Very much Pagnall's domain, well in my early days of TFF anyway.
But seeing as I'll be upgrading soon, thought I'd start a thread. Always seemed a busy topic over other side.

I just picked up the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It's mind blowing. Love it.

Anyone ever had problems with a Samsung S4?

In my sleep about 3 weeks ago I've managed to knock a glass of water over into my draw where my phone was, It charged for abit but then stopped and once it's gone flat it won't even charge up anymore. It used to vibrate every few seconds with the charger in though. Not sure if it's even possible to fix. Whether it's the battery the charging port or what..

I need to sort it now though as I'm on an old Nokia and it's horrendous!

If you want Pangle to join we all have to talk about how wonderful the iPhone is. Especially the hardware and software.
He'll soon sign up to put us right.

I've had a Nexus 5 now for just over a year, a very nice and powerful phone and in my opinion better than the iPhone that I had before! (I prefer Android to iOS because it gives you so much more freedom!)

I've got a Samsung galaxy s4, had for nearly 2 years and due an upgrade in a few months. Never had a problem with it so will more than likely stick with Samsung again

Any ever attempted to replace a screen in an Iphone? My mrs dropped her Iphone 4s the other day, cracked the screen but it was working for a while. All of a sudden then the screen went black and wont do anything now. Instead of paying too much to get it repaired i've just ordered a replacement screen from Ifixit, going attempt to follow the youtube step by step instructions and see how it goes.

I need some advice about app's if anyone can help. I've just bought a Xperia E1. It's a budget phone, no great shakes, but I don't really need a great deal from a mobile. It manages everything I need and is quite easy to navigate. The thing I need to know is does anyone know of an app I'll need to download my mp3 files onto it? I don't need to put full files on just cropped mp3 files that I want to put on as ringtones.

Edit : sorted it using an app called download all files.

Well my last attempt at fixing my phone has failed so going to nip it into a shop I've been told about that should be able to sort it. Quite odd mind, tried to charge it on my laptop and it won't work, but my laptop recognises the device when it's plugged in?

I think my phone screen has one more drop in it before it has had it.

I would prefer to buy this time. Probably looking to spend £200-£250 max I think. What do you recommend?

If you want a budget Android, the new Huawei Honor Holly looks a good spec for the price (can be picked up for £75~). Failing that, a Moto G4 is £140-160 and is a good piece of kit, or ther Moto E is even cheaper

I'd steer clear of the ZTE Blade S6. I'm hearing bad things about the build quality

Think I mentioned this on TFF but how do people get on with EE?

My Vodafone contract runs out in a couple of weeks and I'd renew, but there's basically little 3G/4G around here with them. EE are the best for coverage.

I've been with EE for nearly three years, but I'm planning to move elsewhere when my current contract runs out in a couple of months. I haven't had any major problems, just think I could get a better deal elsewhere, especially now they've got rid of Orange Wednesdays.

I thought BT had almost completed a deal for buying EE, was something ridiculous like £12 billion.

Yeah the article I read was wrong then, just googled and it is BT buying... With sky supposedly creating their own mobile network.

I'm not sure what manufacturer to go for next. Samsung have just announced the S6, and even putting aside the step backwards from the S5 in terms of water resistance, and the lack of memory card and user replaceable battery, it's also the first Samsung flagship phone which will be based on their own Exynos chipset regardless of what territory you buy it in. This decision to leave behind Qualcomm and their Snapdragon chipset means no open source documentation and drivers, which in term means no stable roms outside Touchwiz. I wasn't planning to buy the S6 anyway, but it's also likely pointing to the way they'll do things now on, with the Note 5 probably following the same route, and that was a phone I was going to be interested in. No more Samsungs for me then.

So, where to go after my Note 3. The OnePlus Two looks like good, and it will have a decent price too. Hopefully they will have sorted their supply problems out so there won't be any invitation bollocks like the first phone. The HTC One M9 looks to be more of the same as the M8, although I've read the camera is actually a step back. I'm liking the idea of waterproof so the Sony Z4 is a contender, but I'm even less fond of their UI as I am of Touchwiz. Then you obviously have LG, but that stupid button on the back thing has never appealed. Decisions decisions...

Nope. I have spent a lot of time on my friend's Note 4 and, camera aside, the difference between that and what I already have is minimal. Especially if, like myself, you're running a hacked version of the Note 4's newly leaked Lollipop rom. It's simply not worth the upgrade.

EDIT -- this thread needs a sticky.
