Yep, sadly one of the greatest sporting icons ever(maybe THE greatest sporting icon ever) has died at the age of 74.

What a legend. RIP.

It's amazing he lasted over 30 years after being diagnosed with Parkinsons. A big loss to sport.

A huge loss. Joe Louis had more defences and was a more dominant champion but Ali is the best heavyweight of all time, his CV is unrivalled. He faced the best in the best ever era in HW boxing and beat them all, his few defeats were avenged apart from the later fights that never should have taken place against Holmes & Berbick.

One of the true legends of sport - not just for his skill in the ring but personality out of it - a rare breed who said what he wanted and people listened .

Been ill for a while of course but still sad news.

Was saying the exact same thing at work yesterday. Shows his true strength that he fought that off for so many years.

Very sad loss to the world of sport as a whole

Aye heard about this late last night. A true sporting great who stuck by his beliefs through thick and thin costing him his freedom and eventually his health; but his achievements will live on indefinitely.

RIP Ali

Probably the most famous face on the planet. Undoubtedly one of the greatest ever boxers, a remarkable character although with many flaws. 74 isn't too bad an age for someone with parkinsons for so long.
