Granted it was just a little dig. It's ten times worse on Burton Albion's facebook page..jeez.
I agree that the vast majority of fans (maybe apart from Derby-especially the Burton ones :fish:) are decent. It is one aspect of the match day experience I miss since our rise out of non-league- banter with opposition fans. My local is now the designated away pub & we're not allowed in with our colours.

Though I will add, that I do think it's out of order to want any club to go out of business, it's not what any of us want to see.

Went ground hopping a few weeks ago and ended up at Stafford Rangers. The bloke who runs the clubhouse (least I think he runs it) is a Wolves supporter. We got talking to him and his attitude towards it all was quite pragmatic and in all honesty the vast majority of supporters we've come across have been the same. We've upset a lot of people in the past 8 years of being in the football league but funnily enough it's mainly the ones you actually meet and speak to that are absolutely fine.

It's the way modern football seems to be now sadly, I've been guilty of it myself. Most fans probably think Burton are ___ because they don't know any of your players on football manager/ fifa or some crap like that.

Don't get me wrong, pissed off was an understatment when you got your two late goals against us (I'd be the same if it was any team) but then again you more than deserved it. It's just the same standard "I can't believe we've lost to Burton" mentality, but hey, you are here on merit on how good you have been in recent years, and more than deserve to be here.

Probably didn't help that one of my favourite Wolves players in recent years Michael Kightly scored against us too!

I love it when people base a whole fan base on a small handful of opinions on an online forum. No fan likes to see tactics like those (we certainly didn't time waste and hackle the ref in the game at yours), but most of us can understand why you did it. Maybe base us on the ones you met in person, and our announcer wishing you all the best at half time.

I did notice your stadium announcer made a point of mentioning us and it was appreciated. He was probably the best I've seen/heard in a long time. Did his job by keeping most people entertained at half time, made Lee Hendrie sound semi interesting...

Highly doubt they were serious comments. I've often said it before in jest. In fact I said it a few days ago about Cheltenham upon learning that their ground is now called The World of Smile Stadium...

Completely agree. It was probably lost on many Huddersfield fans that Jackson Irvine the Burton goal scorer was playing for Australia in a world cup qualifier just a few days before the game- and scored a goal. Yes, even little Burton now have international players!

I think everybody would be pissed of if you cheated the whole game, 10 men behind the ball and then scored a 96th minute winner...

I'd give it Walsall fans. Never come across such an angry set of supporters before for no reason whatsoever. Constantly moaning about us for having the cheek to invade their league and spend a bit of money on a few players who cost far less than what we had the season before. Heard they've been doing the same with Bolton this season and Wolves before us. Already seen some snide comments about us coming down again next season, and some moaning that once again they have no chance of beating us. Must hurt seeing so many teams pass them on the way up as they've remained stuck in third tier mid table obscurity for the past 20 years. That and being the smallest Football League club in the Midlands.

Other than them, any set of supporters who moan because they believe they have a divine right to be in the Premier League simply because they have a bigger fan base than other clubs.

I'd 100% agree with this. They were hilariously bitter once Dean Smith left them for us, and suddenly the manager who had taken them from a relegation battle to promotion contenders was actually not that great after all.

I agree that it's out of order to want a club to go bankrupt but u can't say that our fans are the mardiest because some of our fans on the forums were pissed off that we conceded a 96th winner...

I bet it was bloody glorious for Burton fans getting to celebrate a 96th minute winner in that away end right next to those 13 year old Huddersfield fans who spend more time giving you the Vs from the safety of the other side of the segregation netting rather than actually focusing on the game. Their hasn't been anything to shout about for us this season, but silencing that lot was great.

We got that the season we won the league despite having a negative spend

Can't argue with that all the idiots that associate with our club sit there.

Completely disagree about man utd. They are the best fans in the country without a doubt when they were getting hammered by Liverpool and city at old Trafford 2 years ago they still never shut up singing. Very very rarely do you ever see Liverpool fans boo or get on the players back either. Fully agree about arsenal and Chelsea add Newcastle to that list too. As for the tevez thing no one ever mentions it at all any more I think we lost our last two games as well not 3. Villa and wigan
What planet are you from?

Well I can't say I ever hear it watching on tv even after losses to smaller clubs, maybe a better way to put it then is they do it less than any other club?

Maybe it's the out of towners wanting instant success ? Anyway ive been at Goodison before now and heard people calling for a sub after 5 minutes. We are far worse than Liverpool i admit.

Our fans are the same, to be honest I think most are in this country. I remember some of our retards booing when we drew with you in the premier league. There is a hell of a lot of people who go to football who know fuck all about it, if your team ain't winning let's start booing and abusing them, it's the same with managers if they lose a few games then the mongs want him sacked. People are so short minded it's beyond belief at times.

Recall a few wanting Wilder out after 4 matches this season. Of course those same people now love him and have amnesia over their earlier comments. Same with us I was at the Oxford home match way back in 91/92 plenty of people booing Sheridan (I admit to groaning at some misplaced passes and his missed penalty) but nowadays I don't know 1 person who admits to booing that day. As you say suppose it's football fans in general alot of fickle fans.

I watched some La Liga match on TV the other week and some Real Madrid fans were booing Ronaldo for missing a chance (he had already scored 2 goals in the specific game) :ffs:

You're right on both accounts. It was 90/91 ( I knew that and have no idea why I posted 91/92) and my memory is poor (although I can remember the mid 80s pretty well) Got to be expected, as I'm just a silly old cxxt. ☺
