Seems like Michael Appleton is off to be Leicester's assistant manager.

First casualty of this elite league?

And he's gone. Been brilliant fun supporting the teams he put out for Oxford and hope he's a success.

I'd fully understand why other L1 fans would prefer Clarke or Rosler or someone but wouldn't have traded him for any other manager at this level.

No idea what we do from here.

Oh man. Does this mean we going to have to work for our annual 6 points next season? :)

Strange to see anyone leave being a number 2 to pursue a management career, to do well and build a decent reputation, just to go back into being a number 2. I'm guessing money has talked with that one, poor timing for Oxford.

Might be his best shot at the Premiership though. Managers don't last long there so Shakespeare gets sacked, Appleton steps in as caretaker and who knows what then.

Rumour that Frank Lampard is to be named as the new manager. I assume working with the existing backroom staff and at least he would already know Derek Fazackerley.

I've been proper down on OUFC this summer but for some reason I am all in on this possibility.

It has been confirmed that Frank Lampard is being considered along with Pep Clotet (last Asst Manager at Leeds with Monk). Others unnamed are being considered along with these.

Edit: Daily Mail linking us with Dougie Freedman as well.

Grayson going might mean a couple down here are on our radar, we've got almost a million in compo to re-invest. Rosler? Grezza?

According to Rob Dorsett, a reporter at Sky Sports News Pep Clotet is close to a deal to become the new manager.

Now confirmed that Pep Clotet is our new manager.
Positive reviews from Leeds fans and those within the game. Looking forward to it.

I'm neither excited nor disappointed by this and will wait to see how it goes.

I am pleased that our coaching/backroom staff will remain the same so continuity means we can get on with it immediately. Plus they have been a big part of our success.

Appears to be a decent appointment.

Season ticket renewed (can't see why it wouldn't be unless for personal circumstances).

Reckon Clotet could be a good appointment, seemed to have a lot of influence last season on Leeds. Also if it goes well, he's less likely to be swayed off by a case of protein and a course of steriods, like Appleton.

Fair enough.

Doesn't sound like you will want to this season, so not much point in keeping saying you haven't renewed yet

Still not renewed.

Can't be anything to do with the football given this is the highest you've been for about 16 years...

It isn't, you're absolutely right and that is a very astute observation.

Ordered your Bristol City shirt yet? Any surprises?

I don't wear replica shirts as I'm not a sex offender but our home kit is smashing this season.

Sorry but I've read about 100 of your posts on the L1 forum (most pop up in my notifications!) and there's absolutely no way you own more than four items of non-BCFC clothing.

Is Alex Neil available? Or maybe blood a star in Gerrard or Giggs? Hardly any compensation needed.

I'd like Alex Neil personally. Not remotely interested in employing some unproven, big name player.

Out of this league, my preference would be Rosler over Grezza.

Huge appointment for us, need to get it spot on or else a lot of good work could be undone.
