Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
City's recent home record hasn't been bad, scoring 12 and not conceding in the last four. Will Villa be pumped or have one eye on the final?

3-0 to City with the caveat that there's always the chance with City that it could be 1-0 to villa.

With Liverpool dropping points, a win would pretty much tie up a top four spot that some City fans I know seem to be in a panic about - Liverpool would need 10 points (with goal difference) from five games even if City lost the rest. Spurs and Saints needing 10 from 4. (Saints GD being close enough that four wins for them and four defeats for City could overhaul it)

Villa have played well Barring the horrible error from Guzan and have been the better side for most of the half.

If we can keep City out in the second half, we really have a chance for a point here, if not 3.

City should have had at least one penalty, mind...

True, but that was at 1-0, no way to know how we'd have replied after that.

Incredible luck from City there. At 2-2 Villa should have had a penalty, Benteke was wrongly called offside.

First time in six years that the visiting side has had more possession than City at Etihad.

Both sides had good penalty claims. Makes up for the 3-2 last season!

Hope Villa don't 'do a wigan' or rather, I hope they do half of one and win the cup and stay up. On that performance and looking at their run in they should be well clear.

Yeah Villa are pretty much safe imo especially if they keep playing like they have. Thought we were shit tbf.
Will be good (if they stay up) to see how Tim pushes them on next season.

We're not safe at all, being the better team and not getting points means fuck all. But once again the outcome of a match is down to the officials rather than the players, I wonder if that'll ever change?

Just seen Guzan's assist - deary me

Villa totally revitalised under Sherwood although - they play with an energy about them, and there's no chance in hell of them coming down.

Unfortunately, that's not quite true. We're playing well but have still been dropping silly points here and there. This is one of them, because of the ref unfortunately. Swansea where we conceeded a last minute goal also. Man United battered us unfortunately. Still, we should stay up with Everton (h), West Ham (h), Southampton (a) and Burnley (h), we could theoretically pick up 12/12 up from those, and honestly I'd be looking at at least 7 from them, which will see us comfortably safe imo.
