28 goals in 6 games between the sides at Field Mill!

This time last week I'd have no problems predicting a home win but with the good news Newport got last week regarding the fans owning the club and the new manager followed by a point against Exeter I don't think it will be as straight forward as we had hoped.

That said we are on a good run but we need to start picking up 3 points at home, Despite being unbeaten we have only won 1 home game and drew the rest.

Hopefully after last weeks comeback we will be focussed and go out and complete the job!

Hoping we can nick a point here, Mansfield seem to be in decent form though so it will be a good one if we manage it.

How's Chapman been doing so far this season?

IMO he's been doing alright. Not as impressive as some of the new lads have been but he's not been bad. We seem to be much more creative this season, Trying fancy short free kicks and corner routines etc. We have scored from alot of set peices this season and he seems to be involved in most which is a positive. Hopefully he puts in a performance Saturday like he did for you when against us!

Also, Some refs seem to go on the rep of teams/players when it comes to dishing out cards etc.

The ref of this is the same one who came on to talk to our squad after we picked up about 15 yellow cards over 2 games

Will gladly take another point from this game. Sheridan will need a few games to get his ideas across so another improved performance and a point will do me just fine.

We should win this fairly comfortably, particularly on the back of two impressive wins away from home. 3-0 Stags.

Having missed out on some very winnable matches in September under TB, a difficult looking few games ahead but agree, would happily settle for a point here.

This game is such a potential banana skin for us. If we do have serious aspirations of challenging at the top end of this league though it's one we have to go out and win. Hopefully we go in 1-0 at half time as no one has conceded less than us in England in the 2nd half of games this season!

One of those games where half of you thinks it should be a 3/4-0 score line and another where you think it could be a dodgy 0-1.

2 excellent results away last week. We need to build on this - 4 points from Newport and Bristol rovers is certainly possible if we play to our strengths.

Would be good if we could get over 3,000 for the game

ah I remember the confidence oozing from Carlisle fans as we prepared to face rock bottom & winless Newport at home.

Again, I don't think many are over confident, this is Mansfield after all

Very wise. Our players went onto the pitch thinking it was a formality.

Well, after losing 1-0 to Accrington earlier in the season and struggling against the dog & duck last week the players should be firmly on the ground.

On occasions Murray has been too negative for some fans liking, especially early on at home - but in situations like this his cautious approach will benefit him

Murray did say that was because we were a new side still needing time to gel. We have now so I expect we will be very attacking tomorrow. It was a positive that he thinks we still aren't even at 50% of where he wants us, We shall see.

Newport will be up for it to impress the new manager. Two new signings in time for the game as well apparently.

Newport will be up for this game and with the new manager effect they certainly wont be a push over. I think it will be a low scoring game. 1-0 to the stags.

Good win, good performance. Newport gave us a couple of scares after taking the lead with their subs coming on, there is definitely something there that might keep them up.

Goal of the season from Benning. Superb volley once again. I hope we can hang on to him come January!

Good lord that was some goal, one of those goals you will talk about in years to come.

In fairness, I thought despite the result the performance was average, even pedestrian in the second half letting Newport in on goal twice.

What was good was the effort, the closing down, the commitment, the short, sharp passing - even though the final ball was often not quite there.

Yousifs goal was also excellently taken.

What was also encouraging was the crowd - over 3,000 home fans.

I found the first half frustrating, constant balls in to the box that the keeper always managed to get hold on too. Stepped up a notch in the second half and came out deserved winners though, Newport had very little upfront.

What a goal by Benning though, also don't forget the assist from Thomas! Most people would have pinged that straight to the box.

Adam was you watching a different game ? Average ! You mention the 2 times Newport got in IN 90 MINS , we totally dominated them for the entire game , we were thoroughly professional today and while Newport come to frustrate they were lucky to get into ht at 0-0 their keeper made 3/4 fantastic saves today it could of been 6 , Newport were as bad as we were under cox !!! They were shite and their manager has got a tough job on turning them round

Of course I watched the game.

I genuinely thought our performances in draws at home were better than that one, the goals themselves were outstanding, the forward options we have this season are highly promising.

My point of the post was that it's fm encouraging that we don't play our best but still easily win, score goals and also don't rely on one person for the goals.

I thought the first half for instance was distinctly average 7-8 balls into the box straight to the keeper.

That we won 3-0 and I'm saying we can do better should be celebrated, we've a good shot this season, a real good shot

I don't think we were much better than average to be honest.

Fair enough but , we won every 2nd ball , our running to close down and screening play was excellent , the passing was good , creativity , everything was there today and every player played well and did there job top draw IMO average or slightly above average would be a harsh reflection IMO of course :)

I thought we were good but it was against an awful Newport side. Beat Brovers and ill start to believe we are good enough

At times it felt like we were literally just walking around, it was a good win though and I'll be happy if we can keep this up next week.

I guess again I'll be on my own but I though Newport were ok, they most certainly offered more than Crawley, their big concern like us last season was their attacking options, all over the place, when 1 on 1 in their main attack the last touch was shocking.

If Sheridan can address the forward line they should be alright

Didn't get his name, but had a pretty skilful midfield lad

3-0 against a team with Scot Bennett in fucking midfield is some achievement.
