1-2 half time and sounds like we've deserved to be in front despite the early setback. Can we get a 3rd and put the game to bed?

Huge questions for us after failing to win that! Worst side we’ve faced by far this season and we’ve absolutely gifted them a point!

All Brown has to do is shout to Legge to head it back.

Askey fucked them up by making us sit deep second half against a side we’ve got on the ropes.

Huge two points dropped. Absolutely furious.

He got that wrong second half. We should be going for the kill rather than sitting back. I hope he learns from this.

Biggest issue for me is this is a repeat pattern. We have dropped so many points late on now it's stopped being just a coincidence. We just seem so naive as a team. Not far off being pretty decent but this is going to hold us back.

We murdered them first half so why the hell sit Amoo and Wozza deep rather than load the box! Half time it’s a case of how many we win by. Absolute throw away.

Point gained after yet another awful display without the ball in the first half from us, if Port Vale were more ruthless and clinical they could've had the game safe by half time.

Another game which underlines how quickly we need a manager to get us organised, why Embleton went back to 5 at the back again I will never know, we just kept getting caught out with balls over the top time and time again, as our wing backs cannot play as wing backs in this league.

Second half, we was worthy of something out of it. Both sides made tactical switches and it allowed us to get more into the game. Apart from a very well struck third goal I don't remember Port Vale making many chances - I thought they ran out of steam tbh after putting alot into the first half.

Our great team spirit from last season has dug us out alot of times this season, which was evident again today as we snatched something late on - We've scored quite a few late goals this season. Nearly nicked a cheeky undeserved winner as well, which would've been some steal as well.

With the ball, we've created chances all season and put teams under pressure. We need an experienced coach to organise us better and hopefully push us into the middle of the table.

We arnt going win any away games when conceding 3 goals. Manny is a waste of a wage as is montano no point carrying players that are injured so many times. Taylor burgess and joyce should be our midfield 3 even if conlon is fit I'd still go with that. Worrall needs to score goals dont think he had any chances today but if hes going play that far forward then we need him get about 8 goals a season not 2. We need get the defence sorted aswell as many of the goals we have conceded this season have been terrible. We are back in 15th place which is about where I'd expect us to finish.

On train now. The centre half for them who was subbed at half time was one of the worst footballers I've ever seen in my life.
Great sub by their manager
Game of two halves but to concede so late against a bang average team is shocking

Either Brown didn't shout or Legge fucked up.
All he had to do was duck
Gutting . Great following

Real shame we’ve lost Manny again to another injury. Does seem to me we have picked up a lot of muscle injuries across the whole squad. Hard to know what’s the reason, whether it’s just a product of the quicker paced game we try and play or is it something we are not doing in training or the pre-game warmup even. Does need to be looked at more closely I feel.

Overall though we are looking like the prohibitive favourite for the mid-table thread and if you’d offered me that at the start I’d have been content.

Their second was from a poor headed clearance too. Defended like the Grimsby debacle just luckily Orient were as bad at the back.

I would of been happy enough at the start of August but incredibly frustrated, we are just a lack of concerntration away from challenging. The amount of goals we’ve conceded late on away from lapses is ridiculous and has cost us a few points which is the difference.

That third goal today was an error from our two most experienced pros too.

Aye you’re not wrong on that. With that said the way I look at it is this club has had a general losing culture for certainly the last three seasons and it’ll take time change that. We’re trending right it’s just going to need patience.

We look a different animal to the last two seasons at this level which is something positive to take. The football and fact we score goals and create chances is a good sign of the progress.

Patience is required although that dangling carrot of the lardies in league one is one that will test fans patience!

On a side note how good is Jake Taylor looking! What a strike! After his goal on Tuesday and performance he is looking a real good loan signing.

Must say after recent slating Mr Oldham was superb referee yesterday. Let the game flow and got most decisions correct.

Thought Gibbons was harshly booked for giving their lad his thoughts on his dive, the melee was caused by their lad reacting to that but otherwise did well, the advantage he played for our equaliser was good to see after Wozza was fouled.

Think he wasn’t a new referee at this level and shown.

Agreed on the ref. He let your centre backs climb all over our forwards a bit too often and should have booked a couple of ours for pathetic dives, but was otherwise excellent. A pleasure to see after two years of National League officials.

Thought we were absolutely atrocious in the first half. Set up completely wrong in every area of the pitch; weak, slow and lazy. Worrall had a great half and absolutely torched Dan Happe time and again. The only surprise was that we actually scored with that pathetically defensive line up.

Second half we switched things around and looked better, but I thought Askey reacted far too quickly to our alterations; he didn’t even give it five minutes with your first half set-up to see how things panned-out. Couple of smashing goals from Wilkinson and your fella (Taylor?).

Enjoyable game with a point probably a bit more than we deserved.

Two cracking goals to be fair, both postage stamp with the keepers at full stretch unable to get it.

Taylor is a kid from Forest, only just broke into the team for his first EFL starts in the last fortnight due to the injury crisis, was immense and scored Tuesday and followed it up with that stunner, his first goal in the EFL.

Hoping we can hold him past January; Mansfield were sniffing around whilst we had him training with us in the summer but luckily his agent is a Vale legend who has set up a link between the clubs so hopefully that will go in our favour.

Coulson was excellent for you and you played some good stuff, just couldn’t defend anything, every cross you seemed to panic with and fail to deal with, if you can sort the defence out you should climb the table. Assume that will be a priority in January for you as your general play second half was decent with the ball.

Recall us playing FGR in their first season at this level and was a similarity, first half they were dreadful, Monthe I think it was he was useless (since improved massively!) but then we sat back and got punished and their football ability came out. Yesterday was very similar.

“Good on the ball, abso-fucking-lutely abysmal without it” sums us up nicely.

Only Marsh in midfield can tackle and yesterday was Coulson’s first decent performance of the season. Hasn’t got the legs for this level any more IMHO. Happe is far too slow to play in a 3, Ekpiteta has had a nightmare start after a brilliant year last term and both wing-backs are far more suited to playing at fullback.

Can’t wait for Jobi McAnuff to be fit again. We’ll be twice the side.

In hindsight, that was a lot of fun. I didn't feel that way at five past five on Saturday but that's emotion for you.

We simply have to be winning matches like that. You can't completely murder a team for 30 minutes and still not win. The switch in momentum between the first half and the second half was crazy and Askey once again left his subs 15 mins too late.

We're four points off the playoffs despite throwing away two points against Northampton, Salford and now Orient. We've just come out of a ridiculously tough month (Newport, Plymouth, Exeter, Mansfield, Orient) and now have a much easier set of fixtures to go at (Morecambe, Macc, Stevenage, Bradford, Oldham). If we're outside the playoffs at the end of October I'll be quite disappointed. The only thing stopping us is belief/motivation, we're all just happy to not be Bury, right?

The way the league is shaping up and how well generally we've played, only really Mansfield and Grimsby second half where we were really poor. To get through September with the injuries etc I think we should now aim for the play offs as a target, even if we ultimately fall short.

Its a wide open league, fairly even in quality and anyone can beat anyone else this season so why not? Lets assume Bolton get their shit together in the summer and teams that are big spenders but maybe struggling this season then try and right the wrongs, we probably wont get a better chance to undo the Norman years and get back to usual business in League One.

I think that we are a couple of players short of denting the top seven, mainly in defence. I hope we are able to address that in January if we are looking like being in with a chance.
