Watching that was a bit like I imagine it's like being a political reporter in Washington. Fucking republicans trying to ruin everything.

Wtf you're a trumpet?

Anyway we were talking about it at work a few weeks ago, that Trump would begin hinting at rigging fairly soon. It's basic populistic political theory, can lead to scary consequences though.

So Utd fans hound out the previous manager because of his dull, negative tactics and see him replaced by mr anti-football. Must be sad times for a Utd fan to have to watch their team time waste to hold on to a 0-0 at Anfield.

Mourinho has won titles on performances like that. Drawing away at hard games. And winning the rest, united have got half of it down.

Don't get me wrong we wont win the title but to say based on that performance were miles away seems....incorrect.

Oh no never a Trump fan, the guy is a loon! The rigging in the states he is on about is run by Republican governers anyway. Talking out his a-hole as always.

Mate. You got like the GNP of a small country for attacking talent. And that was the easiest clean sheet I can remember, both Derby and Burton created more than you against our defense. And I'm not even exaggerating, you were literally the least threatening team I can remember us playing in ages, let alone this season.

In the cold light of day (never understood that saying tbh), they'll look at it as a point away at a rival so they won't be displeased with that. Neither am I tbh; we didn't play well but we didn't get beat, and I'll take that as long as we never lost to that lot, I'm happy enough as we can still go to Old Trafford and upset them there yet. :D

It's a sign of the changing times though, that Liverpool fans will be feeling gutted not to have won and Man Utd fans will simply be happy they have a point from a trip to Anfield

To be fair, in the past this hasn't been entirely untrue either. A draw away is always good in these games, because you're always favorite at home.

That was fucking shit.

Their plan worked and we still struggle against defensive set teams.

De Gea was amazing when called upon and it looks like we've found another Mignolet in Karius.

On a positive note, at last we keep a clean sheet! Still very tight amongst the top of the table and that's another tough fixture on paper out of the way.

It's a fair enough tactic in games like that though. Wish Arsenal could do it. Wouldn't like to watch it every week but he only rolls it out 5-6 times a season.

Indeed, still got another tough match at the weekend though, West Brom at home, a team we always struggle with. I think we'll be sharper for that one though.

Hard fought draws were integral to Fergie's success, you can't win every game. I just googled "Alex Ferguson happy with a point" and this was the first article http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/2791029.stm

The great Sir Alex Ferguson happy with a point against Bolton, maybe we shouldn't have named a stand after him afterall.

I'm talking about going into a game knowing you'd be happy with a point, that is clearly the case with your lot tonight, or your boring fucking manager at least. Realising it's a good result once the game is well under way thanks to the way your team or the opposition is playing is another matter entirely, that is what Ferguson is talking about there. Are you seriously telling me Ferguson went into that Bolton game thinking a point would make him happy? Again, bollocks.

I think he would've been, yes. "We've played four times since they played their last game and that's a lot of football. They've been in Dubai sunning themselves."

Sometimes a draw is a good result, especially away from home against tough opposition in good form. I think he'd have been very happy with a point away at Highbury in the late 90's/early 00's or against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the mid 00's. Even places like Goodison Park, Villa Park, St James Park, White Hart Lane, I'm sure he'd have taken a point going into those types of games in some cases.

Well that was dire.

Sturridge is awful, Can was incredibly slow on the turn and it stopped any decent attacking opportunities. You could tell he's not 100% match fit.

If Lallana was on the bench then he's fit enough to start, we also missed Wijnaldum.

De Gea is top banana and Herrera was very good.

Think Man U played for a point hoping to get one on the break.

Liverpool were the more dangerous side but didn't create much but for a couple of great De Gea saves.

Classic Mourinho. The only sweet thing about it is that next week we'll be back to playing entertaining football, the United fans are stuck with this.

He didn't, originally, sit deep in the sense you would have expected but United's game plan was to focus entirely on defending, and perhaps grabbing a set piece goal or something.

To put things into perspective, we haven't kept a clean sheet in the league since last season. United came to Anfield with all that talent and managed, or even tried, to create nothing.

Shit and frustrating game. Annoying as hell we couldn't break them down with all the possession we had.

However, fair play to both Mourinho and United, they had 35% possession and 1 shot on target but they got what they came for. It speaks volumes about what both him and, even more so, United have become for me. No way are they even challenging for the title this season, never mind winning it. Can you imagine Ferguson coming away from any league match happy with a draw?

I'm annoyed with us. We need to be able to break down opposition with that type of game plan. Still, we remain up there and I'm happy with our start given the fixtures we've had. Out of all the top 6 clubs, we've had by far the most difficult start.

And Jose's anti-football doing 'the rigging'. ;)

You'd think with your insane, never-seen-before levels of pressing, lightning quick passing, immeasurably ludicrous kms of distance covered, uncontainable attackers, the roar of the anfield faithful and the irresistible spectacle of heavy metal football you'd be able to deal with a little bit of competent stone-age defending from Fellaini, Smalling, Bailly and co but no, you gegenflopped.

Completely embarrassing if you ask me, Salty.

Nobody is asking you, but maybe old Jose is taking a leaf out of LVG and Big Sam and their stone-age football approach, no? I'm sure Rudolph and co love that, no wonder they procrastinated in hiring him.

Is it worse to say you aren't favourites against your biggest rival, or play like it?

Asking for a Sunderland based friend.

Having a Sunderland based friend is worse than both.
