Can we have them mixed in with the regular forum? The Championship forum always seemed very inactive last season when compared to the L1 forum, but I think a large part of that was because of the split sections.

It's down to personal preference, I guess, so I'll add a poll to see what the general consensus is.

Think it would be easier for them to be separate personally, so you don't get cluttered with potentially 12 threads most weeks and pushing other threads lower down out of sight. If anything major or controversial happened in a match a new thread could be created in the main forum for general discussion.

I'm obviously not in this section but I think it should be done like in the L1 section.

They should be posted in the general forum here and then moved to the match thread sections after the games.

Mix them in together, but then move the threads a couple days after the match has happened to another section.

That's why I favour them being mixed in, although they could potentially clutter the forum, the matches are usually the main topic of discussions throughout the season - when pre-season is over, there isn't much else to talk about outside of the games and then it makes the forum look inactive. It certainly wasn't a problem in the L1 forum.

You don't get a choice anyway. They go in the sub-forum, and that's final.

Why?

It provides debate in the L1 forum, as I expect many forget to look in the Match Day section when looking through here.

Personally, I think it's a good idea, and the vote seems to suggest that they'd be in favour of it being mixed together.

For the reasons stated above.

I'd hazard a guess most those who have voted for changing it, are those who were in League One last season.

Tell me...why would they need moving? It makes a mess of the main forum knocking down the main threads, and it won't make any difference in terms of how many people post in a matchday thread. Just because it's there in the way looking a mess, somebody isn't suddenly going to want to post in the Burnley V Reading thread.

They probably are, as it works so well.

In the footballing season, the main debate surrounds games, so it makes sense to have them in the main forum.

It really is worth a try, having the threads on the main page as you go onto the section without having to go through sub-forums really does spark debate. Most the time in the Championship forum last year the games didn't even have a match thread!

Mainly because those clubs either didn't have fans, or had a very small number.

A tidy forum is better than one that is clogged up with numerous matchday threads.

If you want to talk about a match or multiple matches, you know exactly where to go, so I don't see the logic other than a load of former League One fans kicking up a fuss because things are different.

It would take up too much space. If every match had its own match thread in the main part of the Championship forum then there would only be enough space for a few other threads on the front page. For example, if you added 12 threads right now to the front page then there would be threads which have been posted on in the past 24 hours that would be moved to the second page. And this is before you consider when the league starts and gets running there will be more activity, more threads and lots of match threads (could be up to 24 per week...). Will clutter it up massively.

What's the difficulty in one extra click to get to the match threads part of the forum?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I genuinely feel more inclined to look in a thread and contribute if it's immediately there when I click on the forum. It having a sub-forum makes it seem out the way and I don't tend to check that section so often. It was never a problem in L1, and I'd find myself contributing to match threads outside of City's, if it was a match of interest.

It's a decision to be made by the mods and users of the forum - evidently it's quite divided so it's probably best to keep it as it is. Don't want to be seen as a newbie to the forum trying to change things :p - just expressing my opinion, is all. :)

Clearly us lot from League One prefer the other way, the Championship lot prefer the way they've always done it. Understandable, I don't see the harm in trialling it for a few weeks though, and if the Championship lot don't like it just go back to how it was. It's not a big deal

I'm sure we used to trial it and it made 3/5ths of fuck all difference, not that I am arsed either way, the 37 page thread on our opening game will be a belter of a read Sunday morning.

Especially when we lose.... All my optimism is gone on toneyts Braga game or it could be Vodka

Don't see the point in pandering for a couple of clubs' fans when the following season they'll be gone and no one would want it that way again.

Outside of the matchday I don't think match threads are that used anyway, except in some situations. I'd rather leave the main forum for topics that are relevant for more than a day.

I'd have a slight preference for all the threads being in one place, but having a sub forum is cool too.... We know where they all are only have to click another link to get there!

Seen it both ways and I prefer it the way it is now.

As for City fans saying try it. Why not try it our way first? If you think it is a lot quieter then bring it up again :)

Not sure bringing it up again would be a good idea. We're kicking up a fuss as it is, apparently.

Well ideally but no, match day threads. I think everyone should attend in the nude.
