Is the guy at Salford under pressure? Nigel Wood.

Neville may grin and bear it for longer I reckon.
Is it a running joke on this forum, or do people here genuinely not know the name of Salford's manager? Not going to say it in case it's a Scottish play thing. I do appreciate it's rarely worth bothering to learn their names, until they lead other teams to promotion.

The one time they actually stick with a manager is the one time they should've got rid

Him and Phil Hurst over at Grimsby are worrying every time the phone rings at the moment.
Maybe Wood is lucky they have a match tomorrow. Clear week and Giggs might have moved in. Unlikely cup win would buy him more time.

If we want to give him his full title, it's actually "Under Fire boss Phil Hurst"

Under fire from the fans but not a chance Stockwood will get rid any time soon, in the National League we went through a run of 1 win in 12 and also lost 8 away games on the bounce and Stockwood was later asked if he had any thoughts about getting rid at any point and he said it hadn’t crossed his mind for a second.
One of the safest jobs in football Pete Hurst.

Dave ‘Chally’ Challinor, Phil ‘Paul’ Hurst and Phil ‘Phil’ Parkinson are all underperforming at the moment. Phil Cook from Chesterfield might be a good option should any of them get the boot.

Any word on Neil Atkins? Does he fancy the Tranmere job full time?

Are the Notts fans on here trying to get higher division clubs off the scent by saying he isn't actually THAT good?

I think we’re saying that in order for Williams to work, any club that wants him needs to suffer through 12 months of Burchnall first. So Championship teams need to get him in asap and we’ll circle back to the bald prince next year.

I think it'll be a big step up to Wolves next summer but at least we'll get compensation out of it.

I genuinely cannot name a Salford manager since Alexander.

Edit - I do remember they had that miserable bastard Bowyer, to be fair.

Does Williams way of playing rely upon having very good attackers relative to the league?

I might be completely wrong because my knowledge on Notts is pretty minimal but I never get the impression from comments on here that they're overly solid, so you wonder whether it'd go tits up if he's at a side where the attacking options are pretty average for the league.

Interesting questions and at this stage difficult to answer.

The blame for not being able to answer is our recruitment team.

If pushed for an answer "tits up" , not a chance. We spread the goals around and we have the ball lots. If we go up another level in the next few seasons then you would naturally expect us to be less specutular. We'd score less but still plenty I suspect.

When we played Forest Green, Bowyer wouldn't let any of our players go past the halfway line. The worst brand of football I've seen. His signings weren't up to much either. Probably should have spent his summer properly scouting instead of phoning up fans asking if they're going to renew their season tickets.

Figure Horseman is the next out the door. 6 straight home defeats, lost 7 of 10. Looks like the wrong appointment, yet again, from Vince.

Wonder if Sutton would ever sack Gray. His total rebuild there has gone badly wrong. Can he turn it around when their defence is so poor and there are no reinforcements until January?

Zero chance. Murmurings among morons but he’ll get full support. I actually think we’ll turn it round. Seen enough to suggest we can win games. I don’t think we’re worse than a few sides we’ve played despite results. However we absolutely have to stop haemorrhaging goals in batches. When we go behind by a goal or 2 and chase games we’re ridiculously vulnerable. This week is big, 2 home games and a chance to get some results. We’ve also now played half our games against the top 6 which shows we’ve had a really tough start.

Sutton can't sack Gray. He's done an unbelievable job there and it's the type of club where I can't see another random merry go round manager having a clue.

Hughes is terrible. Bradford should get shot ASAP.

I’m pretty sure we have never sacked a manager in our 125 year history. Pretty much every manager change has been after a resignation.

I doubt we’ll change that, even after 4 points from our first 10 games this season and 8 from the last 63 available overall.

I’d say only because the odd one has been ‘mutual’. Ernie Howe springs to mind.

With Ernie I think it was a case of his contract being until the end of that season and with it not going to be renewed it was decided mutually to not see out the season. Not that it would have made a difference that year

That's quite a sustained run of had results. Gray has done a fantastic job but nobody lasts forever, it's a very hard job keeping Sutton at this level. The next five could be telling as the tables start to stretch the more games played.

For 30 minutes in the first half Sutton bossed us. Had two goals disallowed and a few chances.

There ain't much wrong at Sutton that a few jammy wins can't put right. I did think you caved after our second goalthough. That's a worry.

We're at that point now though where it seems certain that things won't improve and Mark Hughes will have to go eventually. I don't really see the sense of continuing dead man walking like this. I know that a new manager won't necessarily result in promotion this season. In fact I'd be quite happy with a manager who had a bit more of a long term vision.

If I was a Notts fan, I'd want Swansea to start picking up some results quickly.

Williams has got Swansea written all over him. I think he has been linked before.

If any Notts fans were keen for Swansea to start picking up some results quickly their prayers have been answered with back to back 3-0 wins.

My heart agrees with the first sentence in your last paragraph. My head increasingly disagrees
