My current car, a simple hatchback jobbie but bought it fairly newish and smartish so it was about 4k.
Have battered the poor thing up and down our fine motorways and A roads for 5 years since. I think it could navigate do the M27, M3, A34 etc all by itself by now.

Anyone want to buy a car?

Only if it can handle the A329(M).

All when I lived in the States. Material wise, house aside as that wasn't owned outright. Bought a Dodge Caravan back in 2001 which cost a fair amount of dosh second hand though. $3,500 as I recall. It was a 24 hour car dealership and I'd been drinking so vaguely recall my missus picking me up and driving there and buying it at about 1 in the morning. She drove it back of course.
Bought one of these (iMac G4 I think it was called) when they were first released, cost about $1,500 in 2003.

Most spent on something I enjoyed. Well I think I enjoyed anyway. Had a business meeting with business partners back in the early 90's. Turned into a liquid early lunch (IE: nearer breakfast than noon) in a Mexican restaurant, followed on by a long evening in a high end Japanese Sushi Restaurant doing Sake Bombers and shots and singing karaoke. I vaguely remember ending up in the hotel room of our stunning business associate Jennifer with my wife (ex wife now) at the time at around 2 in the morning. Don't remember much else but what a day and night! The bank balance concluded that it was an expensive night that far outweighed the weekly business contract agreed.
