Torquay had more of the game than us. Sounded like only 2 real chances in the game one missed open goal for each side.

Better point for us than them, will take that.

Grimsby fans "Win our next three difficult games AND then beat Cheltenham and were ONLY THREE POINTS BEHIND."

Oh well at least you beat loads of really good (reserve) Football League sides in pre season.

Just totted it up and with tonight we have now dropped 18 points to the current bottom 7 teams, terrific.

Decent result for Grimsby tbf. Was always going to be tough with such a big and finely balanced semi against Bognor Regis coming up this weekend.

My word Lincoln were bad.

We're actually going to make the play offs aren't we?

Just go easy on us this Saturday, you looked a very good side at ours in the trophy.

On our day we can beat anybody in this league, Payne and Miller are unplayable at times. Sometimes they just don't seem interested - usually against weaker opposition (hence the defeats to Stourbridge and Nantwich)

What are you implying? It was factually correct. Not many of us thought we would actually do it.

I'm implying that the fact some Grimsby fans thought you had even an outside title chance was ridiculous.
But it wasn't THAT ridiculous. A top three side should be winning the games in hand we have and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if we go and beat Cheltenham. Coupled with needing them to drop more points, yeah of course it's a long shot but by no means were we a million miles away before tonight.

To say we had an outside title chance was valid and hardly ridiculous, though it's easy to call us out after we've fucked it up.

At least we'll get to play the veggie eaters off the park in the playoffs.

Three attempts on target and two goals, you could almost call us clinical! It's just so frustrating that we are so consistently inconsistent :ffs:

Ball's still in our court, just.

Phew.

Well done Shaymen. Despite having the Pirlo of Halifax on their side, Torquay sound tough to beat and seem to be Braintreeing themselves out of the relegation zone.

Exactly. I don't think a single poster who mentioned it on here did so without a "probably won't happen but..." disclaimer. None of the other teams would have even mentioned it had they just gone down to FGR and beaten them though, would they?
Also, look at Chris FGR too big for the trophy now that his team have been top of the Conference for a combined total of four days in their entire history.

Well done Guiseley. I can see Grimsby spending another season in this dire league.

I did previously offer everyone on this forum £1,000 if Grimsby won the title so not exactly "calling you out after you fucked it up".

By my reckoning you must have had at least 5 on target.
2 goals, both goals from rebounds after McKeown saves, and first goal from a corner after a McKeown save.

FGR will rip you another arse hole in the play-offs. Sadly your team hasn't got any quality.
Is this the same FGR that Grimsby played off the park on TV the other week? Cheltenham will win the League, deservedly as by far the best side in the division. There's nothing between the rest despite the illusion created by the Stepford Whores FC points gap. Guisly repeatedly finished second in Conference North and always fell short in the Play-offs. I'm looking forward to Vince's "invincibles" meeting Grimsby in the play offs. Grimsby will humiliate them, again. :ds:

From what I've seen Grimsby are the best side in this league bar none. Cheltenham weren't all that both times we played them. Honesty think we could beat anyone over two legs in the play offs. Be a tragedy of Forest Green go up over Grimsby though

When we play well, we are the best team in the league. Sadly, that just doesn't happen enough and that's why we draw so many games, against inferior opposition (sorry Torquay and Guiseley fans).
