Time to tempt fate with a new thread

selected bits
* The National League has recommended clubs not to sell season tickets for the 2020-21 season.

* Wrexham are not in a position to sell fans their usual seats but details will be retained for future seasons.

* The Racecourse capacity will be reduced to 2,600 because of the coronavirus.

* National League fixtures are set to be released on September 8.

* The season is due to start on October 3 but this could change.

* Wrexham will be required to appoint a Covid 19 Officer and Medical Officer.

* Return is done in 4 stages - return to training (no contact), return to close contact training, return to competition but no spectators (pre-season) and return to competition with safe return of spectators.

* No extra time or replays when Wrexham enter the FA Cup at 4th qualifying round stage - straight to penalties.

* Wrexham boss Dean Keates will have a £969,313 budget for the upcoming season - it was £1,256,900 for Bryan Hughes in 2019-20.

Nothing in there about precuations for supporters themselves - I still suspect we'd only be allowed in wearing masks

2,600 - 25% of capacity? If so I reckon it'd be about the same at EP... although we'd have to get the Railway End in useable order again

We’ve already been selling season tickets but have capped the total at 750.

Same here, capped at 1,000, initially advertised on a first come first serve basis but they've been quiet about it since so who knows.

Season Ticket sales for us are ending today, as per the advise provided by the National League. We've probably sold somewhere between 400-500 ST's so can still earn some matchday revenue (assuming capacity is limited to 15%).

How the heck did Wrexham nearly get relegated on a 1.25 million player budget??

Because we are run appallingly and are forever paying off managers and shit players.

We normally sell 500, so will be interesting where we end up. We were around the high 300s/400 mark but prices had doubled. Wonder if the pulling back the deadline has meant many more sold. I can’t see our capacity being much more than 600 and there was a desire to keep some walk up income. The club must know what the limited capacity will be.

this was not just wages for players, staff costs, away travel and other costs were also associated within that number.

to lose approx 300k off that budget is going to be tough. It will almost certainly point to a smaller squad, reduced luxury on away costs, losing non essential coaching staff?

Also noted in the meeting, we are not selling season tickets for the entire season. we are selling in two blocks of 10, and a final block of 3. Previous ST holders will not have their same chairs as last season, but i imagine will be able to select there or thereabouts.

Whether last seasons ST will get first dibs or not will be seen, but as you say it only leaves 600 seats for non ST holders, when our average attendance has solidly been between 3,500 - 4,500 we will be losing 1,000-2,000 peoples worth of match day revenue

I’m not convinced that the government know what the limited capacity is going to be, let alone the clubs.

Am surprised that clubs have sold season tickets at all, to be honest, although obviously understand the reasons why. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if at least some of this season ended up being played behind closed doors.

As well as being down to around 7 players, we are now managerless as Darren Currie has left us (for where?). Troubled times ahead for us.

I’m done with this fucking chairman. I can forgive a lot of things but securing the manager no matter how perilous the future may be re. Covid is unforgivable. Get him out of this fucking club now.

If people knew the stories of the contempt and disrespect that TK shows towards his employees then they’d be horrified. It was clear as day to anyone to see the positive impact that DC had on the club and yet throughout TK was a continuous dick to him. Of course he wouldn’t stay but TK did not even care enough to try to keep him on.

You watch and see how this statement yet to come out is carefully worded to show how they amicably parted. No they did not.

TK is actually one of the most hated chairman in football. He is a smug, self centred egotistic dickhead.

Correct, disliked by people within football who tend to keep stories to themselves for the sake of being professional. He treats his employees terribly and while you will hear a bad word about every employer in the country if you ask around - these are repeated issues with a similar nature.

I know exactly what TK is doing here - we’ll run with a hugely reduced budget next season to ride out the economic issues from the pandemic and/or a second wave and closure of football. That’s why I had little issue with not going for McCallum, letting Johnson go etc. However, all he needed to do was keep Currie on if at all possible.

Currie would not have wanted to stay though despite him loving the club as bridges were burnt with TK over numerous broken promises and transfer failings. TK effectively pushed him out.

I can’t see how the club recovers from this. Our fan base will have been ridiculously fractured by this news and gates will be even lower than ever before when allowed back in.

Ive never before been one of the Back to Barnet brigade but it’s the only way I can see the club gaining a foothold with new supporters. Otherwise we’re finished.

One of our fans posted on Twitter the other day that it wouldn't surprise him if Dino Maamria was appointed next.

With TK's previous appointments and history of pissing off the fanbase that kind of appointment looks pretty likely tbh.

TK only appoints people he knows as he has such a small pool of people to target/recruit from, so this wouldn’t surprise me.

You’d be astounded at the number of promising players and managers/staff have been very interested in joining us only for TK to renegade on a prior agreement or for them to ask their friends/contacts about the club and be put off by the feedback received.

Mark Molesley is the new manager at Southend. Big blow for Weymouth ahead of the new season.

What's your overall capacity?

We've not said a word on STs yet, but had 2,700 last season and with the takeover could shift 3,500+ but It doesnt sound like we will be allowed.

7,800, I think Pools are playing it ultra safe until they get official confirmation of allowed capacity, the last thing they want is selling too many tickets then having the headache of coming up with a system of who gets in and who doesn't on a match by match basis.

Sestonpoolie Did you manage to get one? They took payment for mine yesterday.

You could always just move into the Darlodome?
