Haha! Didnt think comment would get much love on here!
Not normally interested in Rugby unless its Six Nations or World Cup. Plus its the opening game and there is plenty of other football on over the weekend. Having said that Id still like to give the match a watch.

Does anyone know when its repeated?
Im the same. Only watch rugby during international tournaments. Being an English man living in Wales I have to pay close attention so that I can use bragging rights at work if England beat Wales. If Wales win ill claim I'm not bothered.

We did a work sweepstake on the rugby. I got the rugby heavyweights....Canada

:ffs:

I'll probably spend most of the time watching the BT Sports match. I'm a Tranmere fan tonight, used to go to PP with a mate back in the 90s so I've a soft spot for them.

Studio guests tonight are Kevin Davis and former Wales goalkeeper Danny Coyne who started his career at Tranmere and played over 100 games for them before signing for us. He made nearly 200 appearances for us and probably our 2nd best keeper in my lifetime, after Nigel Batch.

I wonder who he'll be supporting?

He came back to us in the mid 2000's too. Coyne was absolutely quality. His second spell, he kept 18 clean sheets one season. He's probably the second best permanent keeper we've had here in my time behind John Achterberg. I'd like to think he'd be fairly neutral tonight. Ex-Bolton Davies though...

Tough call. He came back here in 2007 and played another 80 games so a similar total for either of us. Always struck me as being too short for a keeper but he's had a pretty decent career considering.

Big game in the Southern League Division 1 Central tomorrow as AFCR&D take on Aylesbury FC, who are known as "the moles" according to Wikipedia, despite having a duck/swan on their badge... possibly to help distinguish between them and Aylsebury United who are of course "the ducks".

It's a big game as Aylsebury FC finished 3rd in the division last season, and occupy the same position in the (currently meaningless) table. If we're going to do anything of note this season, then this will be a game to show it.

Diamonds have also started well, mostly not quite playing to the level that this squad can, at least in my opinion. Now we need to perform in a big game. Before another FA Cup match next week it's a good opportunity to really challenge ourselves in the league, and try to put some points on the board. Hopefully Aylesbury will be interested in playing football rather than the normal weekly game of "kick Claudiu"

Nigel Batch! There's a blast from the past! Our keeper when we won this league in 87/88.
I think the games are repeated but very early in the morning or possibly after midnight tonight.

Ah Aylesbury. The indomitable Cliff Hercules.

First team I ever went to see.

I didn't realise Coyne went back to Tranmere later on. Looking at Wiki he made a total of 191 appearance for Tranmere and 181 for us, so as you say he should really be neutral tonight.

As for Batchy, he was my boyhood hero when growing up along with Joe Waters and Bobby Cumming (another player who was part of Lincoln's Conference winning team)

I even went to a game at Sincil Bank to watch them that season when you beat Wealdstone 3-0.

Fairly confident we can bounce back, we didn't play too badly at Woking and I doubt Macc will be as good as they were.
Despite us playing them off the park a couple of weeks ago?

But your right to be fair, we are pretty turd.

Decent match thread, went off on a boring tangent, no conceptualisation. 6.5/10.

We'll lose, because we're Lincoln. Next.

Yeah afraid the egg chasers get preference tonight. Have put Grimsby/Tranmere on Record.

Not in my house they don't, despite living in rugby central, egg chasing will never be watched in preference to the beautiful game. I'm really looking forward to the footy tonight and seeing how two of the fancied teams shape up. I hope that it won't be a cagey affair, and both teams just go for it, I'm sure both will be desperate for a win to narrow the gap on the top five.

3 changes for us; Pittman, Clay and Gowling in for Amond, Robinson and Pearson. Suspect Amond is injured.

McKeown
East - Nsiala - Gowling - Robertson
Arnold - Clay - Disley - Monkhouse
Bogle - Pittman

Tait, Pearson, Mackreth, Robinson, Tomlinson.

Arguably a tougher test to come on Saturday against Cheltenham than vs Forest Green three days ago. FGR had everything to lose, giving us a free hit at ruining their record. Four points from these two games, given our current injury situation, would be fantastic.

Your signing of Craig Braham-Barrett has given this game a little bit extra tonight. Words cannot describe how much he is despised by some.

I think it will be a very tough game, but at the moment we're going into every game thinking we can win, and it hasn't been like that for a few years now.

Who got before kickoff on the first use of "spectacular fall from grace" sweepstake?

Poor defending/keeping that from Tranmere. Great for Pittman to be getting on the scoresheet.

Am I the only person who thinks that there should have been a penalty to Grimsby for holding on their number six immediately before the goal went in?

Not sure to be honest, was a bit of a crowded box with hands on bodies all over the place (ooh-err). Could have given anything. I think Pittman lashing the ball home probably did the officials a favour in that respect.

FFS. Arnold has got to take a bit of blame there. Terrible first touch to give the ball away.

I can see Tranmere hitting us on the break and winning it!

Best bit of defending in the game, whoever got back onto the line to deny Arnold there.

Who is this clay? He's been awesome for you!
Bit of a wildcard signing last summer, had been at York. We all rolled our eyes and tutted at Hurst, but he had a very good season, taking Scott Brown's place. Has been out of the side over the last few games since bringing Robinson in on loan form Luton.

Shit game this, no flow to it at all. Constant stop start with fouls and sloppy passes conceding possession.

Also, why do BT Sport persist with Mark Clemitt asking the managers inane questions during the game?!
