Are you trying to wind me up here DSL, you list the FA Cup ties and fail to include the biggest game of the round... Of course it's Deeping Rangers vs AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

It's a very winnable game, and I think that's what makes it dangerous. We've not playing well in our cup games so far this season, barely making it past both a team in our league and a step 6 side. We should know what Deeping are all about, and I'm sure we've had them watched, however it is notable that they have changed manager and half their squad from last season (one change comes with the other at that level all the time). They are a step 5 club in the UCL and normally an upper end team in that division, having played us last season int he league they will be confident they know about us too. They aren't doing great in the league, but have been turning up in the cup having knocked out a couple of teams at our level already.

A dangerous game that we cannot go in to overconfident. We need to be careful at the back and clinical at the front. They certainly believe we are there for the taking. They also have a player dual-registered with us who has been cleared to play for them.

No Matt Sparrow for us. Luckily, his ankle isn't broken but he'll be out for a few weeks. Don't think Howe will feature either.

With Nolan not being anywhere near the squad since his transfer request became public knowledge, I suspect that youth product Keegan Everington will come in. Not sure Moyses will want to move Power from a more advanced position where he plays better.

Annoyingly we've lost 2 more players, after our appeal against suspensions handed out to David Pipe and James Jennings for sendings off in a behind closed doors game against Bath. Ridiculous that the FA have suspended them, it was a non-competitive game ffs.

What are they doing getting themselves sent off in a non competitive game? Stupidity.

Howe was doing sprints up and down the touchline pre-match Tuesday along with a few non-playing squad members so I doubt he's too far away.
We really shouldn't need two DMS against Torquay FFS we're at home!!!

Don't know tbh, apparently we took our players off in the first half so there was obviously something going on, I'd imagine some sort of brawl after a couple of bad tackles or something.

It's still ridiculous that a behind closed doors game can lead to suspensions, what next, training ground punch ups getting people banned?

If they committed the offences they deserve the punishements. Players sent of in pre-season still serve suspensions (though most refs, at least at our level, ask for them to be subbed before sending anyone off). Especially if it's for violent conduct (as alluded to in your next post).

Why not? If you did it in the street the police would get involved.

I didn't say it was necessarily violent conduct, just that the fact we walked off after having had 2 players sent off obviously points to something along the lines of our players reacting to a couple of bad tackles or similar. It normally takes something pretty bad for there to be red cards in friendlies/training games. Normally you just sub people off if things are getting lairy.

Anyway, the game in question was back in April, which makes it even worse from the FA. Incompetent tools.

To reiterate, our manager should offer his resignation if we fail to win tomorrow. I suspect to many it would be a relief anyway.

That is a bit bizarre, how come it took so long for the ban to be enforced?

Gutted that Pipey will be missing tomorrow as he has been excellent so far this season.

Dont expect there to be many of our fans there tonight, m25 was fucked all afternoon our way and after our last trip to dover many turned up late or missed the game. Getting there on a friday evening is a nightmare, plus they're showing it at our club bar which im headed to now...

Why didn't they play like this against us? Bastards.

Not the best of games, Dover isn't an easy place to go to, they haven't lost at home yet and had a good record there last season as well.

Holding the ball in the corner should be given as obstruction. Can't stand it.

Oh on the Pipe/Jennings thing, apparently the ref didn't turn up until 45min after KO and both teams were pissed off and wanted to cancel the game. Plus the ref was just some yokel who only refereed local leagues. Bath threw in a couple of bad tackles, our guys reacted badly with a few pushes and shoves that even in a normal National League game would have been yellows at best (but because he was completely out of his depth, he sent our guys off).

K's take on Southern League Premier side Dunstable Town at their Creasey Park ground in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round. It looks like a winnable tie, with us on a decent undefeated streak & the hosts sitting just above the relegation zone in their league but we've not got a good track record against teams from the Southern League plus a bit of an injury crisis will see some of our regular starters out of the game.

Predicting a tied game with us winning the replay.

Since the sad departure of Aspin, we've had our worst performance of the season (2–2 against a 10-man Southport, not appearing to even want to score until a penalty and tap-in made it inevitable), and our best (1–1 against Gateshead in far more encouraging circumstances).

Summat in between won't really do. We already need to carry the spirit from Tuesday into every game we play. Ex-Curzon Ashton favourite Sam Walker enjoyed his second appearance then and took to the role incredibly well, while Hamza Bencherif looked several times more interested in an advanced position. Build the team around them two, then Kingsley James and Jordan Burrow. Then if there's a way of pumping them up like last time, we're laughing.

Will be glued to the commentary from home. A loss is likely given how we've fared so far this season, but as we've already played most of the league's struggling teams it'll be galling.
