Well he has PL experience and did a half decent job at Watford and was unfairly sacked IMO

Think the trouble was a break down in trust and communication between him and the Pozzos.

It was admitted later we were wrong to get rid of Flores so soon.

Gutted they seem to be going for QSF.

I wanted them to get Steve McLaren or somebody that would relegate them.

Seems that Flores has turned them down and O'Neill is likely again... but will he still want it knowing full well they didn't really want him?

Mess.

Oh dear - who is left?

Mind you whoever it is will still get 3 points against us in a few weeks!

Should have stuck with Pulis, they were a good match and very difficult to beat.

Apparently they're insisting on Premier League experience. Why aren't they going for Koeman? Have I missed something?

I reckon they will go for Paul Lambert, his football at Villa was mind numbingly dull should suit them down to the ground.

Because they know he'd turn them down.

Absolutely. I'm not sure what the majority of Stoke fans would prefer though. Top flight and shit football or Championship and below with the possibility of decent or even exciting football. And, whilst an improvement, it's not as if Hughes had them playing scintillating stuff.

It doesn't have to be either or - Stoke is a good job (perhaps the best p4p) for any half decent manager. Problem is they were far too patient with Hughes and have seemingly missed the boat. I wasn't convinced about the Watford guy & O'Neil always has always been a mardy bastard so no surprise he cut off his nose to spite his face really. Looking at the optons now I'd go Dick Advocaat till the end of the season and appoint a younger man in the summer.

Absolute pisser this saga is.

As a Vale fan, watching their fans have an absolute meltdown when QSF turned them down was funny and now it’s even funnier that O’Neill has too.

Before those two, Rowett turned them down so whoever they approach next is literally 4th choice. That’s gotta have a massive affect on whoever else will actually go for the job.

Genuinely not bothered. I actually quite like the unique element of my club.

It is going to be fun watching Stoke appoint Paul Lambert and begin their slide back into lower league football.

The meltdowns happening on the Oatcake forum are absolutely hilarious.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
The problem is not a mass lack of options, more so the short term aspect of football has reduced prem manager options to either A: someone foreign or B: the usual collection of ‘aim for 9th’ managers who plod around numerous safe prem jobs doing nothing for years........championship going same way.

What is problem giving it to an experience stoke player or a coach.

You think Denise will let her global brand fall away from the audience of the PL? Oh you're silly. Stoke will be fine duck.
