Jesus christ. Rodgers has a nack of going from laughing stock to overrated twice a season. Fickle.
What people don't realize is that while he's quite good at correcting mistakes, they're usually his own mistakes and it usually takes a while for him to correct it. Take dropping Gerrard for example, fans were calling for that since September, but it wasn't until he got injured we actually turned our form around in January. I'm still not 100% confident he won't be right back in the side once he's fit.
I wholly agree with that Bilo, but he's at the stage now with his own team who are playing well, and he'll look to bring in one or two more in the summer to be a challenging team on all fronts. They aren't too far away from that now tbh, and I do think he then needs to start winning trophies or competing every season for them from now on.While the point of football is winning trophies, we've won one since 2006 years. So Rodgers going three years without one isn't that bad in the grand scheme of things.
Wonder why they didn't make an approach for the football genius Van Gaal.
I'm not that bothered about it. As long as we're making progress, we'll get there in the end. Beat Blackburn and we've made it to two semi finals. Top it off with a finish in the top four despite selling Luis Suarez and missing our arguably most important player for half a season, and I'd call it a good season. I say arguably our most important player when it comes to Sturridge, because he certainly was at the time of his first injury in August, but obviously six months out takes its toll and it's up for debate now.I wholly agree with that Bilo, but he's at the stage now with his own team who are playing well, and he'll look to bring in one or two more in the summer to be a challenging team on all fronts. Too much of a tactical man, mate. You don't just go from someone who sends the team out to do whatever they want without so much of a thought towards tactics (Pellegrini) to a scholar who approaches the game like a great philosopher (Van Gaal). You need to take baby steps and go with someone in the middle like Rodgers
This is sensible. I'm sure any right-thinking Liverpool fan would take top 4 this season and next without winning a trophy.I'm not that bothered about it. Yep me too, though the FA Cup is there for the taking this year.I'm not that bothered about it. As long as we're making progress, we'll get there in the end. And where money doesn't talk it swears. He wouldn't want to go to City, but if they want him it could happen because money talks.

My point is just that the foundations are there in place now and with one or two good additions they should be looking to start winning things. I won't be calling for Rodgers head if Liverpool don't win a trophy this season or next if there is clear progress and the team is competitive; but after that I think trophies and becoming a regular CL side have to be a priority.
Last year was excellent but it was clear with the demise of Man Utd, Chelsea not looking quite right and Arsenal being Arsenal, that the league was there for the taking. They did extraordinarily well with the small squad and a genius, to go into the final day with half a chance of winning the league. After that and selling Suarez, the priority was always going to be to fatten out the squad for the CL and other competitions, and to get into the top four once more as the expectation was that you lot wouldn't be as bad (and that's debatable whether there has been any improvement since spending £200 mill), that Chelsea and City would fight for the league, and Arsenal to be stronger after purchasing Sanchez and getting Ozil 100%. After such a poor start from Liverpool you could see that there is a team underneath that can be competitive, that most of the new signings are getting going, that in the domestic cups they are competing very well and there is a good chance of the main priority for Rodgers and the owners of getting top 4; and if that does transpire, then I would agree with Rodgers that there would then be progression, not regression from last year.Last season Liverpool finished second and won nothing, if you are looking for "clear progress" then what would you consider to be a decent progression from that this season? Unless you are just writing this season off as one step backwards with the sale of Suarez and some key injuries.
