After nearly 4 weeks I'm back at home. At least until May 9th when the abovementioned 2nd OP has to be done. But for now I am happy to be back (and I have to admit it, I had some tears in my eyes when my door at home was opened. It was close, really close. Lost 10 Kilograms of weight and I'll still a way to go. But now I am optimistic that I'll make it. Thanks to all of you who posted good wishes. Very appreciated.

After nearly 4 weeks I'm back at home. At least until May 9th when the abovementioned 2nd OP has to be done.

FFS, those 4 1/2 weeks at home are nearly over. Tomorrow I am "going in" again.

Slowly I am getting nervous and "counting the hours" .
I hate this behaviour of mine. Instead of enjoying the last hours I can only think about the conversation with the doc about the risks on Tuesday and the "action" on Wednesday, and the "horror of laying still for 8-10 hours" after the "intrusion" when they are moving the heart catheter through the groin instead the arm. You are getting a pressure bandage after it. Some of my (bed-)neighbours in the 4 weeks had to do this and all of them were happy when the 10 hours were over and they had the pressure bandage removed and could move again.

Hopefully all is going well. The docs already said it won't be as "easy" as the last time 8 weeks ago. They couldn't do it back then because the "performance" of the heart was too weak back then after the heart attack. Now with 8 weeks of swallowing heart strengthening and blood thinning pills it should be in a better shape again...but I am nervous nonetheless.

So, please keep your fingers crossed for me on Wednesday. Now I am off again. Bye

Thanks guys. But my "nervousness" was "much ado about nothing". Just got a phone call from the university hospital. They have to delay the surgery until June14th. So another 5 weeks reprieve for me. Sorry, for bothering you ( Although postponed isn't cancelled and I have to do it then but actually I am relieved)

That was a wee while back mate. Turned out to be quite a lengthy job and overran my appointment time but after I got numbed up I was brave as fuck...'Just do it' I whispered in wimpish voice......

ah, sorry, missed that one. Thought it would be in the next days. Yes, Dentists. Always had a horror as a kid. But I lost my "fear" in the army (really, although the army dentist was maybe in reality a butcher. But every visit gave you the rest of the day for free ). I don't have any problems with the teeth, my half yearly checks are normally without problems. Thank God I made the dentists visit just before the whole "schemozzle" with my heart began. Actually I am not allowed to visit the dentist because of all the blood thinning meds. Next visit should be in September and then everything should be good again (I hope)

Thanks to all for the good wishes. Helps a lot because my nervousness is going up. Normally I only care about the health of relatives, loved ones. It's new to me to care about my own health so much.
Anyway, this will be my last post for (hopefully only) a few days or longer (God forbid!). Bye!

Just a quick note written with the shitty virtual keyboard on my tablet.First pre examinations, electrocardiogram and blood examinations already done. A (female) doctor examined me, I liked it when she palpated my groin area . .Now I am waiting for the ultrasonic examination of the heart (to see if the thrombus in the leftventricle has vanished (@2:30pm and tomorrow will be the heart catheter, which will be a special one.

Short update

The thrombus hasn"t completely vanished yet but the doc (again a female....am i a lucky guy or what? ) had to inject a special contrast media to make it visible on ultrasonic screen. In the previous examinations you could see it without it. So it' s good news (size has decreased ) and bad news ( a little bit is still there and that means, the blood thinner Marcumar has still to be swallowed by me with all the side effects ie careful not to bleed or not to stub ).
Actually i am waiting for the heart catheter, i am at call for it.
Hopefuly they are going through the arm vein and not through the groin because then I'll have to llie still in bed for about 10 hours with a pressure tape. If it's through the arm vein you'll only get a small pressure band afterwards but can move around .

on this occasion does the 'palpating' involve slowly rubbing up and down resulting in heavy breathing and moaning from yourself mate?

Heart catheter went well. The Professor could open the chronically closed artery and he set 5 stents. what a mess it was after it, my groin area looked like i was butchered (one of his assistants made the joke) .It lastet nearly 3 hours from 4:15 pm til 7 pm . Now I have to lay on the back for even12 hours without putting weight on the left side where they went through the groin. Every hour a (male) nurse had to check if the pressure tape is still intact. Doesn't matter because I can't sleep ynyway (that's why I write this post, lying on the back and holding the tablet above). It is nearly 12 pm so i have already reached 5 of the 12 hours....
