Grimsby fans not know the difference between a flag and a sticker?
I just copied the pic from someone's twitter which said on it 'worst flag ever taken to an away game' without actually noticing it was stuck to a wall. Maybe it's just a sticky flag....... :2thumb:

Not sure what the scale of the photo is but it seems to be the thing these days for away fans to turn up with packs of stickers they've had done and then leave them all over the stadium and city.

Following the proposed takeover of Hartlepool United in 2015 by two frauds (who have been locked up) and a cockney conman soon after, a small group of fans took it upon themselves to start the ball rolling with a Hartlepool United Supports Trust. They got an ACV on our ground, have worked closely with Supporters Direct and formed a close relationship with the clubs new owners. Without any of the above happening, it looked at one point very likely that we wouldn't have a football club to support this season. They have gained nearly 900 members of The Trust to date. Absolute hero's in my mind.

We've a small section of fans who are 'anti-trust' (for reasons I will never, ever, ever understand). Anyway, they've had some stickers printed. It's an England flag with the Pools badge in one corner and 'Fuck The Trust' in the other. They've proceeded to stick these around our ground. Fucking embarassing.

These trusts deserve all the praise they get. They are often the ones getting the phoenix clubs going when a club goes belly up. Northern 1st time where supporters have been at war with each other. Remember when Scarborough supporters fell out resulting in 2 phoenix clubs

I know this thread/forum is full of Billercay/Tamplin criticism (and rightly so) But thought this was a really nice touch from Tamplin

Absolutely. I don't personally know any of the people who run our Trust, but each of them have my utmost respect for firstly being the few people who put themselves forward to run this voluntarily. But secondly for putting up with the negative shit they have had from our own fans. They have even started signing anti-trust songs at games and one incident has seemingly turned violent at South Shields.

The first thing Supporters Direct said to those setting the Trust up was that the biggest problem they would face would be from our own fans. They were also warned by fans of other teams, Wrexham and Pompey I think, that this would happen too. I couldn't believe it at the time.

I've got a few issues with ours but everything you've posted sounds so familiar.

LOFT did some very good work during the Becchetti era, arranging collections/meetings and getting a substantial amount of legal advice should the worst have unfolded. Prior to that, they also got an ACV on Brisbane Road I believe.

However a certain section of our fan base derided everything they did and had a few pops at Newport with some anti LOFT songs. I'm willing to bet both groups have an awful lot in common.

I first noticed the sticker thing after visits by Margate, Sutton and York, thinking how pathetic it looked. Now a few of ours have decided to copy and post on FB their stickers in toilets etc. The ultimate in tinpottedness.

I'll be sure to photograph and upload any stickers I spot here, we can start a sticker-watch. I tend to see them a lot in the toilets in bars.

We played Man United in a friendly over a decade ago at the height of the Glazer issue and around the time FCUM formed; fairly sure you can still find several "Love United, Hate Glazer" stickers on lamp-posts around the town...

It's possible that I posted this on here already, but go on then...

Loads of Rosenborg stickers knocking about York, for some reason.

How incredibly tinpot they are.

Coincidentally not but two hours after my original post, I went out for lunch and saw this. We are stickering our own city.

We quite often see Scottish stickers. I remember meeting some Ayr United fans on a night out, not following their team just on a boozer, their stickers got every fucking where.

Yeah, a lot in common no doubt. It's a strange one. The biggest problem the 'anti-trust' lot seem to have is they don't like a couple of people who are quite involved in the Trust. Apparently they are only doing it for an ego boost or something.

Like I said, I don't know any of them personally, but quite frankly I don't care in the slightest if they are doing it for an ego boost. The end result is still going to be the same.

The personality clashes are seemingly more important to the anti trust mob than survival of our football club. Quite embarrassing to say the least.

We have that at ours too, the trust were seen as knights in shining armour when they were on the outside fighting to get Knighton out of the club, but as soon as they become part of 'the establishment' then people no longer see them as being on their side, some fans took a 'sack the trust' banner to one game.

Exeter not in Devon any more?
it used to be just the exeter league but expanded to cover mid, east and central Devon so teams like Elmore in mid Devon Axminster in east Devon and Okehampton Central Devon rather than your Exeter based teams St. Martins Topsham Hevartree etc etc…

Sounds about right, abandoning their core base in pursuit of lucrative new markets, Next you'll be telling me they're holding the draws for the Devon cup in Somerset, and the league is awash with Cornwall and Dorset based owners splashing out fifty or sixty quid on big money signings but who don't understand the average fan.
#againstmodernfootball

Also thank you for elaborating on what kind of teams are based in mid, east and central Devon. It really helped with my understanding of how the Exeter and Devon league has grown.
