This is all my fault for bringing up the miracle in Istanbul in the shoutbox at 2-0, by the way.

As much as I hate the scouser so you have to give it to them tonite what a game and the atmosphere sounded electric, Dortmund have amazing support FairPlay, will just have to wait for Liverpool to be knocked out in the semis now

Hopefully get a Sevilla final. Shaktar and Villareal will already qualify for the CL throught their respective leagues so I'd prefer they don't win.

Fair play mate - I jumped the gun!

A bit like the Telegraph at 8.56pm...

When he did that I thought it summed up our spending and Adam Lallana, I was mumbling to myself '£25 mill...' :D

Interesting question on the BBC.

"If Liverpool win the Europa League and City win the Champions League but finish 5th, does that mean we would have 6 English clubs in the Champions League next season?"

Apparently not. The team that finished 4th would miss out. I'd laugh long and hard if it happened and it was United.

I can see Liverpool winning the Europa League. If I get drunk enough I can possibly imagine City winning the Champions League in an alternate universe. Nothing has the power to grant me the vision of United finishing fourth under Van Gaal this season.

Be pretty amazing for you (Liverpool) to get CL football whilst finishing around 8th. League be damned at this point though.

What a match it must've been. I was able to see only the first half and was right the result was defined to Dortmund, they were absolutely controlling the game until there and now that I checked the final score got totally surprised. And to improve Liverpool got the classification like in the last minute. I love football.

Does that mean you'd swap him for Van Gaal?
I would swap John Carver for Van Gaal, at least I would be entertained.

Klopp managed my favourite side (Dortmund 10-13) to watch of the last decade after United 07-08. He took a side that should be nowhere near Bayern's level and turned them into one of the best sides in Europe. One bad season and people were suddenly doubting him, he is one of the best managers in football. He's successful (wait until he gets his players in) and he plays gorgeous football (relentless pressing or swift counter attacking) along the way even with dodgy personnel. Jealousy doesn't do justice to my level of envy.

As for tonight...

Still buzzing!
I think its harsh to criticize anyone tonight but...
Mignolet - Couldn't do much for the goals conceded. Did very well to make sure we didn't concede a 3rd goal in the 1st half through that Aubameyang chance.
Moreno and Clyne - Went forward every opportunity they had. Maybe too much in the first half.
Lovren and Sakho - Should have defended better for the goals conceded but made it up with the goals they scored!
Milner - He was really poor in the first half. I really wouldn't start him in CM. Corners were awful, although we did score from one. Nonetheless, he put in 110% effort for the whole match. Ultimately, won us the match with that cross.
Can - Thought he was OK. Whenever he had the ball he tried to move it forward. Definitely needs a better partner in CM.
Coutinho - First half he was really quiet. Played better in the 2nd half and then came up with that Coutinho special.
Firmino - Still needs to find form and fitness after coming back from injury.
Lallana - Ran and ran and ran but really didn't come up with anything. His miss kick was really funny ngl.
Origi - Superb performance again. Becoming a 1st choice after coming in as a 4th choice really takes a lot of effort. Maybe should have scored in the 1st half with the chances he had.
Sturridge - Well his "controll" of the ball at the end turned out really lucky for us!
Allen - Think he played a huge part in changing the game. We looked much much better, in terms of keeping and moving the ball up faster. He really deserves to start the game now with hendo out for rest of the season.
Lucas - Almost cost us at the end with that foul near the box. Reminded me of that game against West Ham in FA Cup, where his silly foul at the last min cost us.
Klopp - Playing Milner at CM was a big mistake. Milner always gives 110% but his ability is still limited. His subs later were perfect, although Lucas for Can was a forced one.

I watched the highlights again this morning. I could watch that last 25 minutes on repeat for hours. You could see Dortmund fall apart pretty much as soon as Coutinho scored, despite us still needing 2 goals at that point. No excuse really.

hm, i think the win is deserved but Dortmund didnt deserve to lose.

some times football is so beautyful and cruel at the same time.

They absolutely did. Amazing game of football, but to be 2-0 up and then 3-1, you've got to take responsibility for completely aresing that up. Liverpool deserved it but surely Dortmund could have managed it better?

Who cares ultimately, wonderful game of football. Still think Sevilla will beat them over 2 legs.

Poor Johnny. Pretends he doesn't mind but his reaction last night when we looked down and out tells us the real story. He was crying into his Fanta when Lovren's header hit the net.

Yes, I do. Including you, if Everton were taking part and had done something similar in a competition where success results in CL participation. Difficult to imagine for you, I know. But it might explain your annoyance and desperate pretence to not to give shit. Which isn't working by the way.

I was speechless last night, what an absolutely incredible performance. Liverpool fans should rightly be walking around with their chests puffed out.

Meanwhile, the other side of Stanley Park...

The fact we won it 2 years in a row shows how little of an achievement that is.:lol:

i think you are right. they deserved it for being too über-confident after the third goal. i dont know where this attitude is coming from but it happened three weeks ago in Berlin and now again where we stopped playing right after the second goal. this arrogance of the germans after taking a two goals lead against an inferior side to think the game is already won has to end very quickly. the players are very well teached in tactics ( all three dortmund goals were fantastic counter attacks) and having very good technical abilities, but they have to learn to finish teams......they maybe have won too early too many titles. some mental training is needed i think.

Why bother posting then if you don't give a shit? You certainly did at half time judging by your posts.

That was mental last night and I think it's a good advertisement for the Europa League. At 2-0 and 3-1 you'd think game over.
