Cardiff were hard for Spurs to break down at Wembley, but they lacked punch up front, otherwise they would have nicked a point. Cant really think of anything more positive to say about Warnock's team.
Hard to see past a home win here, Liverpool seem to have overcome the knack of winning big games only to falter against a "small" team next week.

Yeah delighted for Shaq, he has deserved that with the form he's been in. Salah too looking sharp once more, I think he's about at 95% now of his form last season.

I think we look so much more compact with Fabinho there ,his game intelligence and his passing reminds me of Gilberto Silva and we all know how integral he became for Arsenal.
I know fans are saying Lallana didnt have his most productive game but we stretched the Cardiff defence more than we've been doing with teams of late and he was unlucky not to have a goal to his name ,still coming back to full fitness but his jinking runs and clever twists drag defenders out of position and creates the space for our forwards to run into
Delighted for Shaq he took his goal with real aplomb and he looks tailor made for the last 20 mins when opposition defences are weary and finally *look away Pep* Salah and Mane are linking up again to great effect, another three points and top of the pack and if you listen carefully you can hear the faints clicks of a soon to be relentless attack slowly moving into gear.

On a side note, the atmosphere was woeful on Saturday and Cardiff fans let us know with their "Is this a library chants' Kopites can only do so much, all the other sections that house supposed Liverpool fans need to support us. I suppose its indicative of this new breed of support too busy watching their phones and seemingly more interested in what's being said on Social media ,hanging off the critique delivered by some blurt whose never been to Anfield in his life rather than actually watching or celebrating whats unfolding on the pitch. Bizarrely, I had a group sitting in front of me on the Kop who were too busy making Snap Chat videos and then playing it back to themselves.

Well, the atmospheres started dying long before smartphones and the true criminal is of course all seaters. Bring back the terraces and you get your atmosphere, there's little more to it than that.

I cant argue with that ,safe standing areas have been introduced 'successfully to boot 'by Celtic but its still an emotive subject that divides Liverpool fans. I've added my name to the SOS call for its reintroduction and the government are currently reviewing it, all we can do now is be patient and hope the pros tip the balance in our favour.

I'm wondering, once the Anfield Road end is redeveloped, if FSG will wait to see what happens with safe-standing before possibly implementing it on the Kop in parts? Obviously some will still be against it, but I do feel more and more Liverpool fans are coming round to the idea of it.

I get that it's a touchy subject but with all that we know of the Hillsborough disaster today, the fact that it happened on a terrace is way, way down on the list of everything that went wrong on that tragic day.

I can remember escaping the boys pen and climbing my way into the Kop ,all was good with the world until the crowd surged forward and I was crushed against the bar ,I could feel the unbearable weight for a few fleeting seconds until I could hear a man shouting "there's a fucking kid here" and was whisked into the arms of another man who had witnessed my distress ,but however brief my brush with mortality was ,it was a truly harrowing experience in my young life and the feeling of such complete helplessness will stay with me for the rest of my natural. Other than that ,I think with football now being a more family orientated game the powers that be will be loathe to reintroduce an element of the game they're more content to do without .
That's why I believe the main source of dissension from those who oppose the possible return of standing areas is seating all but eliminates the fear of crushing and yet Celtics rail seating and its safe practice should have quelled those concerns.

It's not about family's really, that was never the issue. The strategy with the entire Premier league project has been to move football from the working class to the middle class and upwards. Which has everything to do with money and nothing to do with Hillsborough or respect for the victims and what caused it. While terraces of course have their drawbacks, even discussing it is missing the point.
Football was for a long while a predominantly working class sport not only in England but perhaps especially so in England. The problem being of course that the working class has two stand out issues: one being that they don't have a lot of money, the other being that the middle class don't like to mix it with them.
So the outpricing of the working class was killing two birds with one stone essentially. You get rid of the working class, who can't pay the prices you're asking, which in turn makes it more appealing for the middle class. And when you pay £80 to attend a game, you don't want to have to use your elbows just to see the pitch for a third of the game.
TL;DR: So long the Premier league calls the shots, the terraces won't return.

These attempts at social cleansing have been an issue for some considerable time and the Premier League and its representatives will never profess to its undertaking ,but they will push forward 'when tasked' the issue of safety ,this is underlined by their deterrence of crushing and how devoid of terraces crowd control is made easier.
I agree with your closing ,the terraces will never return and the closest they come to revealing this when prodded is their insistence on the game being made safe for family's to attend.
Social cleansing is a topic they instantly rebuke when challenged and they're almost dutiful in their denial and I cant see that altering in the near future.
