The Herrera situation is quite annoying, one of our more creative players when he managed to get on the pitch last season yet once again finds himself marginialised. His pass and movement driving the play forward is very much what we're lacking in the midfield against teams who'll sit back more.

That was like the Battle of Helm's Deep. Fair play to Newcastle. Seems Depay needs a bit of time to settle, looked like he could become a decent player.

Scholes on VG- "'He said "fantastic" a few times. I didn't really think there was anything fantastic about it at all,' Scholes said on BT Sport. 'You are at home to Newcastle, you are expected to win the game. The visiting keeper has one save to make. Fantastic? No, not for me.'"

The problem at United is that they have too many good attacking players, but LVG don't know who should start. Rooney is undroppable but inconsistent. Depay and Januzaj are expected to be their next superstars. Herrera obviously has the ability. Young, Fellaini and Mata formed the most effective combination last season, but none of them are LVG's signnings. With the arrival of Schweisteiger and Schnederlin, I reckon they will be playing two holding midfielders for most of their games, which left only four places for those mentioned above.

Thought we were solid at the back, as well as having a few decent chances. Deserved our point.

It lacked that incisiveness in the end, it was a great start, could have been 3 or so up in the first 20 minutes was real high tempo play but Newcastle then settled into the game more. Second half was a lot slower but United did create a few openings and but for some vital blocks, from Coloccini in particular should really have won the game, Newcastle did offer a counter attack threat but was the definition of "one of those days" dont think it was going to go in at any point.

Dont bother with live games for utd, just watch them on more, they are usually on last.
