How many times can one manager get to pretend the goalkeeper is injured to get a team talk in?

Be interesting where they end up next, upper L1 I imagine?

He'll be keeping an eye on the Barcelona job becoming available.

Can confirm that the Cowleys have left Huddersfield. Must be getting the England job? Impish

Who knows? One thing I think is they did a decent job at keeping Hudders in the Championship. Wasn’t it something like one point only after the first 9 or 10 games so they looked doomed before the Cowleys came In. So for that reason and the fact that Hudders are a real basket case club (thats according to the Hudders forum) I think DC and NC did fine. I think they will still go on to bigger and better things.

Btw, where is Impish, havent seen him on here for ages?

*Edit, just seen Bristol City allegedly being lined up for the Cowleys next job. I reckon that’s more of a decent fit for them than Huddersfield tbh.

In addition to Wigan? Hull surely one?
I'm not sure Hull are close to administration, they're just an absolute basket case of a club at the moment. That recent post on twitter about percentage of wages compared to turnover or profit or whatever had them at the lowest spend on wages in the Championship. (51% compared to some clubs with an over 100% spend)

It sucks for the extended family of mine that supports them, but it doesn't look like they'll be in League 1 next year because of bad finances.

Yeah, Hull are in a worse position than Huddersfield. It works from a location point of view because they never ended up leaving Lincoln permanently in the end but there's already talk of Hull capping wages at £5k/week next season.

Unless it's an Ipswich or Sunderland sized L1 Club I think they'll hang on for a Championship job. The problem is, those types that will probably become available - Wednesday, Birmingham, Hull - are all struggling financially and/or have trigger happy owners. Middlesbrough may not be a bad shout if Warnock doesn't hang around.

Weirdly, I think their reputation has been enhanced further by being sacked because people have looked and understood just how bad Huddersfield were when they went in. Their record was pretty much solid mid-table in the time they were there.

It seems theyve been sacked because of the style they play and the type of players they wanted bring in next season.

Certainly seems the latter - Cowley wanting more British players and the Chairman fancying the Europeans.

As well as the above, the local media are also suggesting that the Chairman has had a change of heart and wants a Head Coach title rather than Manager to definitely keep control of transfers and the Director of Football role. And wanting the new guy to work with the existing squad because they can't afford to cut their losses on high earners and might as well make use of them whilst they're there.

Completely the opposite of how they both want to do things, but it still baffles me why you'd push so hard for them back in September, agree to do things their way, pay £1m for them both, give them both sizeable contracts and then getting rid. For a Club who have been telling everyone their skint, it seems another waste of £m's, albeit a relatively low outlay compared to the waste in the PL.

The Chairman sounds like he's been releasing players against their will, too. That happened with Danny Simpson just before the re-start where they'd agreed a new one-month deal with him only for the Chairman to withdraw it. He certainly seems a little too hands on.

Looks like Huddersfield have sacked the Cowleys because their control freak Chairman wanted control of transfers, which seems bizarre as Luke said. The whole reason they went there was because the Chairman gave them assurances they would manage everything including transfers (after they had initially said no because of this issue). It looks like they've got loads of lazy, expensive flops signed in the Prem who still have another year or more on their contracts and the Chairman can't afford to get rid so needs a man who can try and reintegrate them into the side, whereas the Cowleys presumably wanted to bin them off and start again with hungry players. They're seemingly bringing in Leeds' U23 coach (Bielsa's translator) who retired from football at 23 to go into coaching and has never managed higher than the Cypriot league, where he guided his team to an enormous 7th place. I can see Huddersfield going down next year and might have a few quid on that one. In contrast I expect the Cowleys to come out of this much better and go in the opposite direction.
