Ah well, it was nice being a football league club.

It will be nice to reform in the lower reaches of the pyramid. Not so nice to stay there.

Aside from signing the whole East Stirlingshire squad over the summer, were you ever really that much of a basketcase outfit? I know you lot don't like him but your man Raj still backs each new manager for signings & faces fans at forums. Many of us have endured much worse down the years
We would have done a lot better if we had signed your lot from NLN days.

Raj does an interview session with the clubs media once in a blue moon, he gets one of his employees to throw him underarm questions, it's not exactly a David Frost sit down, none of us are fooled by what he has to say cos we've heard all the patter before, "Now's not the time to blame anyone" says the man who is entirely to blame, he doesn't do fan forums, he sends one of the mugs, he's not fucking stupid.
If i was the chairman i would send a teacup and saucer also, Fans really.

Usual suspects lead the race according to bet365. To be honest we're so dodgy we'd probably appoint Kevin Spacey.

Can you imagine a David Artell or Paul Tisdale coming here now? One name is a bit new. Mark Birchall. Can't say I know much about him except he was at QPR for a while.

My monies on an u23 coach with no experience.

I also expect to see our much trumpeted dof leave for pastures new.

We’re not getting anyone through the door anytime soon, we are absolutely fucked and the radio silence says it all. They have run out of money or maybe never had any and now trying to recoup what they have lost after deciding this is not for them, they will then run us into the ground and be unable to sell the club.
The only way we escape relegation is by somehow convincing Lewis Young to come back and take control of the team. We have no football people behind the scenes and our CEO/DOF has completely stolen a living - he has never been involved in football before.
Etherington left after being told there was no money to spend in January and being completely lied to, according to sources who are close to him from his Stoke days he was advised to get out now.
An EFL twitter space podcast last night was discussing the Nichols saga and even Nichols was in attendance listening, you even had current players and their partners listening in which just shows how concerned they all are.
The players were supposed to have a zoom meeting with the owners this afternoon to air their concerns but they were told no direct questions would be answered and to go back to training as usual.
I’ve seen this happen at other clubs over the years but for some reason you never think it will be your own. It all feels a bit numbing.

It sounds a complete mess, what are the fans going to do?

If you compare how good the club was feeling on our return to the league,to a year later, absolutely.
An absolute fuck up,how he could get it so wrong, god knows.
Not just on the pitch, off it is an absolute shambles also.
I mean I think we played a part in that by taking DC off you. Think he very obviously papered over the cracks of Raj’s regime.

Even though our owner has and is continuing to pump in shit loads of money it took DC to arrive to paper over our terrible DOF.

The supporters alliance has just announced free membership for a year and encouraging everyone to sign up. I think we’ll have a few more than usual *insert away following joke here* at Stevenage tomorrow to show their support to the players and discontent to the owners.
Preston Johnson (main Wagmi guy) has apparently just landed in the UK to address the situation on the ground, he wasn’t planning on coming back until March

You guys need to unite and force them out before it’s too late, they clearly don’t know what they’re doing and I doubt they have any money either.

Batshit decisions on and off the pitch, arrogant demeanour, skin thinner than tracing paper. Treats all his employees like shit. Nobody stays for long under him, complete lack of plan and vindictive nature (see DC). Takes more money out the club than he puts in.

He allows managers to sign players but only up to a certain ceiling. We consistently pay poor wages, has no concept of paying people what they're worth. No ambition. We are basketcase in terms of the decisions he's made, I mean allowing an unproven manager to sign half the Highland league isn't basketcase? We might not be getting liquidated soon but I'm suspicious he'd happily plunge us in the shitter if he needs to.

DC leaving was a massive blow, but we could have kicked on if Raj had got the next managerial choice right.
Lee was ok,but the feel good factor slowly ebbed away, while the twat from over the border was an absolute disaster.

Was that the statement to allay fears?

Probably gone up tenfold.

Statement from co-chairman Preston Johnson below. It's all OK Crawley fans, your yank owner who hasn't got two clues about football, or running a football club is going to be in the dugout and take a fully hands on approach in football matters. Who really is going to want to work under those conditions? It wouldn't surprise me if he appointed himself.

Crawley Town Football Club can confirm that assistant coach Darren Byfield will take charge of the team for today’s match against Stevenage and Monday’s game with Newport County. Club co-chairman Preston Johnson will also be in the dugout to show his support to Darren, the staff and the players.

Ahead of the match, club co-chairman Preston Johnson issued the following statement:

“It’s no secret that this season hasn’t gone the way any of us who care about the club had hoped or expected. After a half season of consistently unacceptable results, it has become clear that significant changes are required to set things right, both on and off the pitch. We now have two big opportunities to begin the necessary transformation by appointing a new permanent manager and reshaping our squad in the impending January transfer window. And while achieving the type of reset that our football performance and culture needs is unlikely to occur overnight, the importance of this moment cannot be overstated.

That is why I have opted to fly back to the UK and take a more direct, hands-on role during this crucial period, especially as we remain actively engaged in the recruitment of an experienced and proven manager to guide the club forward. It is imperative that we use these next two games to gather as much information about our current squad as possible to inform our actions in the transfer window. That includes selecting players who have received fewer opportunities in league contests to date, to ensure that our football operations team can properly evaluate them in this setting. I look forward to working collaboratively with Darren and the staff to ensure that we are utilizing this interim period as effectively as possible to set the club up for a productive January and, most importantly, for greater success in the long-term.

I know that many supporters are disappointed and angry about the current state of the club. I hear you, and I share your frustration and take responsibility for that. Crawley fans deserve a team and a club that makes them proud on the pitch and in the community — and I remain deeply committed to ensuring we live up to that responsibility.”

What on earth has shots got to do with things? It's what you do withose shots.

Lewis had 6 league games in charge and Crawley won 3 and drew 3.

Can’t believe I’m defending them but he’s basically saying they were really lucky to pick up the points they did which I can kind of understand.

Everything else in that statement is mental though.

I quiet enjoyed watching a football league club. We had some interesting match ups and some exciting times.

When I started watching I'd have laughed in your face if you said we could get to division 3 of the football league. My goal was to reach the Southern Premier and play against teams like Chelmsford, Dover and Dartford on a consistent basis.

All those years and I'm left thinking that may be my hope again soon.

Ah well.
