Fair do's to Torquay, should have had a point but missed a golden chance which flew out of the ground.
We're stuttering at the moment but know how to ground out a result. Don't know how to lose, just win when not playing well.
Great turn out by the away guys and kept it up through the game. Top support and hope they can ( and probably will) survive.
It was a real battle.
Been a good Christmas so far and the two games I feared for today and Atly we got six points so well chuffed.

Yeh, the general consensus on the way back was that we were unlucky not to get something. We have had the two best chances of the first 75 minutes, through Marsh and Heslop - how on earth he managed to miss I'll never know. He should have scored, and that's the game-changing moment.

Generally I felt we restricted you well. You weren't as good as you had been when you smacked us at Plainmoor in August, but worked well as a team. I thought Waters and Munns were your most dangerous players.

Really frustrating to concede in the manner we did - from our end it looked an absolute fluke (I believe Munns has since admitted it was a mishit cross), as prior to that we didn't seem under much pressure.

400+ fans for a 300 mile round trip in our position is excellent, and it was non-stop for the majority. Hopefully a few additions in January and we can make a proper fight of this.

Losing your most dominant defender isn't going to help and we have been pretty pants for the last 5-6 weeks. Would imagine most teams would find it relatively easy to play against us at the moment. Grimsby were decent, they do have probably the best strike pairing in the league and easily coped with any threat defensively against us once Rhead was marked out the game, like most teams have sussed lately.

Nullify Rhead = Lincoln struggle.
I didn't realise the dip was as bad as it is until i saw a form table showing only 6 points out of the last 7 games. Ouch.

Christ we actually won a game at home convincingly and looked half decent In the process for the first time this season.

No coincidence that when Pattison and Shaw returned we looked like a completely different team and im very impressed with CJ Hamilton, Guiseleys left back couldn't handle him when he came on. He reminds me a bit of Marcus Maddison in the sense that he gets you excited every time he gets the ball as he runs at people and gets the ball in the box.

Yep Hearn's departure on loan to Barrow seemed to have sparked our collaspe.
Can't see us turning it around until we get some new players.

This after Chris Moyles admitted as much and vowed it would change. What can we expect on NYD? More of the same? This run of ours has to come to a crash at some point but just pray for three more points on Saturday to start the new year outside of the relegation places.
Can't really change it outside the transfer window because Rhead it our best striker and you'll not find him running the channels.

Alfreton 2-2 Solihull Moors (Smith 23, Bradley (p) 75, Knights 45, Armson 90)

Well I am lost for words on how we didn't win Today. It was our best Performance by quite a way for at least 18 months. All those raving about our boxing day performance have a point. We look totally transformed! Nicky has since said some stern words were said before the Tamworth and it safe to say that whatever he said had the desired effect!!

First off let me say that Solihull were very impressive and we be promoted IMO. Its a good sign when you are absolutely pummelled for two halves of football but managed to draw each one 1-1 and come out with a very fortunate draw.

On another day we would have beat Solihull by 4 or 5. Sam Smith was fantastic and had his best game in an Alfreton shirt. Tom Allan and Niall Heaton also shone brightly. While Solihull couldn't cope with the pace and directness of Meikle and the Immense Sam Jones.

We started on the front foot from the off and never really took our foot off the pedal. Sam Jones saw a shot cannon off the post on 15 while Smith saw his follow up saved and Bradleys shot was then cleared away superbly by a Solihull Defender. We then deservedly took the lead on 23 after a great industrious run by Jones down the left was turned home by Sam Smith after he reacted quickest after Dan Bradley saw his shot saved by the keeper.

Further shots from Jones and Bradley were saved before Moors broke with pace from Nothing and Dean poked it through to Knights he fired past Duke to make it 1-1.

It was end to end in the second half with both sides going for a winner. Smith had a shot cleared off the line before our pressure was finally rewarded on 75 when Jones was sent sprawling by Nottingham for an absolute stone wall penalty.
Bradley smashed home to make it 2-1. Minutes late Allan crashed an volley against the post. Before the same man fired a quality across the face which somehow nobody in an Alfreton or Solihull shirt turned home!

Then Heartbreak in the 90th as Moors launched a rare attack and after Knights found Armason he beat Duke at the 3rd attempt after his first two attempts came back off the bar to break Reds Hearts

Its amazing what a win and a bit of confidence can do though. The improvements from last Saturdays limp home defeat to Bradfford PA is stark. Replicate todays performance and we will be absolute fine.

Common Mistake. Not the former Telford one. He is at Brackley. This Sam Smith is from Handsworth Parramore of the NCEL where he scored 39 goals last season. Has been Woeful for months. Suddenly he is a different player and looks a really handful!

Much better today. Very comfortable and much better attitude. Glad keanu marsh brown was dropped, don't think much of him.

Feel for Kiddy, hockaday clearly has no idea what he's doing. They've got worryingly worse since we played them in august, just a team of kids.

Cheltenham are so damn consistent, just can't see them losing!

On another note, fairplay to halifax, picking up some decent results!!

Agree we were better today, although Kiddy were dire.

Game was over after 19 minutes, 1-0 up against bottom of the league who were down to 10 men, had Barnes-Homer up front and Hockaday as manager meant that it became as easy as it gets and we could pretty much relax at that point, only shame was we didn't really push on and try to really boost the gd.

Poor Jared Hodgkiss must be think he's stuck in a nightmare having to play under DH again, and Kiddy's fans who were superb all game deserve much better then the rubbish team of kids they've put together.

Good to see Harvey doing well, said from the start Halifax should have appointed him instead of Kelly, and am pleased he's finally got the chance to show how good a manager he is at this level again. Can see Halifax staying up and being a top half side next season with him at the helm.

Probably just needed some time to settle at that level, it's quite a jump.

Well we have Stefan Payne to thank for that defeat, after getting wound up for some reason and sent off. It's not the first time either, shame because I like him. I think we had a couple of decent penalty shouts at the end but it was quite frustrating to lose that from 1-0 up and coasting.

I think our fans were quite rude to Moses Ademola (playing for Bromley today), without him we'd be in the Connie South still, squabbling with Margate in the Jim Parmenter derby while tearfully watching Ebbsfleet and Maidstone scoot off to the big time with any half decent players we might have still had.

We did well with 10 men though.

I was sat by the Kiddy directors and their frustrations were easy to see. I just don't see what hockaday was trying to do?

2-0 down with 30 mins to go, he takes OFF a striker and brings on a mid. Then takes off the most effective player they had.

There's no desire in their team, just kids trying to get match fit. I don't blame the players, it's poor management, and today made me realise how happy I am we got shot of that idiot.

Feel genuinely sorry for kidderminster. Massive club with great fans, who didn't stop signing today. Also they were hilarious with their chanting!

We never really moved out of 2nd gear, as a spectacle it was as one sided as you'll ever see at this level. Frear was causing all sorts of problems down the left, he has to be one of the top players in this league at the moment. Unplayable at times, takes it around teams for fun. Brett williams starting to show why he's so highly rated, hopefully get him signed till the end of the season at least.

Good chance to put a bit of pressure on cheltenham on Friday, but to be fair I'm expecting them to comfortably beat Kiddy.

I saw it at the time and as a neutral I thought a yellow card was harsh.

I'm just bemused that you think us "know it alls" are wrong in saying it's not a red card. I'm just doing what a know it all does. Proving you know nothings wrong.

You can chat with Alan Alger if you like, he's convinced Podge pushed Waterfall before the sending off. Although he's a fan of stills too.

I never called you a "know it all", that was Crazy. I'm happy to debate without condescending you. But those stills prove nothing, and they very rarely do. Why resort to a still when there is video footage out there (I would link but I'm not technically savvy enough to upload it on here)?

Rubbish team of kids ???? not all sides in this division have the financial power of FGR. (we certainly don't)
Perhaps Kidderminster have financial issues, perhaps they are 5.4 million in debt.
Pisses me off when fans slag off clubs when their club has a sugar daddy as we used to get when Rushden & Diamonds fans got stuck into us. REMEMBER Rushden & Diamonds ???? they are playing on a local park now.

Have to think Torquay will stay up based on yesterday, we were far from our best but they deserved a point and would've had it but for a shocking miss. It's not been pretty the last few games but we keep grinding out the wins and that's all that matters.

Thought we played really well today and on another day we would have won but to be fair £astleigh's keeper was excellent. Their penalty was very soft and was aided by excellent theatrics from Constable! Also im still not sure how Reason was not sent off for our penalty as Charlie Walker was through on goal 6 yards out (if that is not an obvious goalscoring opportunity what is?)

We deserved at least a draw and thankfully this time they didnt get their usual 90th minute goal against us. Play like we did today at Woking on Saturday and we'll get a result.

Also thought our turnout of 401 was pretty good given that a lot of people would probably prioritise Woking over £astleigh
you were well worth your point. Think both keepers had very good games.last 20 mins were great to watch. End to end stuff.

Think they've changed their mind, did hear he was going to double wage by going there.
We certainly need him.
Definitely a snake.
Apparently he was ill yesterday - almost certainly will sign permanently next week. I can't see him doubling his wages though, our max wage at the moment is (rumoured) to be about £1.2k p/w.

Didn't see the game yesterday, but seemed pretty even, just a few injuries and a bit rusty having not played much football in December. I'm expecting a bit of an overhaul over the next few weeks though.

Southport must have really improved though because they were useless three months ago when they came to Barrow.

Our top wage is £5-600 a week.
Ill again, not the first time he's been 'ill' this season....

I didn't think Disley's was a red (only seen it once), but the more I see our red the more I'm convinced it isn't.
