This was the best bit of the article

''We have, of course, asked before that newcomers recognise the Scaffold is the Clapton Ultras’ space, that we are passionate about supporting the team throughout a game and if you want to chat with your friends, it is disrespectful not to move to a different part of the ground. Most people understand this and are prepared to adhere to this reasonable request – even if sometimes they need a reminder.''

Jesus what a sanctimonious bunch. I actually live nearby and am a bit of a lefty, but there's no way I'd go there. This lot sound like the worst sort of student marxists going.

The oppo breaking away in the last minute, rounding our keeper slotting it in to make it 3-1. Getting a bit of Déjà vu. And not in a good way.
Weirdly I feel a bit more optimistic after yesterday, sickener as it was. If our shit performances are just a couple of decent finishes short of being something better we'll always be in with a chance whereas last year sometimes it seemed we just weren't going about it the right way. Shall I do the BULLISHNESS for a bit until you recover Chris? :D

I think his bollocks dropped after McDonagh scored that.

Cannot go any longer without mentioning our embarrassing website on here.

Up until this morning our fixture v Gainsborough on Saturday wasnt even on the website in any capacity .

Apparently we "won" 4-1 at Newport.. apparently it was a second round replay? Apparently this weekends game in the Trophy is 2nd Qualifying Rd, its not its the 3rd Qualifying Rd. Still has last seasons Tickets Prices and Squad.

I could go on...

:ffs: We are an absolute joke right now.
The club must have listened as we have appointed a new press officer yesterday!

Media students at FCHT accidentally turned on their mics early tonight, talked of "sexual favours" with some pretty colourful language all followed by "Wait.. it says I've been broadcasting for half an hour".

Just 2 questions:
1, Why?
2, Who gives a fuck?**

**Ok, I was a bit tempted to retweet it but resisted!

Harrogate Town continuing our full blow tin pottery of late......apparently we are artificially boasting our attendances by counting all the free tickets (some 150 at least) given out each week to the kids going to the development sessions and also the laughable efforts to be all PC/Safe Space with our much promoted ladies football team.....of which no one seems to bother to take up the offer of tickets.

Must have been 450 at best there yesterday and 645 announced. Similar to Tamworth crowd of 975 when there was 700 at the very most.

To boot we also had a guy measuring the decibels in our stand behind the goal after we were banned from getting to loud on midweek games. The club continues to crawl up its own nepotistic, hangers-on arse at the expense of its bedrock of support.

Its all ok as we have just taken delivery of our generic club coffee mugs......with gift box set......http://www.harrogatetownstore.com/product/mug-and-box-gift-set

Always suprised me that Harrogate doesnt get bigger gates considering the size of Harrogate and the lack of big teams in N. Yorks, is it just a case of many in Harrogate support Leeds?

Get a load of people in the town who are premier league fans.....aka watch on tv! Fair few Leeds as you say, to be fair some come to our games. Have seen crowds go up over the last few years from mid 400s to 600s but the club seem to fail to grasp the way to grow the support is not through trying to be a mini premier league club but by promoting the club as an alternative to the over priced premier league 'experience'. Of which the great work done by a core of fans has recently been eroded by certain new club policies and awful communication to its fans.

That said Harrogate has a population of 70k, plus places like Knaresborough and it is 90k+ and would hope it has further opportunity to grow. When we have had the crowds in 1000+ locals we always bottle it and it is on the pitch where you get fans back. Something our one win in the league since September has not helped at all.

Good to see Macca back at Valley Parade btw. I used to go a fair bit back in the day, before the Rhodes infighting.

Real feel good factor at city atm, hoping it continues!

Shame about Harrogate, I think the potential is there, I feel you could have been alot further up if you didnt stick with Weaver as manager, being the son of the chairman is in his favour though

If the money keeps coming in it shouldnt be too long before the chance to go up is there

Yeah is nice to see.....will be going along to the Charlton match with a few mates. Will be the first time in 8 years. Looking forward to Haigys! The City deserves and needs Championship football after all it has been through. That said club has changed a lot for the positive since the Docherty era!

There in lies the issue with Town, Weaver just ain't a great manager. Gets big budgets from his dad and he does seem like a nice bloke but cannot motivate his teams and seems to play the blame game too much. The team is pretty much full time now as well.
There are certainly good things we have benefitted from at the club, strong playing budget year after year but this totally unique approach to 'keeping it in the family' is limiting our scope to grow. Feel the likes of Neil Aspin or a Mark Bowser Bower would do much better with our top 4 budget.

The only "Clapton Ultra" supporter I know is actually a Notts County fan.

Typical Clapton attitude.

I live in Clapton and I can tell you that Clapton FC is situated nowhere near it. It would be more apt if they were called Forest Gate FC.

It's just very odd that a club who have always been based where they are now have always named themselves after a locality some distance away. The same is not true of us, especially as the majority of our fanbase is still from Barnet.
