i think you'll be releasing him in the summer if you can - or if we want him, lol
I was behind the goal for the first one, it didn't cross the line.if you look at the match highlights it was a very tight angle and did hit the post. the 1st half one that hit the post looked like it crossed the line before being hooked away. We didn't do too bad considering we had nothing to play for and had 2 central midfield players playing in defence as we had 3 defenders missing before the start and lost another inside 30 minutes
That's what we're hoping for. This really was a move that didn't work out, that was obvious by the end of August last year!i think you'll be releasing him in the summer if you can - or if we want him, lol

Skip to 9 minutes into this video for a worse one by Rob Whitton at Ebbsfleet v Kidderminster a few years ago. In an Ebbsfleet attack, Liam Enver-Marum stands on Lee Vaughan, the referee lets play go on, Ebbsfleet have a shot which hits our defender Briscoe in the face, knocking him out. The ref then gives Ebbsfleet a penalty for handball, books Enver-Marum for his foul on Vaughan (not sure how he could have let play go on at all), which is all followed by Briscoe being stretchered off. Utter madness.Made the mistake of watching the BT highlights but can say I have seen the worst refereeing decision ever. Apparently there is a new rule where if the ball hits your face it is now deemed deliberate handball. I know Conference referees are poor but this is ridiculous - the penalty decision is a disgrace to football!

Reminds me of the O'Keiffe punch into the net near the end of the match Kidderminster against us in the 13/14 season when after a 5 minute faff the ref (Brett Huxtable...............) changed his mind and the match ended 1-1.
And he only changed his mind because of your protests. Even though it was a handball he clearly had no idea it was handball but just caved under the pressure.
Brett Huxtable is just an awful ref anyway though.
Must be shit if he caves in to the noise of FGR fans, or just really good hearing!
Remember that game though I was furious as it was clear to everyone in the ground apart from the officials

I suspect the only person that really knows if it hit his arm before hitting his face is the Aldershot defender. The fact that there was little protest from either him or the others around suggests that there maybe some to it.
That said, I have always had a bit of an issue with the red card at point blank range, sometimes there is little the defendes can do to get out of the way. Always felt that just awarding the goal, with no red card would be better.
Even IF, and from the video its a big IF, the ball scraped Barker's hand/arm its still not a penalty or a red card because it has to be deliberate (which that certainly wasn't).
Handball or not, it is still DOGSO so a penalty and a red card. And it did brush Chris on the hand before hitting his face, I asked him yesterday.
If its not deliberate handball (which it wasnt) its not a foul and therefore is not a denial of a goalscoring opportunity. In giving the penalty the ref had to send Barker off - im not disputing that, what I am disputing is the terrible decision the referee made in giving the penalty.
Everyone in the ground thought it was a penalty and a red card when it happened. Having the benefit of the replays and slow motion to then call it a terrible decision is a luxury the ref didn't have. Incidently, did you think the decision not to give a penalty and send Phil Smith off against Chester was not a terrible decision, even though Phil said afterwards he couldn't believe it, given he had grabbed the blokes ankle and pulled him down?
