Kevin Ellison is 40 years young on saturday and he will almost definitely play at home against league leaders Lincoln. What are the chances of that coinciding? Further, what are the chances of him grabbing the winner?

Probably little chance, considering Morecambe have lost at home to every present top half team played this season - played 8 lost 8.

However, we're on a bit of a bit of a roll and he does love to score against ex-clubs

I didn't realise Ellison used to play for Lincoln. I can remember him being at Hull but his time at Lincoln must have passed me by.

I remember watching him in his Altrincham days. #EllisonHipster

I recall him playing for Wrexham against us something like 14-15 years ago! Looked the same then as he does now to be honest.

To be fair he still looks a handy player to have. That goal v Crewe? Was excellent.

Played 11 games for us at the end of 03/04, you guys were still the division above then.
We tried to sign but we couldn't match Chester for fee or wages.
Scored against us for them the following season, ran straight over to the coop stand to take the piss and got a pie square in the face.
Normally scores against us, did last time in December but we won 3-1.

Play left wing-back for us when on loan here. That was before the time of club houses, so he stayed at my mates house.

Robbie Savage (build) and Matt Rhead (hair!) type, nobody likes him unless he's in your side!

That's why they ceased to exist in 2010! Coupled with 2003/04 being only our second season out of admin. Still effectively paying PT wages then.

Always liked Ellison, quality player. He was always more of a pantomime villain anyway rather than a figure of hate. I had no issue him giving it back to the fans given the stick he got.

Think he went there for around 100k in the summer of 2004.
Like Luke said Chester went bust and having been up and down the non-league pyramid ever since.

Depressing when you are older than Ellison, albeit he now looks like he couldnof taught me at my secondary school.

Tough life being a lower league footballer

A shake-up for us.

Smith (might be injured, not even in the squad), Frecklington and Bolger dropped. Gilks in for his debut, O'Hara in for his full debut, Pett back in, Bostwick to CB with Shackell and looks a 4-3-3 rather than 4-2-3-1.

Sounds like a nice, solid, routine win, which is wanted after last week and heading into our game in hand on Tuesday.

Do Lincoln play like that at home? Jesus that was painful to watch. Lincoln were better across every department but it's far from an enjoyable game to watch.

We never really got started, a combination of the Cowleyball gameplan and a ref with no bottle killed any chance we had.

Probably the dullest team I've seen up here who will go on to win the league.

From what I've read, we didn't need to get into second gear so probably a combination of that and us not being the most expansive of sides. After drawing the last four, it was back to basics and win especially when we combine that with dropping 10 points this year from winning positions. A boring game was exactly what we needed.

As a rule of thumb, we're efficient, though, I'll give us that. Different at home but playing that way is why we top the away table.

Well we did get 'battered ' by Stevenage last week so we were probably keeping it tighter yesterday.
