After last weekends complete shambles of a first half performance we once again have the joy of playing an in form Blackpool team. Probably just a bit of confirmation bias but we do seem to have played a lot of teams this season when they have been very in form!

Nathan got his April fools joke in a little early this year with this cracker of a quote on Thursday when asked about Olly Lee, "If you look at our best, I’ve made our philosophy video this week and Olly plays a massive, massive part in that." If he genuinely believes that we are in a whole world of trouble.

At least we wont be subjected to another Cook no show as he is out injured although this is balanced by the continued concerns around Danny Hyltons fitness. Struggle to see us picking much up without some form of contribution from him.

A bad performance and result today and I really worry for us and our play off chances but when the games have got bigger we have really not performed at all.

Blackpool were crap against Pool last weekend and that from a rock solid Tangerine. If they can win playing badly that's a good sign, sorry oaky think they can get a result 2-1 to the visitors

Hmm,oranges verses tangerines...sounds like a tasty event.
hope it ends up sweet and not sour for the orange contingent.
we need to peel away from the tangerines.

Finally got rid of the bloody diamond and looked a lot better for it IMO, still looked like yet another draw but amazing bit of persistence from Palmer and we got the winner.

Out final ball is bloody abject though! Amazing that Hylton has got 24 with that sort of delivery.

Fair play to Macey and Lee, both have been getting a lot of criticism recently but both stepped up today and played well, good for them and for once we didn't bottle an important game!

Is there a 'worst goal of the season' competition? I think Luton's goal today would surely win it. Short of kicking the ball in the net for us Blackpool couldn't have done much more to gift wrap that goal for Luton. Even Palmer couldn't miss from there.

It was an ugly goal to win an ugly game. Still a massive, massive win however it came about and keeps the playoff dream alive.

Can't agree that Lee played well though, he played the same game he always does right down to his customary booking for pulling a player back after they have breezed by him as if he wasn't there. Meanwhile Macey made two good saves but still goes missing every time a ball floats into the box so no high marks for him from me either.

Funny how we all see different things I guess.

Lee did some decent defending, won his fair share of tackles and knocked the ball around far quicker than he normally does IMO where he is normally ponderous. Did his fair share of screening the defence. Second half he reverted a little bit toward the end with a couple of poor floated nothing type balls but did very well for me! Bar picking out the top corner from 25 yards not sure he could have done that much more really.

Macey did well too for me, 3 good saves, one a superb reaction save from a great over head kick and even came twice for high balls from free kicks (one a punch although a decent one) as we saw the game out at the end.

They were 1 and 2 for MOTM for me and I am no fan of either.

I don't think Palmer has been paid either due to our, "issues."

First time I've ever seen him score a tap in, he doesn't get enough of those.

Can't agree with this. I have been one of Olly Lee's biggest critics in the recent past, but yesterday he did very well. He actually influenced the game in midfield, broke the play up and was influenced our attacking play. Fair play to him after last week, but he's got to do it week in week out.

Blackpool gave us a lot of space to play that said; I suppose in L1 you'll get a lot more of that, whereas Luton didn't allow Blackpool to play at all from the start.

Matt Macey did well, but there were a few shady moments. He's a good shot stopper, but is positioning, distribution and decision making needs to improve further. That'll come with experience; I'd have him back here next season as No.2 behind Walton.

I thought Olly Lee was fine yesterday but not MotM. Blackpool did give him a lot of time. Macey is clearly a good shot stopper however his distribution is poor, he doesn't command his defense and is dodgy under a high ball, preferring to punch. Ollie Palmer very much plan B for us at the moment however it worked so fair play. Thought SOD had a beetter game although final ball still a huge issue. That said. so was JJ's yesterday yet he doesn't get half the abuse SOD does.

An improvement for sure however we will need to up it a gear or two if we are serious about going up through the play offs.

Sheehan was my MotM by the way.
