Think both sides will finish in the play offs.

Think you're a bit toothless upfront, Palmer Green and Rhead is definitely not a top end league two strike force. Rhead quite rightly dropped back into the conference, Palmer got relegated from this league and shouldn't be in it, and green has always been average league two/conference.

Not saying ours is that much better but Spencer has been promoted from this league, Hemmings Angol and Rose all been comfortable in the league above so...

I do think after today lincoln can get close but not convinced they will be in there.

For us I think it's important we stay in touch with the top seven until January, then we'll definitely need to strengthen our forward options.

I think Mansfield fans were all secretly petrified that green and rhead would score. Green played pretty alright. Palmer was useless as ever, twat

It's almost like a new club lol. The New Lincoln City FC formed 2016

I certainly remember the old Lincoln City , so when I visit Sincil Bank it's certainly going to be a shock for Notts fans and a new experience. Should be good
Just like I remember visiting the old Notts County. The one where your home attendance were less than the amount of ST holders you had at the time...;)

You have everything else but I don't know if you have the firepower. I loved Green but saw a little bit today what others were describing. I didn't really feel in danger at any point.

If we make it I hope we put in some much better performances on the way there.
No, we don't. Which is why it was a shitter that the Akinola deal didn't go through. We're trying to fit Rhead and Knott into the side at the minute and it's either got to be one or the other because Knott isn't a left winger, as we saw today.

As I said earlier in the thread, Rhead will end up playing less and less this season IMO. He knows what he wants to do but can't quite do it - the game is too quick for him at this level. When we've got Green working the channels, we need someone with more pace to get into the box and Rhead can't do that.

This season, we're a bit like a Cowley Braintree side i.e. not prolific scorers, but good enough defensively, so far, to stay in games and get single goal wins. I'd rather do it that way at the minute than try and open up and score 2+ a game like last season.

If you can afford to carry him he's still going to be a brilliant Impact sub. It's like when he was with us, he was such a cult hero you didn't want to see him go, but you realise that (as we've mentioned) the league standard is just too much for him. Brilliant in the air both defensively and offensively he's just the man to bring on late on.

Green also shouldn't he played on the channels, it doesn't suit his game. Whereas he's more than apt at doing so his delivery let's him down, he should be in the middle playing off a bigger lad

Did that happen? Or are you just making that up? I must of missed that game

You want to talk historic home attendances of both clubs? Be my guest Luke, be my guest lol

Not sure we've ever averaged under 4000 a game in a season, let alone under 3000 ;)

Yeah definitely happened. I can remember talking to Jacob about it over on TFF. Probably under McParland!

We've certainly managed that in the past, but were Mansfield

Yeah, I think that's the way it'll shape up.

Depends on our January business I suppose. Every single NL team would take Rhead so you'd have no trouble finding him another club.

Spot on. He got the cult status as he was just so different, he had a cracker against Liverpool (no wind up) in the fa cup as they simply had no concept of what he did, like Burnley against you last season. League 2 is at that wierd level where they're too wise to that kinda game without being spectacular.

It was like shooting bambi wien we let him go to you, but like you will do, in the cold
Light of day you can't carry people.

Get yourself a top drawer forward, and you'll be just fine.

Also went to a pub call the millers - opposite the betfred (I think) proper rough and ready but a bloody brilliant welcome, and was thrilled they let us back in after the game as well. Nice to know that with all the OTT police presence and such, that pubs like that are still out there, with decent folk

Surprised Bostwick didn't try a shot into that net :bg: To say how much he cost you he was great at going sideways and backwards, did us a big favour not creating anything. Also how is Farman still your number 1???

We have the same discussions every time he doesn't command his area, which is more often than not. Good shot stopper, hell of a kick, but too slow in his distribution and not good enough on crosses. The latter is one area that he's never really improved on.

Cowley has already commented twice this season about his distribution being too slow and sometimes not good enough, unlike Vickers who decision making is incredibly quick (admittedly based on fairly limited viewing). IMO, he's another one, like Rhead, who'll be given a chance but perhaps have someone in his place in the later stages of the season.

Am pretty sure we will strengthen strongly in January. A DC side inherently finishes the season better than the start and we must have a large stash of cash set aside to challenge. All depends if we are still within striking distance of that challenge though as we have a dangerously small squad to choose from up to then. It's a bit of a gamble IMO and one that could well backfire if we pick up one or two key injuries.

Evans and co told our bench to fuck off again at the end, will he ever become a grown up?
He was also shouting and swearing in the tunnel post match when kids were about.
We paid the price for one lapse yesterday, the sides pretty much cancelled each other out.
Thought we had the better of the first half and when Green went round the keeper and didn't shoot I was baffled!
You had little spell when Rose came on that lead to the goal (falls over a bit doesn't he?)
Two smoke bombs from the Mansfield end...
Disappointing on to Notts..

Agents Green and Rhead both had good games for us.

Rhead needs to stay at conference level.

I feel like we have so much more to offer, it's a great win though.

Lincoln reminded me of them years ago with Keith in charge, they have always had that sort of stigma with them in the league.

Angol and Rose up top next please.

Angol and Rose is a must. What exactly does Hemmings do? Again, he offered absolutely nothing on Saturday, and once we upped gears in the 2nd half while bringing Rose on we looked a much better side and had much of the 2nd half.

It's just whether Rose and Angol work together, they didn't seem too clever last time they started.

I'd looked as well. I was impressed with our defence, admittedly we'll come across much better than Green, Palmer and Rhead, but we handled it well. I think Lincoln will do better to have some more attacking options - it was one of those games where a lucky chancer might have got a goal from a deflection.

It seems almost as if we've the defence and midfield sorted, just sometimes the link play between midfield and the forward options doesn't always work as well as it could. Danny Rose was the best forward on the pitch by a mile.

Not many sides will go to Lincoln and win, that's for sure.

Really? Can't say I've read all the posts on there, but I think it's been pretty much called how the game went.

Very condescending tone across the board.

Tbh, if that were the only Mansfield game i'd watched, I wouldn't be very impressed with that first half especially, and we didn't really deserve to win, we were pretty lucky - if we had played someone like a Luton or an Exeter we'd have probably have lost.

I'm pretty encouraged we can play like that, go to somewhere like Lincoln and win (let's face it, we were comfortable after we went 1-0 up)
