LOL(LOVE OUR LAGER)
well thank you very much to poster vanni,
for remembering the old days, its quite uncanny
how i thought that little bits of verse and a few choise words
normally fell on deaf ears of those other turds
but I am surprised and indeed very flattered
that my work left an impression on some of you far and scattered
so lets all acknowledge that we share the same dream
that we all want the best for our beloved team
Lol (Love Our Luton)

Seems a mentality issue running through the club. The Development Team which due to such a huge squad is always pretty strong, went on a long unbeaten run just like the 1st team. Now every time I see a result in the last month they've lost too. v Cambridge twice for the record. ;-)

I don't think so much it's complaints on expectations. It's the complete turnaround in confidence, outlook and style as much as the results. We've actually struggled all season not once it seems hitting top gear yet for a large chunk of the season pulled off wins from draws. Would love to have seen how last seasons mentality and team would have fared, but that's just hypothetical.

Your first season back in the football league and you're in the play offs with 9 games to go. With all due respect, you don't want to go up this season, you're not ready. Still will see you right.

Fully agree on both points, but the turnaround is a little startling

Still's style of football will always divide opinion. When it's going well it's great 'up and at em' football. When it's going bad, it's the dreaded 'hoofball'.

You will have the odd down spell under him as he doesn't revert to a plan B when things aren't quite clicking. But eventually it will come good again when players return or if he delves into the loan market to fill gaps. If not this season, you'll be going again next season.

I think you are right. He's the best thing we've had in donkeys. He's not perfect as let's be realistic - that's why he's here and not in the Championship or Prem. I think perhaps he was a bit like a kid in a candy store at a big(ish) club for the first (perhaps) time and he brought in too many youngsters for the future, with his noble goal to rebuild for tomorrow and perhaps could have done with one or two more players for today.

Noble cause that could benefit his successor more than him. Too many potentials for the future when only a fraction will kick on. We lost a huge asset in Gray (obv couldn't stand in his way) but we never adjusted correctly. We also have hit a horrific injury run that he has gallantly and steadfastly refused to blame, but clearly is a factor - but that's also football life and not a cry for sympathy.

So long as we retain the philosophy and mindset we're still in with an outside shot this season but (almost preferably) if it's not to be we're in a better experienced spot for next season.

but its still my Luton, the way I used to remember it to be!

oh no,that's not good news
Luton on tv-we're bound to lose!!
anyways I'm still going with a friend
to see if we can break that annoying trend
I don't why whenever the cameras are there
any good form disappears into thin air
I just hope and pray the football public will view
the Luton train back on schedule to leave league division two

___ in the sunshine__Now come on Luton, make the day perfect!! #LTFC #COYH.jpg
I'm asking you,as a life long hatter
did you hear that crash, that awful shatter?
that was the sound of my dreams come crashing down,
automatic promotion now gone for Luton Town
thank goodness we had a good start to the season
cause to be still in a play off position
defies all rhyme and reason
our current form is certainly concerning
and the direction we are heading Mr still must be turning
cause if he doesn't put things right
he will validate our fellow posters claims that Luton really are shite!!

Went pretty fucking well for us, we weren't that far off a triple promotion and came agonisingly close to doing Conference to Championship in 3 seasons.

There is never a bad time to be promoted.
I still don't know how we won league 1 after winning L2 play-offs then after a serious lack of investment we were always bound to come straight back down. A treble promotion would be impressive. Fleetwood have done very well but sure they will come back down when the money runs out

well,i can't believe we're just still in with a chance of promotion
after all these weeks of turmoil and commotion.
although the top three places are now a distant dream,
to finish with a play off chance is there for my team.
if the season ends well with a win at wembley,
with the usual 40000 + luton fans in assembly
then we'll release all our built up stress and strain,
on the onward journey of our luton train
however,if we miss out and in league 2 we are stuck
i know there's a lot of you who wouldn't give a fuck!!

i think the fact that Luton, Plymouth, Newport etc still have a fighting chance of the play offs highlights what an odd division it has been.

The top 5 have been streets ahead of the rest, and the bottom 5-6 (including my own 'team') have been thoroughly cack.
The glory places have pretty much been contended by those positional custodians for months and months.

As regards Luton, I think they've done okay. I'm not sure that Conference winners sail through the fourth tier first time any longer. Even the wealth of Fleetwood didn't manage it; and studying it closer, most who rise from the graveyard league have struggled to establish themselves.

If Luton seal a play off space I think they ought to consider it a first season well done. If 5 years in the Conference teaches you one thing, it should be patience.

A very sensible post, Doomy.

Having read it, I don't like this thread. Bit cringe coupled with a hint "look how big my dick is" thrown in.
