Well we're going into the playoffs in totally opposite form to last season. Got lucky after losing today as it could have been a lot worse than Ebbsfleet at home.

Well yeah, obviously they've got to win the play-offs first.

I thought like the other teams from 4th-7th they had to get through a lot of games, but interestingly it's a kind of hybrid between the old play-off systems from level 6 upwards and those from 7-8 - advantage still goes to the higher placed team, but there's only one leg per tie before the final.

Unfair or not, if Fylde get promoted after winning all their ties against higher placed teams, TWO of them away, based on this system they will have truly earned it!
I hate the format, turns it into the biggest lottery possible.

After playing like idiots for most of April we're going into the playoffs with some good form. Today was a fantastic tribute to the late, great Barrie Williams (manager in the 80s. Won a few titles, beat Coventry in the FA Cup and quoted Shakespeare) who passed away this week. Confident performance driven by teamwork.

90 minutes from Wembley now. Exciting times

Always wanted to go to East Thurrock anyway. Can’t wait to see who we get in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round.

Woking have taken action to make sure their poor organisation of our game on New Year's Day doesn't happen next season, by making sure they don't play us next season!

Amazing support from pools today, they deserved the win too, hopeless ref got more wrong then right the penalty was an awful decision but not as bad as mcnulty kicking the ball against harris and it mcnulty on the shin and goes behind.....nref gives tranmere goal kick.... poolies quite rightly went mad

Maybe Hampton will bring a nawty firm next season instead?

Funny if you end up getting Eastleigh as the Boxing Day/NYD games. Going from guaranteed 6 points to guaranteed 0. Assume they’ll get paired with Havant though.

You might end up with Maidenhead?

As predicted, we didn't make it easy. Made heavy work of a pretty limited Chester team, gifting them a couple of goals and just generally panicking all over the field.

Felt a little uncomfortable celebrating when we played so poorly and relied on Dover to dig us out. Apart from 2/3 players, really not arsed if the rest depart tomorrow.

A big summer for us, and it'll tell us if the chairman is still interested.

Connor Jennings seriously ill in hospital, Adam Buxton injured and Traore dealing with major personal problems. All unlikely to feature in the play-offs.

Jeez, I believe we are actually cursed.

3 key players injured and a backup out too.

At least we’ll have 4,000 season ticket holders next season, prepared for the visits of Dartford and the ilk.

Wonderful stuff. Barra are staying up.

Hope we don't bring in another cringeworthy shirt next season, my current two are decrepit so I'd like to be able to buy a new one this time.

701 at Boredomwood, what is the point. Can easily see them beating Fylde and Sutton and then get reffed up in the showpiece event against Tranmere Aldershot.

The playoffs start in about an hour I think.

Comfortable win for us today with many of the squad putting in their best performances of the sseason. Devonshire has switched to a 433 for the last couple of games and it's worked wonders. I couldn't believe how bad Bromley were though in a big game for them, when Christian Smith has your midfield in his pocket you definitely don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

What Monkey Tennis said. Still don’t know how to react, glad we’re playing National football next season but pissed off about today’s result.

Don't worry - you'll have enough to beat Ebbsfleet and Sutton

Comfortable winners at Gateshead today, who ran out of progammes and food before the game started as they didn't expect us to take 424 fans there. We owed them a bit after they beat us at our place and in the trophy.

Our last two Saturday performances this season have been really good performances, sandwiching a rather awful display when losing to Maidenhead the other night, one thing we've got to improve next season is our Tuesday night home performances, we been horrific in at least 5 of them.

If you'd offered me 13th 9 months ago with a +2 goal difference, after we only assembled a coaching team and playing squad 5 weeks before the season started after our new owners saved us, I'd have bitten your hand off. Next season we have to aim for the top 7, anything else will be a failiure.

Hoping Tranmere win the playoffs, too big for this league really don't want them here next season because they will again be one of the teams fighting for promotion.

Hate to say it but have to agree.
Shocking start again (feel like I keep repeating this), Maidenhead looked well up for it and looked like they were the ones playing for the play offs.
Defence was awful, midfield didn’t get any control all game.
Gregors had to pull off three great saves second half, it could well have been 7 or 8.
Eveytime you went forward you looked like scoring.
Being totally honest, looked like the occasion was too big for us today.

Mixed feelings, horrible way to give away the chance, which other results would have stopped anyway. On the other hand it’s our best ever season finish in our highest level we’ve played at. Trophy final to come as well, given we were one of the fav’s to go down, it’s been a bloody good season.

We’re tinpot, we know we’re tinpot but trying to be the best tinpot club we can be.
Proud of the lads this year!

All the best in the play offs to those competing, congrats to Macclesfield and look forward to duelling it out with you boys next season!

As per article 6,719 of the Brotherhood charter, members met to decide upon the result of the meeting between Tranmere Rovers and Hartlepool United.

In exchange for a home victory, it was agreed by the council of brethren to bestow upon the beautiful town of Birkenhead, 500 travelling clowns with North Eastern accents.

I saw some great pics of the clowns including some on the train that Poolies were sharing with some our supporters.

As for our season, it well and truly fell off the cliff as soon as Hines & Pigott left. We lost our only goal threats, didn't bother to replace them & proceeded to just continue playing Delano in hope he would work out how to actually score.

Cheers for The Pig. Scored his 5th goal for us today against the league leaders Wigan.

Condolences Woking. I doubt you'll be down there for long. Moderating Nomads will be interesting next season.

Two average teams. Maidstone had the better of the first half, we had the better of the second (bar the last 5 mins).

Have to say though, one of the best away welcomes we’ve had. Decent stand, decent beer and genuinely friendly (whilst supporting their own team) away fans.

Happy to visit again!

There's only one club here who are CURSED and that's us, that was decided on here after getting a home bumming off Fylde in August.

Best wishes to Jennings though like, my best mate had it when we were kids and he very nearly died (luckily he didn't).
