What gift? I must have missed that.

The wombles are an odd lot.

I thought we played well tonight and what was pleasing is the players did give their all after Saturday which wasn't ideal.

Odd how football provides mini bogey sides, we again avoided defeat for the 4th time in a row against them days after making it 4 games in a row without beating bury.

It was good we scored late on, but we really shouldn't have had to wait so long for the winner

the bit where Winfield got the back stuck between his feet and fluffed the clearance straight to your player

Tell you one thing, he looked alright - despite that, and you've done well to get him on loan longer. Any chance you will get him perm?

Fuck Mansfield, getting themselves out of trouble and shit. It would have been hilarious watching them go to non-league again :-(

Not a fan of Wimbledon, Club screams tin pot conference team that attracts a few decent players because of their location. Don't think they'll ever be more than a mid table team. Almost as bad as Crawley and Fleetwood, Id like some of the proper football league clubs back in the league to replace this lot.

Good win for the boys, Lets secure safety and start to look forward to next season, Murray is building a proper mansfield side again!

Ha ha thats very poor trolling. Maybe come back and try again when you are above this tinpot outfit in the league table. Yes you can if you wish classify this as a chomp or whatever you were looking for.

Decent win considering everyone bar York below us won aswell!

We shouldn't of even been giving them a chance to get back into that last night but we got the deserved winner. Hartlepool will be tough

Location is still key.

Personally, we do quite well with the loan system given the Sheffield and Nottingham clubs, plus Leicester and Derby are on our doorstep.

As for Wimbledon - I have mates who reside in Clapham just around the corner and go visit a few times a season, bloody lovely place - go for the weekend next year. (though I was suspicious of the vodka that came out of a tap)

Not being funny , but how can a club which gets gates of about 2100, well over a 1000 less than us, call us Tinpot?. If anyone is the tinpot side, I think it is you.

Don't know what my Mansfield counterparts are talking about, from what I saw we nowhere near deserved to win. I thought we was very fortunate to come away with the win, we scored from a deflection and sliced clearance. But we've had out fair share of awful luck this season so I have zero sympathy with the Dons who simply wasted their chances.

Riley and Taf were awful again and Akinfenwa had a field day, there was only Jamma who actually got anywhere near him. Why Muzz didn't start Sutton who's our strongest player I don't know, especially given how shite Taf was Saturday. Bingham did well coming off the bench again and must start Saturday against Hartlepool especially given his time there.

Sutton is shocking, he's the worst Right back in this league, unless of course you mean start him at Centre back then I agree, Riley is wank.

I think Sutton has come on leaps and bounds personally, Would rather have him in the team than not at the moment. I'll be glad to see Riley on that release list at the end of the season.

It's just his distribution, It really is awful. Something all of our defenders bar Elder lack is decent distribution. How can we play any half decent football when our players can't pick a basic pass!

Just seen the highlights out of curiosity because of the responses of this thread..

1) Mansfields second is a shite goal, but makes up for the miss in the 1st half with the crossbar
2) The lead up to that crossbar chance is basically Mansfield all over, aimless punt upfield
3) Do Mansfield not know the handball rule? They got penalised for it about 5 times against us and again on Tuesday

1) Shite if your a Wimbledon fan, Elder did brilliant to get past his man and get a cross in. The bobbly pitch probably didn't help and then Bingham showed strength and composure. Then again it's no surprise our best move of the match is one you consider to be shite.

2) If you notice, the Wimbledon player who was marking Kee knocked it aimlessly upfield himsefl, McGuire, who like Elder had a great game the other night picked a great pass. Kee was unlucky.

3) Taffazolli is having a mare, I have no idea what he was even trying to do there, It could of cost us and had it been Riley who had done that Stagsnet would of gone into meltdown!

Just a side note, someone mentioned earlier Beevers goal being a deflection, I can't recall one. Looks a nicely struck strike to me.

1) Shit goals happen, it is league 2. It shouldn't have been allowed to happen, it was more a defensive mistake, fortunately we were able to finish the game with a win. We conceded a really shit goal to lose the match on Saturday - I mean, bumbling off a defender into the top half of the goal, it happens.

2) Murray has done a very good job of mixing things up - to quote you (or something along those lines) "Mansfield are odd, they can outfight Stevenage but outpass Plymouth" - we were pretty physical at Wimbledon and won 1-0 despite being down to 10 men for 60 minutes or so - it was obvious Wimbledon weren't a physical side like you guys were - you could pass it and hold the ball up and bully the midfield like you did - we did that again and it paid dividends. If it works against certain opposition, why wouldn't you employ it?

3) As for the handball, they are stupid, the handball by Ryan for the penalty was completely needless as Wimbledon didn't really look like scoring, and it could have been a big issue had we just gained the 1 point given other results.

Taff is having a crisis at the back, Hasn't looked steady since that Bury goal at the weekend. Riley would of been on Twitter no doubt if Stagsnet were shredding him.

Elder looks an absolute talent, would love to see him back on loan here next season but I reckon a L1 club will come in for him on loan.

I disagree about Taff, I think he had a good game and dealt with Akinfenwa very well, he certainly won more headers against him than he lost.

One moment of madness does not automatically mean a bad game.

Yeah I did mean at centre back in place of Riley or Taf which would have made sense, though I do think you're being incredibly harsh saying he's the worst in the league. He's not going to bomb down the flanks like Elder as he's never been told or allowed to, plus Elder's been coached to a much higher standard, but defensively you'll be hard pressed to find anyone as consistently solid at this level than Sutts.

Think you're maybe expecting a bit much from the worst fully professional division in English football. If our defenders could distribute like you say then they'd too be playing for a top level side like Elder is, though I do think there's some room for improvement.

Ours really is awful though mate, everytime Riley has tried to play the ball out this season we've ended up in trouble. Sutton is a good defender, but he's not a right back I'd like to see him back in at centre half, alongside Taffazolli. Them two could form a solid partnership, especially if Taff finds his first half of the season form. Because before Christmas he would probably get 99% of any player of the season vote.

If we are to make a tilt at the stiffs next season (assuming a lot I appreciate) Id get rid of both sutton and riley. Neither are good enough to achieve more than where we now, far too panicky and error phone. As RC said, maybe sutton in his correct position - I hope jones is fit for next season.

As for ryan - still potential - the last few weeks haven't quite worked for him but Id back him to come good.

Id like to keep pidgeley also if possible
