Draw was the fair result, ref got a lot of decisions wrong with West Ham particularly aggrieved at a couple of big ones and from a United point of view Smalling and Martial were good, Felliani was very poor.

Love the way he wheels away before the ball is in the net too. Is surely up there for the player of the year award the more he delivers these performances and moments.

Can see why Payet didn't get the penalty, but to me that's exactly the same as the Benteke flop versus Palace last week. Both players were slid in on from behind with pulled-out challenges, both players were looking to go down and win a penalty, both players got a slight touch on a trailing foot, both players went down even though the contact in both examples wasn't enough to really impede or trip up the player.

Payet gets the "diving, should be sent off" treatment, while Benteke gets the "he had a right to go down" sympathies. Neither were penalties.

Both were dives to be honest. As I said earlier in the thread, Lingard was also clipped on the heel at full flow. It wasn't in the box so he tried to stay on his feet and wasn't 'anticipating contact', so he stumbled, took a couple of steps and then went sprawling. In some amazing feat of human physiology, a light contact on his right ankle didn't make his left knee instantly turn to jelly.

Very tough for them. Lino's watching offsides and trying to track players left right and centre and the ref is watching the guy on the ball.

Very clever foul really, and I suspect he knew exactly what he was doing.
