We are in desperate need of a creative midfielder too. Perhaps Balanta could be the answer, he looked decent when he came on

DC says one's incoming this week, I believe

Spoken like a true un-biased Lincoln fan! ;)
Just because we were crap against you doesn't mean we have been crap all season, 10 away wins out of 18 can not be achieved through luck now can it?
Say what you like about Hurst but he certainly knows how to prepare for an away game. :D
I speak like I have done on this forum since it began, namely how it is, my affiliation I find irrelevant. I wasn't merely referring to our games.

Point stands. It's a poor season on the whole, very little quality.

Here's Garry Hill's interview to feed the Grimsby fans' obsession:

Cue outrage for no reason.

Also worth mentioning three blue smoke bombs were thrown from outside of the stadium into it. Very stupid, could have SERIOUSLY INJURED someone. Tinpot Wig Weirdos.

I think most people on here have been saying this is one of the worst conference divisions for quality for quite a while at least while we have been here, that said its certainly made it a lot more competitive and exciting (for some of us)

Only listened to the first few minutes but why would there be outrage to that? From listening to the game today that sounded like an honest and straight talking interview, acknowledging your mistakes and why you lost, much better than the embarrassing comments he made after losing to us last time.

So how many of you will be tuning in to BT Sport tomorrow to watch Welling v Alty?

I will be begrudgingly. I disagree with the choice but the game has a huge amount riding on it for Welling and us.

I think I feel worse after a his match than I did after the Grimsby match. At least in the latter we battled hard and almost got a point. In this one we were given the perfect start, had a reasonable first half and then completely folded in the second half, playing with no confidence whatsoever. FGR took full advantage and just physically overpowered us. They also look a threatening side and much more cohesive as a team than last season.
Again, our defensive unity has evaporated, we're playing with no pace and failing to get behind the opposition defence.

But who do we have with pace? A tricky winger with lots to prove? Oh wait... yeah. This is awkward.

Allen has a hell of a lot to answer for. I wouldn't bat an eyelid if he left right now if I'm honest, it'd give the new guy time to come in and prepare for next season (not that we'll get anywhere soon after throwing all available funds and more at the team this time). Allen and his tactical failings have put this team into the shit YET AGAIN.

I don't know what's going on with Marsh-Brown but perhaps he needs to be given another chance. Gambin had the whole of the second half and had no impact on the match.

We'll be protecting it much better next time, it'll be our most valuable asset when everyone decent leaves in the summer.

Oh I'm sure I'm feeling the exact pain you are. And I bet I'm feeling exactly how you were after 2 seasons down here as well.
We haven't finished in the top half since 2007 ffs. Being second place in the league must be really difficult for you.

That's it Grimsby fans, get your hopes up for the inevitable fall

I don't expect sympathy neither am I looking for it. But when you're top by 11 points, then lose it all by playing neanderthal tactics with a manager too stubborn/shit/thick to change things then yes, it is rather difficult.

Surely the lowest points total in years for whoever wins it?

Hang on, Urban - we (probably) have an option on Akinde's contract so a play off push is almost guaranteed next season if we are still in the Conference.

Our defence is a shambles - Saville and Stephens look utterly clueless and completely lacking any composure or confidence. And we lack a leader on the pitch. As soon as we concede or come under any pressure, we collapse.

But, it's still in our hands (somehow!)

Fair play to FGR. I missed the first half hour or so when we apparently played well but from then on, they were a threat and quite easily kept us at bay.

Under the right leadership he can be better than Puncheon/Adomah/Bolasie....it's criminal that we've allowed a talent like his to go to waste. He is as good as any player in the division on his day.

Said that weeks ago. Worst side ever to win promotion as well I'd say.

Bristol Rovers who barely score. Barnet with a pathetic defence.
Grimsby lack of consistency.
Macc who have a paper thin squad.

Take your pick.

88 points for Burton in 2009 followed by 95 by Mansfield a few seasons ago, I reckon this seasons will be somewhere between the two

I think it will be between 85-90 that wins it.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Bristol Rovers struggle a bit having lost their ridiculous unbeaten run and we will lose at least once more.

The door really is open for Grimsby and Macc and I have to say, Grimsby look to have a very good chance now.

I think there's a little less pressure on us now because we have no unbeaten record to defend. Plus that could be the kick up the backside we needed. Last time we lost we went the next 20 unbeaten. Still think it'll go down to the last game

Halifax away probably not the game you would have picked to get back on track.

I know they struggled these last two games but their home form over the past two seasons has been excellent.

Our forum is officially in meltdown.

Most have seen this coming from a long way off and have decided they've had enough. How the title is still in our own hands after the past 2+ months is beyond belief, not that it really matters as I think most are now honest enough to say that points for the playoffs are now the priority

We've not been playing at all well for a long time but the way I look at it, we've got through another tough fixture and it's still in our hands.

That might not be the case next Saturday but for now at least, we should of course be concerned but mustn't lose sight of our target - 90 points.

19 points from 9 games. 6 wins, 1 draw and even another 2 defeats will do.

With our remaining fixtures, 6 wins is certainly not impossible.

The pitch won't help but they haven't scored in the last 3 and couldn't be 10 men dartford for 75 minutes. I think our game is slightly easier than yours

Yep, agree with that.

And then we travel to Halifax the following Tuesday.

We need to win one of those games.
