Is the Spicy Chicken one the Thai variety? I have one of those in the cupboard. I think you're probably right about the soups being quite poor overall, but tomato soup is a childhood classic so it's nice to revisit it once in a while. I picked these up from the bargain bin for 50p each so can't complain.

Correct, the chicken is the Thai variety, really nice. All the others are nasty but if you are getting them for 50p a throw I suppose they fill a hole!

Just seen some recap, can't believe West Ham looked so poor despite their fans officially declaring themselves transfer window winners.

I haven't seen the game yet, only the match reports that I've read which all say that the better team on the day thoroughly deserved all the points, so well done Liverpool, apparently the 3rd goal was clearly offside but all teams get dodgy decisions go their way over the course of the season, just a bad 'hair day' for Pellers.

Good performance, Keita looks a baller. Gomez was very good but got caught ball watching a few times. Trent's long diagonals are brilliant to get attacks starting. I'll be quietly optimistic this season for some sort of success.

Ah ,evidently we're talking convenience foods of the transparent kind ,no mate this is a homemade soup ,aromatic and thicker than Paul Merson.

2 tablespoons of peanut oil
1red onion,chopped
2 cloves garlic,minced
2 tablespoons of chopped fresh ginger
1 pound chicken ,cut into chunks
1 tablespoon of crushed red pepper to taste
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
5 cups of chicken stock
3 small sweet potatoes ,cut into chunks
1 can of chopped tomatoes ,16 oz
Quarter of a pound of collard greens ,roughly chopped
1 cup of chunky peanut butter

Heat the peanut oil in a large pot over medium-high heat; cook and stir the onion, garlic, and ginger in the hot oil until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the chicken; cook and stir until completely browned. Season with the crushed red pepper, salt, and black pepper. Pour the chicken stock over the mixture. Stir the sweet potatoes into the liquid and bring the mixture to a boil; reduce heat to low, cover the pot partially with a lid, and cook at a simmer for 15 minutes.

Stir the tomatoes, collard greens, and peanut butter into the soup. Partially cover the pot again and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, another 20 mins.

I've been drinking Purdey's multivitamin for about 10 years now ,its made up of ginger ,bark extract and ginseng ,and it only took me about a three months to become accustomed to the taste.

Don't mean to sound a dick or wanting to take this thread off topic from the soup discussion but it's becoming harder and harder to watch Liverpool for 90 minutes; the games are over at half-time. I don't really object to sides playing catenaccio against them these days (à la Swansea and Utd last season) as it does seem like an approach that at least won't let you concede loads.
I do hope they win something major this season given the quality of football on show. If not now, when?

They've spent massive money to be named the runners-up elect and they'll probably not get as far in the Champions League this season as they did in the previous campaign.

It's a funny situation, but you do always have to strive to improve and City won't be this strong forever.

I think we have a lot more in our respective armory this time around to fall victim to teams adopting a formation to stifle our fluency ,so many attacking options now available with the addition of Shaquiri and hopefully the resurrection of Sturridge, its ridiculous !

It is ironic we have our best squad in the PL era, but we are going to be up against this City who could become the best team of the PL era. Its a bit like Andy Murray, who should have a dozen grand slams, but has the unfortunate circumstance of being in the same generation as three of the greatest tennis players to play the game!

We have to be challenging for trophies, Klopp has got his squad built now to do so. However, would an FA Cup or a League Cup be sufficient to appease the critics? I doubt that very much, but hopefully we'll compete for the league and CL over the coming seasons, and that is the main thing. If City are too strong or Utd spend a gazillion when Pochettino comes in, so be it; but we'll be competitive, and for the first time in yonks, not a laughing stock in the league.

I think we have a lot more in our respective armory this time around to fall victim to teams adopting a formation to stifle our fluency ,so many attacking options now available with the addition of Shaquiri and hopefully the resurrection of Sturridge, its ridiculous !

It requires either strong technical ability (close control, making passes in very small areas) or very good aerial prowess. I doubt either player is going to help you with those. It's always hard to play against a brick wall. Better get you used to it I say.
