Like Chris Gunter , have you ever had to choose between a family event or a football match?

Every Christmas. I've missed numerous Boxing Day matches due to visiting my elderly parents. The one time they could come to us, we had an away match.

Sadly both my parents have gone now. Upside is that I can attend on Boxing Day - Sarfend, here I come.

Noticed BOTH his parents are going to the Wales game - not sure the brother will be too chuffed!

Been the odd party or two we've missed for a game but nothing major (most parties are in the evening anyway aren't they...)

My cousin got married on the May Bank holiday weekend a couple of years ago so had we got to the play-off final that might have made for a bit of a dilemma (even more as her dad is a big Watford fan!)

I got married on a Friday and purposely booked to fly out for the honeymoon on the Sunday so I wouldn't miss a game. However my new wife had other ideas and wanted to send our first day as man and wife together. I hadn't missed a home game in 6 years and haven't missed one since. We won 7-1. Bad start to the marriage.

Should have taken her to the game if she wanted to be with you so much.
