Sutton have posted their match highlights (won't link as on my phone) and reckon the appeal over Ellis's red stands a good chance, looks like he gets a lot of the ball before he clatters their lad.

Tough one to call, but I thought that kind of sending off had been stopped this season anyway? He's obviously tried to play the ball so should have been a yellow?

Looks like he does get a touch on the ball, but after the challenge.

Logic of the red was last man I presume. As you say, not exactly cut and dried either way, see what happens on appeal.

Don't think there is a last man rule anymore, so that's probably why it's been rescinded.
