Gary Whild has now left the club. Tim Flowers has turned down the top job, but may continue in a coaching role.
Director Colin Gordon will be in temporary charge.

Hmm.

Ah right, so no change on the financial side in terms of budget?

Interesting (but 16 minute long) interview with our new majority shareholder if anyone's interested. Basically they say they are working to generate revenue streams that from next season that would support the club financially to the point that gate receipts and bar income would become additional income. He wants to expand the club's educational side to the point where the club can obtain University status (a Loughborough/Bath type thing) and believes that this can work at this level. He wants to make us a club that supports the community more than it currently does as well.

In the short term, he's providing a 'significant' injection of cash to see us through the season. We are looking to bring in some experienced players in January, but players who can provide value in terms of supporting and educating our youngsters. He also says he knew the club was in a poor financial shape when he came aboard earlier in the year, but as they have scraped below the surface, they have discovered things such as contracts put in place by the previous regime where the terms have been alarming and he hasn't seen the likes of before.

As we've gone from one poor board to another over the last decade, I'm not jumping to conclusions yet, but he seems to be very ambitious for the club and has a lot of experience in different roles and at different levels of the game, so fingers crossed things may be beginning to look up.

I think Gordon might be increasing his input, but we've also budgeted for 1100 attendances and our game against Woking only dropped just below 1500 so we should have some money.
