Arsenal scored two goals when they were doing pretty much nothing on the pitch. A better keeper we would have won this comfortably.
I don't think Mignolet was at fault for the goals. Ramsey's finish was perfect. Maybe Simon should have saved Giroud's first, but it's tough when there's a touch - how ever small - so close to the goal. And nothing he could do about Giroud's second, it was poor defending from Toure to stumble and not close him down or block the shot.

Agree about Hendo, he did look a bit restricted tonight and wasn't on the ball often enough to whip in those dangerous crosses he can do, and how he didn't take that freekick at the end to let Moreno smash it into the wall, is beyond me.

Not sure how to feel about this one. Great to get that late equaliser, but on the other hand we were twice leading yet couldn't win. Arsenal weren't anything special, either, we pretty much gifted Giroud two goals. Both his finishes were superb, but should have defended better.

Firmino has to be MOTM for his two goals, but it's not like were playing great flowing attacks with him up top, either.

Our midfield shape was all over the place at times, but I guess that's understandable given how little those guys have played together this season. Henderson was playing pretty deep, I'm not sure how to feel about it. I felt his role prevented him from making those smart runs forward.
i bet you watch the Antique Roadshow

A better keeper we would have won this comfortably.

Mignolet has been great for us recently. More clean sheets than de gea and courtois!..not saying he is better than them two but i'll take him over any keeper in the league other than the two mentioned. Especially over the likes of clowns like Tim Krul who lets in 5!!

I was expecting Firmino to take the freekick tbh.

Firmino and Giroud's second goals were both brilliant.

Both were poor. Don't think Ibe will make it at Liverpool personally.

Giroud man of the match for sure. Goal of the match too. Gutted we didn't win, but that was a fantastic game to watch.

Firmino's 2nd goal was the best of all. Giroud's second was good too but he was against Toure.

What a game to kick of 2016 at Anfield. We was brilliant and shite...summed us perfectly to be honest. We caused Arsenal problems and a bit more composure from Ibe, Lallana and Moreno we could have scored more. Exactly the same on the other side, everytime Arsenal came forward we were all over the place in defence. It's hard to pin point one person for the second goal...collectively we're so bad at the back. Giroud's second was brilliant.

Glad to see some real class from Firmino and impact from Benteke and Allen off the bench. I just can't call where we'll end up this season. Defence is so bad we're at negative gd...If only we can sort that, we might be more consistent.

What Achterberg and other coaches are doing with the defence in training is beyond me!
