United still not convincing, despite their league position. The Everton result looked good on paper, but anyone who watched it knows it was more about Everton waving the white flag before they'd even walked on the pitch than any spectacular play from United.

Away win for me, Sterling again stepping up in Aguero's (surprise) absence.

1-3

Elaborate on this? I'd question if you watched the game because it was certainly more about United playing well and getting the tactics right than it was about Everton being bad.

Enjoyed this from Gary Neville on the differences between how we set up against Arsenal and Everton

Everton made no attempt to win the game and reverted to a classic Moyes style, which must be disappointing for those Everton fans that thought Martinez coming in equated to no longer taking it from behind against the bigger teams. Their game plan consisted of a shit attempt at not losing rather than any attempt at winning. United did what they needed to do and Everton made it easy.

Everton tried but couldn't break us down, mainly due to Smalling playing so well against Lukaku and the way our midfield defended. As Carragher alluded to in the video above they got a bit more success at the start of the 2nd half when they swapped Naismith for Kone and went more direct but we held out and killed them off with the Rooney goal.

Utd played well the other day, but City look too strong for everyone at the moment in England.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

I particularly liked this comment about Schweinsteiger by Neville, "Cazorla, he had him on a lead. It was like a man with a ball saying to a dog ‘come to get it off me, come to get it off me’, and as soon as he gets near him, he throws it off to Mertesacker. It’s like ‘Come on, come on doggie’. He’s toying with him."
The "woof woof" sound effect just made it perfect,

United will have learned their lesson and will set up for a draw. No chance they will try to dominate or go forward against city.

We are a much better team than United, even with Aguero and (more importantly) Silva out. That said, I'm dreading Sunday and don't have a good feeling about it at all. I'd take a draw if offered now, so we can get this one over with and stay top of the table for next week.

No Aguero or Silva, so only one outcome for me.

Man Utd to win this 2-1

You should have the best team in the world with the amount Mansour has paid for it.

I suggest you do a direct comparison of cost between United's and City's average starting 11.

Yet football's a squad game. Also, doing that doesn't account for the waste Mansour has spent.

We should be much better for what we have spent, I won't deny that, but even we don't hold a candle to City.

Would love this to be a disappointing 0 - 0 draw. However, I feel City are just too strong, will take all the points and maintain their advantage at the top of the league.

Utd 1 - 3 City

We simply need to beat a Man City team without Silva and Aguero. I'll be incredibly disappointed if they beat us without arguably their two most important players. KDB is the man to watch. Keep him quiet and we'll be fine.

I know they were a bit quiet through the week but Sterling and Bony looked to be developing something good last weekend. They may do some damage but keeping De Gea helps big time I suppose.

United should be winning this against a team without their two best players.

There's 11 players out there and won games last season without any strikers at all. More of an issue for me is if Kompany plays.

Looking at that city midfield I'd expect us to have more of the ball for the inital 20 mins or so. If we can get a goal in that time I reckon we'll win pretty comfortably.

If we don't or City sucker punch us on the break I'd make them favourites.

Bet365 is doing their free in play bet offer for this if anyone is interested.

I reckon it'll be a draw. Hopefully it'll be an entertaining match.

Surprised Rojo starts over Blind but apart from that they are exactly the teams I was expecting.
