The lads will be gutted to leave Prenton Park without a point. Ah well bring on Bromley at home

Any reason why Welling/Southport are still playing at this time?!

At last...wild celebrations...we've won one nil. Sick winning of 4-0, 4-1 and 7-0 etc. We need to win tight games to go up...

Regulation drama-free win, 3-1 utterly flattered that Torquay side.

Just waiting for the smaller clubs like FGR and Dover to get reffed out of the play-offs and we're laughing.

Injured referee.

Welling were fucking dreadful again. So were Southport, but less so... Their keeper didn't make a save.
Our inexplicable defeat to the former is still rankling a month on, I hope we batter them next week, they're well overdue.

The second half of the season phenomenon known as The Fade is on the horizon for those sides.

Chester must be crap this year I reckon.
They weren't great against us, again, another side where the scoreline (3-2) flattered them. Burr has had remarkably little press considering some of their poor performances, although 13th is around where you would have expected them to be at the season's beginning.

Avoidance of defeat against Dover would be a very good result for them.

Good solid side are Grimsby, beat us fair and square and left us devoid of ideas on an afternoon when we looked out of sorts really. Far better than Cheltenham and better defensively than FGR. Anyone who finishes above them will be champions.

Well done Woking. Can have no complaints about that. You are definitely our bogey team. Worst 2 performances this season: Woking away and Woking home. You can always rely on us if you're having a bad patch that we'll help you out:

2nd double of the season as well for us.
8 wins in 11 for us now.
Great bounce back from the cup defeat.

Woking win at Chester, as usual.

Rode our luck at times, with Chester hitting the bar and later the post, but we did enough for the win. And we deserved a bit of luck sooner or later anyway.

Like the look of Joe Quigley. A more mobile version of Adam Cunnington, who got injured vs Macclesfield. Good to have Ricketts back in midfield, he wins so many battles in there. Bloody love John Goddard. Hate to think where we'd be without him.

On Chester, there's *something* there. Showed, briefly, flashes of nice play but they don't pass it on the floor enough, mainly because they don't have the personnel to do so. I felt a bit sorry for John Rooney today. He never hides and always looks to get on the ball. At one point he went and got it from a throw-in in the left back position. He looked up to see all the Chester players doing nothing, looking back at him. He's one of Chester's more dangerous players yet when they were chasing the game, Burr took him off. Hobson came on shortly after, so surely you'd want Rooney on the pitch for his delivery? And one last thing, in Chester's starting XI there was only about two or three players over 6ft. Woking aren't a massive side either but you could clearly see the difference in height. Very physical league this, Chester could do with two taller blokes in midfield. Burr under pressure.

We can't hit a barn door and Wrexham were able to do it once, and as a result they won.

My biggest gripe is with Jake Gallagher - today was the 3rd CONSECUTIVE start where he was sent off. Unacceptable and I would rather play with 10 men than see him play for us again, as harsh as that sounds.

He's slightly overrated by most of our fans, some of his tactics have been very questionable this season. Saying that he is working on a very small budget and I reckon under most managers we'd be in a relegation battle.

Been poorly for a while and went today as a treat, wish I hadn't allowed myself to be persuaded. Total total rubbish. Credit to Halifax, you'd have thought they had the extra man. We are clearly not playing for Crosby whose decisions to play loanee kids instead of established players continues to baffle a lot of us. If we hadn't fluked a few wins earlier in the season we would be in serious trouble, mind you we are heading that way pretty fast. Crosby has to go.

Mmmmmm the heady heights of 17th place. That was a seriously low quality game.

Burr's a master at playing players out of position. I mean today he started Mahon & Roberts out of position, Rooney almost out of necessity and then brings Dyson and Hobson on out of position. Although Dyson did end up in the middle after the break

Also I've no idea at this stage of the season why he still picks Jordan Chapell, absolute garbage player, so weak and ineffective, can't even keep a corner in play.

I'm down-hearted after that performance. Chester fans thought that because Woking were one win in 10 they'd be a pushover. They did the simple things better than us and wanted it more, which I find worrying. Feel sorry for Ross Hannah, who despite his lack of inches and support has somehow got 8 league goals in a very poor team. Paul Carden was at the match today and how we could do with someone like him in the team.

I don't think Hannah would have come here if he'd known this is how we'd be set-up. No support at all, I thought again he did pretty well today, as well as can be expected anyway.

I want to see Burr drop this 'man in the hole' role, it doesn't work for me and leaves Hannah too isolated with no bigger guy next to him. That does leave an issue of where to play Rooney but I'd give him a go out wide, where he played when he first joined us. He's got no pace to beat a man but could at least put in some decent crosses for two strikers to attack.

Let's hope Michael Kay puts his retirement plans on hold as Sharps picked up his fifth booking today, so as things stand it's a complete mystery who'll start alongside Heneghan on Tuesday. To be honest my first doubts about Sharps crept in to my mind today, his legs are going pretty fast.

Cruel way for Guiseley to lose with Tranmere scoring 3 minutes into added time in each half. Guiseley should of taken the lead after 7 minutes but for a fine double save from Scott Davies with McNulty at fault. Sweet strike from Boshell to put the visitors in front. Rovers missed a host of chances to get back into the game and only did so when Guiseley sat back far too deep in added time with Norwood heading home.
Second half was mostly Tranmere threatening and it seemed to be yet another one of those days where luck was not on our side until Norwood played for that penalty a treat.
Guiseley gave a reasonably good account of themselves whilst Tranmere were far from convincing, poor shape to the team and I don't know what Brabins thinking is with McNulty and Riley at the back, Sutton and Hogan look a better partnership to me, good to see Hogan back as we don't lose many when he plays.
2-1 just about right on balance of play.

Alfreton 1-2 Boston United (Ironside 82, Blinco 1,61)

Well it appears last week was an anomaly and we have hit the ground with an almighty crash again today. Another absolutely woeful start as we are behind within 52 seconds to a shocking goal. That set the tone for the rest of the first half and Boston tore us to shreds and we would had no complaints if we were 3-0 down at half time. A mini revival at the start of the second half which saw us earn a few corners have a strong penalty claim denied and Wilson fire a half volley inches over the bar.

Then boston doubled their lead as Blinco just ran through our static defence and slotted home.

In a desperate bid to get something out of the game Nicky brought on Jackson and Ironside with 15 to go. The latter scrambling in after the a huge goal mouth scramble which seemed to go for an age. That awoke us from our slumbers again and despite a late Allan chance and another strong penalty claim we went home empty handed and rightly so.

Too many and our squad aren't good enough for this level. That is a fact.

Nicky tore in to the players post match again. Saying it was too cold for them and that 4-5 dont wanna play for him.

We always play shit against bottom 5 teams and did so again, at least we had several of our injured missing players on the bench and its was only when they came on we bucked up and won with our only shot on target!
Wood should have been 2 up by then but lack the quality up front to punish teams.

Up to 17th and now have two easy games ahead, away to FGR and Cheltenham !

Good win today, they were better in the first half but we settled down and were much better second half.

Big test of our credentials next week at Wrexham.

Yet we beat them pretty comfortably at their place.

Scrappy El Glossico today both teams cancelled each other out. Felt we struggled to cope with the physical nature of Forest Green who played the referee much better than we did. Disappointed not to win but on the balance of play neither side can complain with a draw.
