Last week was probably the most positive I've been after a defeat and with a similar performance tomorrow I can see us winning. Biggest selection issue for Sol is who to pick in the right wing back position as I think Archibald would be better utilised elsewhere on the pitch.

Off the pitch, my normal spot on the terrace has very conveniently been closed to house new dugouts which is a pain. Also it's the first test of our new fangled QR ticket scanners. Bet they don't work.

We played well enough I thought last week, we seem to be a more possession based side now but we need to be more ruthless in the final third when it comes to shooting and the final pass.

Would happily take a draw, looks like Dean Brill will start in goal.

Expectations still low after a truamatic summer, the team do seem rather determined to do well though.

Should really have called this game the National League Champions 2018 vs 2019.

Easily the most flattering 3 0 scoreline you will ever see. Macc weren't bad (apart from their fans who were silent all game despite winning), and we were poor, but the score didn't reflect the game.

Lack of atmosphere is purely down to the running of the club, the old singing section has been closed to house the new dugouts and a lot of the more vocal fans are staying away in protest of the current regime. Either way I'm sorry it upset you so much.

As for the game, we carried on from where we left off at Exeter but this time with the finishing to match. Dunno what happened to Paddy Osadebe at his previous clubs but he's been a revelation since he's arrived here. Orient really folded towards the end, hence the late flurry of chances and the 3-0 scoreline. Bottom half for both of us sounds accurate but for us that may yet be seen as a success.

We’re going to need to do a lot better than that away from, we can have all of the ball and be technically the better side, but we need to be more ruthless in the final third. We didn’t do enough in open play.

Also getting caught on the break for two of the goals wasn’t good enough - far too early to be pushing with a line that high.

Macclesfield were efficient in their game plan and took their chances, they let us off the hook at the end as well when we gave up the ghost as it could’ve been more.

Don’t think they quite have enough up front to steer well clear of trouble, but Campbell has a game plan to work with and they were difficult to beat.

There's a big gap between League 2 and the Conference these days, Orient finding that out. Watched some of Notts v Barnet yesterday and it was fucking abysmal. At this rate having automatic promotion and relegation between the two leagues will become pointless. Should have a play off like they have in Scotland. I reckon even the worst sides in this league would quite easily beat the top Conference teams over two legs.

At this rate having automatic promotion and relegation between the two leagues will become pointless. Should have a play off like they have in Scotland. I reckon even the worst sides in this league would quite easily beat the top Conference teams over two legs.

I’ve been in both Macclesfield and Leyton many times (exiled in London and watch them the most down here) and I’d far rather live in the former!!
Leyton makes Barrow look nice in my opinion!

Yes, that was my immediate impression last season.

The gulf between League One and League Two is even bigger, as we are now finding out. Probably the result of the number of foreign players in the PL and Championship these days, with home grown players having to move further down to play, and the difference in funding levels between the various divisions.

I had to queue for 15mins behind 10 others yesterday and the technology printing off the tickets (Or paper reciepts) was rather slow due to a poor internet connection apparently. Thankfully I get to games early.

Then the turnstyles only opened at 2.20pm - due to a problem with the technology, I was second in line when they finally opened............only for it to fail again.

Felt sorry for all the staff involved, all doing their best but slowed down by system which didn't appear to be properly tested. Hopefully just teething problems.

Most likely it hadn't even been tested at all before yesterday. To be honest I doubt the turnstile operators had even been shown how to use it. Another sign of the complete lack of direction and organisation from up above unfortunately.

My comment wasn't really an attack on Macc. There has always been an association with long northern trips and nil points in adverse weather and people tend to call these grim away days. It being a Tory area though certainly wouldn't attract me either. I'm sure Macc is pleasant enough in the right light

Barnet.

Macc, ourselves, Cheltenham and Grimsby have all struggled in at least one season since coming up. Orient might well do to. All those teams have had to totally rebuild their squads to become competitive.
