Should have won but stupidly lose concentration defending a corner and then went too gung-ho and they caught us out for the second.

Dover though, bloody hell. Haven't seen something like that for a bit, just go around clobbering people for 90 minutes! It's actually kinda funny how they seem to get away with it to be honest.

Sounded a good effort for once on the radio (only started listening after we went 1-1 - gloryhunter) but we apparently had a blatant penalty turned down just before you scored the second.

Reffed out of the National Leagues.

I dont remember a big penalty shout apart from when Cole appeared to make a great save early in the 2nd half and a couple of players half heartedly appealed. But I was in the East Bank at the other end of the ground so have no idea if there was a legitimate appeal.

It was your defender on the line stopped it going in with his lower arm according to the radio. Apparently our players were incensed as was Bates on the touchline. 2 mins later you go up the other end and score from a Scott Loach howler.

Mind you it is Radio Tees and they kept on referring to Aldershot being in Surrey. So read into the quality of the commentary what you will.

Will Evans did handle on the line, he told us after. Whether or not it was deliberate he kept quiet about.

I'd like to take this opportunity to publicly to thank Chester FC for my continuing restful sleep. Thanks to their magnificent uselessness, I find I can sleep through the night untroubled by thoughts of another relegation. :cool1::ds:

What a team of thugs. Feel sympathy for any Dover fans having to watch that week in and week out. Thankfully it's Aldershot at home on Saturday so we may be entertained with a bit of football.

Thanks for the 3 points sorry 6 points........................enjoy your airy fairy ,tip tapping football in the conf North, no good playing passing football , if you cant pass , like our football or not , been in the top 7 all season .........................................................nothing said about how poor the referee was , missing a blatant handball out side the area, anyway as I said , mines a double

Fair enough - as I say from the East Bank it looked like Cole saved it but from 100 yards away it was impossible to tell. That said it would have had to be deliberate to be a penalty and the only one who knows if it was is Evans. My guess is either the referee didnt see enough or if he did, he wasnt convinced it was deliberate. Once the highlights are up i'll have a look.

Yep agree, I too was on the East Bank so didn’t see it and thought Cole made the save . I actually thought the ‘pools players were appealing for a goal, not handball. The fact Will didn’t deny it was deliberate afterwards speaks volumes and suggests he knew what he was doing.

Few Shots fans said it was handball & couldn't have complained if it was a sending off.But it's all swings & roundabouts

Does this handball incident need its own thread?

Saw this ad in the local rag today

So suggest you take your rose tinted off and read some facts
Yellow cards this season
Chester 63
Dover 50

Red cards this season
Chester 2
Dover 0

Seems to me you use the term 'team of thugs' without much thought

Just saying like

Can only go by what I saw on Tuesday. Seen a number of physical sides this season but you definitely win the annual 'thug team of the year' award ... not even close. Perhaps you're inured to it by now. :ffs:
