Who is the most hated individual ever to be associated with you're club, be it a dodgy owner, a player who left for a rival, a player who was just not arsed, a manager who was utter dross and so on.

Obviously we have the vile Bennall at the top of our list, but removing that scumbag and listing somebody on purely footballing/business terms then it's a toss up between current majority shareholder Norman Hassall and ex manager Steve Davis.

Hassall has sucked the club dry and held us back, we should be a competitive league one outfit or acting like one, not a club looking over our shoulder at non-league. The sooner he is bought out the better.

Davis had it all, promotion winning side, cup winning side, but his arrogance and ego destroyed it all. Admittedly, he wasn't helped by the above mentioned Hassall, but Davis conspired to make us bland, negative, we tried to be defensive when we couldn't defend, he made the club stale and heading in one downward direction, he got rid of promising players when they should have stayed and earned the cous decent transfer fees, he got rid of solid pro's a year too early to promote his own sons career, yet he was ready to jump at any given moment for another job, but when it all blew up, instead of doing the decent thing and walking he held on just to screw money out the club, the club that was being held to ransom by Hassall.

Just as a side note, Garry Cliffe is an ex Manchester City trainee who was unfourtunalty abused by that scumbag Bennall. Yet Cliffe only ever talks about Crewe Alexandra's role in this, which is odd seeing as he was never at Crewe. Guess who Gary Cliffe's brother in law is?

Steve King probably.. No idea why he was appointed, never turned up for training and spent a massive amount of money. He was sacked after it was clear we wouldn't bounce straight back to the FL and then we had years of struggling to survive because of it.

Closely followed by our estranged owner Amar Alkhadi.

Yer see King doesn't rile me as much as others. Yes he was shown up for what he was, a massive chancer, buy ultimately it wasn't him signing all the cheques. And I still stand by my opinion that those first few months we played some ridiculously good football.

I have more hatred for players that don't pull their weight, usually loanees that just don't care - the one that sticks out for me I'd Tom Elliott. How he's managed to form a half decent career in league football is a complete mystery to me!! He was one lazy twat.

Adam Buckley (Alan Buckley's son) allegedly stole a youth team member's boots.

Steve Tilson was utterly useless as a manager, but I wouldn't say I hated him.

Older fans would say Gilbert Blades, chairman who failed to capitalise on us missing out by one point from promotion to Division 2 and kick started the long decline that led to us being the first ever team relegated from the Football League.

Are you gonna post separate ones for your Prem club?

Michael Knighton, for the same reasons as so many of the particularly vile owners other clubs have had. Threatened to withdraw us from the league, sell our stadium for housing, sacked a popular manager and spent a disastrous season in which he appointed himself as manager, and when the fans protested, said they didn't deserve a club.

A lot of our older fans will say Eric Gates, as an example of a player who was at the end of a good career and just turned up to collect his final paycheck and generally couldn't be arsed, in one instance refusing to come on as a substitute way before Carlos Teves made it cool. He's a bit before my time though but he still gets moaned out on our forum on a regular basis.

Can’t speak for other Town fans, but McMahon gripped my shit. I tend not to hate players - they can’t help being shite. Owners come and go with differing agendas, but all of them screw you over one way or another.

At the end of the day you either support YOUR club or you don’t.

I think Micky Adams would top the list of virtually every Tranmere supporter. He came in as the 'safe pair of hands' but left having deprived us of our league status.

He did reasonably well until Palios gave him transfer funds in the January 2015 window. He then went on a spending spree bringing in utter dross, mostly in old pals acts, while sidelining a lot of the younger players who were treated disgracefully. We used 47 first team players that season. Adams admitted in his biography that by the time he got to Rovers he could not be bothered turning up for training in the morning.

A close second is John Barnes. Actually a reasonable guy, but he turned us into a laughing stock in his short tenure and did a lot of damage. He tried to play total football with a mediocre League One squad and the performances under him are the worst I have ever seen from a professional football team.

Fortunately those days are behind us.......

Don't think that was all he stole!

Tilson was a cock, but I can't say I really hated him. I don't think there are any hated figures at Lincoln, really.

No-one really likes Kevin Ellison or Ray Trew.

Easy. John Russell. Defrauded and bankrupted the club, caused our relegation to the conference. On the positive side, his shenanigans helped the Supporters Trust gain momentum.

Joint honours go to Russell and Lewis.

Oversaw our worst ever period as a club and were arrested for fraud. The scumbags are somehow still managing to get involved in non-league football. Hope they both rot.

The most hated figure I’ve seen in recent history at Prenton was Doncaster’s Sean Thornton. Tosser of the highest pedigree having been Tranmere’s next big thing since Koumas out of the academy, only to turn up at Sunderland whilst still under contract at Tranmere

Can’t think of any true villains. Fenty is and has been for a few years public enemy No1 but it’s mainly sheer incompetence that has put him there, he’s not a c*** on purpose. In terms of managers, there’s a few:

Miles Newell, alcoholic chancer who put together a team of wasters.
Russell Slade, gambling addict who put together a team of hardworking but shit footballers, almost relegating us.
In the past (before my time) there’s also been Brian Laws and Mike Lyons.

And for players, we have Richard Brodie (speaks for itself), Martin Butler (mercenary), Peter Beagrie (easing himself into retirement) and most of our League 2 relegation squad.

You got PL team Luke? I had a soft spot for Coventry, but I can't remember any of their names it was that long ago.

Jim gannon worst manager exodus geohaghan worst player. We were 2nd in the table when he took over in january by the time he got sacked in march after losing 3 nil at accringtonwe had dropped out the play offs stopped picking some of our better players and kept picking that awful exodus player. V2001 owned the club from around 2003 to 2012 and for the later couple of years we had protests outside the ground every home game marches red card protest and a starve them out campaign.

Really? He was our POTS in 2016/17 with good reason. Not done so well for Millwall the next level up though.

David Peach.......grrrrrrr just looking at his name makes me get angry, watch your blood pressure Jed.
Cost us a fortune in wages , could not play football to save his life, was half hearted in everything he did, just coasted along......grrrrrrrr
In the end i think he became afraid to come within 10 yards of the Townend, the amount of abuse he received, (well deserved), was total and vocal.
Well rid

Fuck me, you hold a grudge. That wasn’t far off 50 years ago! IIRC, we were going to sign Mick Channon and ended up with Peach.

Neil Warnock for turning up to the Sheffield United home game in a Sheffield United tie!

Neil Warnock for clapping one of Bolton’s goals as as lost 4-0 and then saying in the post match interview “he didn’t realise it was a derby”.

Alan Knill was a good manager but the way he left the club (joined Scunthorpe with 6 games left of the season when we were 3rd) left a bitter taste. Think hate is too strong a word for Knill... we went up without him and he lost his first Scunthorpe game 6-0. Then the two sides met in L1 the following season (2011/12), we won 3-1 but Scunthorpe took the lead and he ran down the touch line to the Bury fans to celebrate.

Other people that could have got in but since redeemed themselves are Tom Kennedy and Nicky Adams. Both Bury youth products that left us to join Rochdale, both scored against us at some point for Dale and antagonised the Bury support. Especially Tom Kennedy who decided to celebrate his goal by running the whole length of the stand with his hand cupped on his ear.

Seen here at 3 minutes:

Both Adams and Kennedy went on to play for us again, Kennedy must have felt a bit awkward.

Our current Chairman John Fry and owner Norman Hayward are right up there. Player wise it's got to be Michael McIndoe. Even though he was superb for us on the pitch he was an absolute bellend off it. So much so that for years after he left our fans wouldn't say his name, instead referring to him as 'The Scottish Player'.

Player wise no one in particular. Being a small club we are used to, and understand, our players leaving for bigger clubs such as Sutton Utd. and St Alban's City.

John Maggs, a club legend as a player and manager, left under a cloud for which I do not know the whole story. Suffice to say old friends and colleagues refused to talk to him.

But it's the hope that gets you.

The brothers Anwar and Chas Majid brought the club from the Dulys, who didn't have the cash to sustain a conference side (I'm not sure if they got all the money owned to them), and promptly promised the Earth. Promising league football and a great future with lots of investment etc. Everything was going to be Rosey. We should have known really. Chas was disbarred from being a company director and the taxman always objected when he applied to have it removed...and he was the better of the two.

They then went on to mismanage the club on a colossal scale, being economical with the truth and sending the bully boys round to fans meetings and supporters homes. The club barely survived and only did so due to Susan Carter with the help of a few friends.

If they ever showed up again I don't doubt their Ferrari's would end up needing a wash afterwards.
