Kevin Dearden is the keeper coach. Although he can barely walk from the look of him so I'm not sure if he has help!

Walton is a weird one, makes some great saves, was superb at cambridge in that dodgy first 20 or so for the defence, and then he'll drop one with no pressure on him. Perhaps a bit of a concentration issue with him, but he's young and I'll think the experience will do him good.
I think he's getting better and better every game. Remember he's only 20.
He may well go on and play for England - heck, the odd handling error is a qualifying factor!

Just to warn any Grimsby fans reading this. The score will be 5-1 to Luton.

This is based on our five home games so far this season having finished
0-1
1-1
2-1
3-1
4-1
(although not in that order, so we might win 6-1 and save the 5-1 for the next home game)

Refer you to my subsequent post.

Think he has talent but I highly doubt he goes on to play for England. It's certainly not self evident based on his play thus far. It's like saying Dan Potts might play for England, he is alright and has talent but it's not likely.

I'm thankful we're not playing you in April/May then as we may have been on the end of a 23 - 1 thrashing! :gr:

Hope I'm wrong, but I can only see a home win here I'm afraid.

I'm expecting Grimsby to give us our toughest test so far.

Sept is a testing month with some tricky games. If we can do well this month and go unbeaten or win most it could really set us up with a head of steam.

If it isn't in order it looks like a 0-2 is on the cards!

Never a fan of when everyone expects us to dominate and roll a team over. I'll take a scrappy 1-0 with an offside handball, just to keep that winning momentum going!!

Usually a draw this one if I remember right from our Conference days.
Pretty sure Andre Gray scored in this fixture on his debut before we equalised late on, remember a 0 - 0 bore draw after Rob Scott had been sacked and it was Hurst's first sole game and pretty sure I can remember another 1 - 1 where we scored a deflected opener before Luton equalised late on.
I can't remember what I ate for tea yesterday but when it comes to football I've the memory of an elephant!
I cant remember what I had for breakfeast and thats only an hour or so ago ! Glad Grimsby are settling down GTFCfish and you must be feeling more optimistic for the season ahead. Now I have a dilemma mate cos I like old oakroader who supports the other lot and the good banter on the old Blue Square forum so for the first time in history your both going to win.................

I think Luton have missed a bit of a trick here by not having pay on the day for away fans.
We've sold 400 so far with a day to go, but we have loads of Southern based exiles and with pay on the day I would expect around another 100 - 150 on top of that at £20 a pop, so for the cost of paying one extra turnstile guy for a couple of hours Luton could earn themselves an extra couple of grand I reckon.

And the rest. Away ticket sales policy is ridiculous at the moment...total pain in the arse for exiles and an extra £7 for special delivery postage.

We cant do pay on the day because the Oak Road is split between home and away fans now and as a stipulation of allowing this, the police wont let us.

Or that was my understanding as to why it didnt happen last season in any case.

It's now been confirmed that you can phone and collect tickets from Luton on the day, so now no excuse.

hope Grimsby fans do turn up in good numbers...I sence both parties will have a begrudging respect for each other after all the years in the wilderness....onwards and upwards for both sets of supporters would help to dull those memories of those dark days....
anyways...can't see the train stopping its journey on Saturday.

A couple of first teamers are back in contention for tomorrow's game. Alan Sheehan could well come back into the 18, however I think its doubtful (and unfair) that he'll automatically start. Alex Gilliead has also had his first full week of training behind him, so he'll be pushing for a place in the starting XI. That said, for one of the best performances we've had in the last few years, it would be unfair to drop anyone from that side. I think we'll be completely unchanged:

Agree that it would be unfair to drop anyone after last week, but knowing the managers opinion of Rea it wouldn't surprise me to see him in place of Lee.

Sensible. Too late for me though; I rashly bought tickets for the terrace at Welford Road, could have just changed at Leicester and hopped on the train to Luton. Damn...wish I hadn't done that.

Exactly as predicted apart from the fact Cuthbert has been dropped to the bench and Sheehan starts as captain.

Well I'm guessing as good as we were last week we are as bad this. Awful first half for us, not seen us this sloppy in possession for a long time, probably the Still days.

Jones certainly needs to earn his money now as we look way off the pace.

Still 45 mins to go unfortunately, let hope for a repeat of the first half and turn the Gy defensive errors around.
