Now us, Stockport and Wrexham have been promoted, when is the appropriate time for all of us to migrate over to the league one board.
After the play offs, after the regular season, when the fixtures come out or after the EFL AGM?
Suggestions please.

Regret to inform you mate but due to your ongoing commitments to the L2 Away Support Thread your personal promotion hasn't been accepted and you're staying down here, hence you not being cc'd in on the correspondence that went out to all the other Mansfield fans.

I will leave after the final fixture, might post a few comments when the game has finished or reflections on what has been such an interesting (dreadful) season, but certainly won't be around when people are starting to talk about their prospects for next season, who they have signed and all that jazz.

Not sure I can move on. Doesn't feel right not having Grimsby following us around like a puppy

Far more likely that not so random stags fans post on the league 2 forum to remind everyone just how toxic, bitter and important to them the rivalry is with Chesterfield :2thumb:

All season I've kept finding myself logging onto the National league forum. I can't not never give it up.

Sad
I still folllow it , I actually like it tbh glad not there anymore but went to so many random places/grounds I'm still interested in what they do . Find myself much more interested in lower/non league the last 15 years or so I just don't find all the premier league stuff interesting at all.

The league one forum is no where near as busy and crap in comparison .

Not sure that's true, it's just very different. League one always has it's big clubs, way more so than league 2 has big standout clubs. Their fans just seem to outnuber/out shout everyone else. The 22/23 year of our relegation there was Ipswich. Sheff wed, Portsmouth, Barnsley, Bolton, Plymouth, Derby and Peterborough. Most of those clubs you don't really expect to see down here and it shows with some of their fans. It's a different dynamic to league 2 in my view and that shows on the forum posts.

We'll liven it up. Our lot, Stockport and Mansfield are a huge upgrade on the crackheads from Carlisle.

Yep, I've always said I'd rather be at the top of the Conference than the bottom of L2. I didn't mind it down there that much really. Like you say, over our two stints I went to lots of places I would never go to otherwise and Town were picking up points along the way. Both relegations and this season and any other near misses have been way worse than any of the seasons down there.

100% agree. Our 18/19 National League North season was absolutely brilliant. Being top of any division is far more fun.

Everyone laughs at our fall to the NLN and rightly so and the first 3 years there were horrendous but since 2016 our seasons read
16/17- NLN- Missed out on Play offs final day
17/18- NLN- Play off Defeat
18/19- NLN- Champions
19/20- NL- Covid, we actually were in a Play Off spot but missed out on PPG.
20/21- NL- Play off semi defeat
21/22- NL- Champions
22/23- L2- Play off Final Defeat
23/24- L2- Champions

I doubt we'll see a decade where we win this many games again.

Can see some of our JCL's struggling to come to terms with us possibly being in a relegation battle next year or even hovering around mid table doing nothing exciting. As a club from 09-16 we had so much depression pumped into our brains, I think we've had so much dopamine pumped in from 17-24 that I don't know if people's brain chemistry is ready for something mundane.

Just for a bit of fun I thought I would engage in some outrageous plagiarism of the above post to show how we have performed in comparison to Stockport, who we have just passed like ships in the night.

100% agree. Our promotion to the Football League was absolutely brilliant, after having lost the previous play off Final, can't beat a day out at Wembley and we have had two.

Everyone is laughing at our return to the National League and rightly so as we have been a shambles on and off the pitch for at least two seasons and a half, but since 2016 our seasons read:

16/17- NL- Won the Play off Final
17/18 - L2 - Stayed up by one point
18/19 - L2 - 5th Lost Play off Semi-Final
19/20 - L2 - 10th COVID season
20/21 - L2 - 6th Lost Play off Semi-Final
21/22 - L2 - Champions
22/23 - L1- Relegated
23/24 - L2- Relegated

I doubt we'll see a return to the Football League for some time, unless we rediscover that we are actually a football club whose main purpose should be to play football and nothing else.

Can see some of our JCL's struggling to come to terms with a double relegation, possibly being in a relegation battle next year, or even hovering around mid table doing nothing exciting. As a club from 10-22 we had so much optimism pumped into our brains, that we could become a sustainable club in the Championship, I don't think that I have ever been so fearful for the future of our club, I don't know if everyone else shares my view, I suspect that some do but unfortunately there are too many still in the cult of Dale.
