Are you sure mate?
I thought KL played us off the park.
We were poor and hardly laid a glove on them all game.
KL will do well this season and we are back in the shit.

We didn't give them much in the first half but then Taye let a wide free kick float in over his head. I worry that he's just not tall enough, small GK who is vulnerable to those kinds of goals.

Second half we were OK until about the last 20-30 minutes then we just completely lost control once Coms went off.

Parry doesn't look anything like a player with over 100 appearances at this level and is a disaster waiting to happen.

So frustrating. Arguably the better side at Solihull but with absolutely nothing up front (something we are used to, we haven't had a player who can score since Louis Moult) and then concede to a set piece. Standard.

The Solihull feed was good when it worked, they even had replays and the commentator was decent. Unfortunately the first half was mostly buffering and drop outs for the majority of people.

Two wins out of two for Sutton, and own goal is out top scorer so far. Both of our goals were from free kicks played into the box which Aldershot failed to deal with. Shots looked a bit poor tonight tbh.

I know it’s early days but I’m fearful for this season. 2 defeats in 2, tonight was a carbon copy of Saturday - go 1-0 down before half time, start playing in the second half, get back to 1-1 with about 15 to go and concede 5 minutes from the end. Doesn’t help that our “state of the art” automated camera was looking at the centre circle when our goal went in so we didn’t actually see it. No game on Saturday so hopefully Searle gets a decent centre mid in on loan and McCormack gets fit before we go again on the 17th.

Poor poor poor, got what we deserved from that nothing. Lose Saturday and the knifes will be sharpened for McMahon, watch us unravel for yourselves on BT Sport.

Well long balls, set pieces and long throws against a side that passed it and had pace.

Loans and journeymen are fine when you can intimidate but with no fans that is harder as the refs only hear the moaning. How the hell Staunton didn’t get booked was a surpris.

Can't agree with those saying we were lucky to win tonight? Aside from an insipid half hour in the second half County were the better side, just couldn't convert that into creating chances, again.

And Thomas's winner deserves to win any game. It was absolute FILTH.

If the opposition sit back and let us have control and possession and we struggle to create chances does that automatically make us the better side?

If I comment on events in Solihull last night I will be in big trouble. And I don't want to be in big trouble.

You sound like your commentators who, after 10 minutes of the 2nd half were saying we were sitting back at a time when we'd barely been out of your half, after half time. In the first half we hit the crossbar, your keeper pulled off a worldy to keep you level and we had 2 or 3 good chances in the second half too. Your "wonder goal" was one we could just as easily have pulled out of the blue ourselves. Your commentators gave little credit and made much of our goal as being doubtful and a fluke, yet when your player almost pulled of a similar goal, it was a fantastic piece of play :fl:. You could have had no complaints if we'd taken a point and few, since the game was on a knife edge throughout, if we'd managed to pinch it.

I thought the balance of play was even and wouldn't have begrudged you a point as I said after the game but if we're talking ifs buts and maybes, apparently footage shows your goal had gone out of play and shouldn't have stood.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Same old, same old from the Shots. Supposed to be 4-3-3, but in reality 4-5-1, emphasis on containment. Not good to watch, not helped by camera work with “teething problems “.Essential that we get a midfield enforcer, far too soft and nice. Sutton a pragmatic 4-4-2, efficient and effective.
No game this Saturday, so may well be propping up the table soon.

"Apparently" huh? I guess we'll never know since your half and full time "highlights" strangely omitted to show our goal at all! :fl:

RP made for some predictable reading this morning..

I thought performance wise we played okay, and definitely deserved something out of it. Enough chances were created but again we look toothless going forward - not that we ever have one, but not sure who our 15/20+ goal a season striker will be this time?
Also, thought Jordan Davies was playing way too deep last night, would like to see him playing a lot further forward in the midfield with Harris/Young behind him

You seem to be forgetting about one Kwame Thomas.

Can you believe he played for 2 League One sides last season? 2 games in and he looks like one of the worst strikers I've ever seen.

Davies was playing so deep because he had to to receive the ball. The defence were just hoofing up to Kwame all game.

Can’t pretend I know a great deal about Alty - any of their fans on here confident of getting something tonight? Hoping we will see a bit of a more ‘dynamic’ line up tonight (ie swapping out JOB for Boldewijn or Ruben Rodrigues...)

The live stream of last night's match on our Youtube channel averaged just over 3000 viewers, peaking at 3950. It was free, so it'll be interesting to see how many it drops by when the PPV streaming service goes live.

We don't seem to have noticed we have made the step up yet (I am sure it will come in time) continuing on from last year where we conceded 2 or more in 40% of games. Might not seem promotion winning defending but that's 'the Culverhouse way' - we will score more than you - got our fingers burnt a couple of times last year and will, no doubt, this year too but Lynn fans have really bought into the style of play, just a shame we can't be there to witness it in person. Placed a big focus on fitness as we stepped up this season with lots of talk about facing full-time players and looks to have had its rewards already with late goals in both games, seven games this month might still be a stretch but hopefully confidence will help on that front.

There were large numbers of Stones fans watching the game too, some as far away as New Zealand. I thought your club did a great job with it to be honest, even the commentator was good (despite the WILSTUN in the 2nd half..)

Mmm, not really expecting a result tonight tbh. Slow-starters the past 3 seasons, lost our big striker on Friday. Didn't look too good on Saturday and had an average pre-season, getting turned over by NLN sides. I see we are 7/1 tonight, which is a bit big, but I'm not tempted. I've seen us pull off more surprising results but I can't really see it.

A good point made by Darren Sarll in his post-match interview last night, we can't play 11 v 11 in training which doesn't help prepare for league games. I'm sure we're not the only ones in that position by any means.

I thought he did ok as well, especially considering he's a Uni student doing it for nothing.

Wonder if the two very exciting attacking midfielders we’ve left on the bench again might get on before 80 mins tonight?

I imagine it's meant to be Yussuf.

I really hope on Saturday we see Durrell or Jarvis start instead of Rutherford, please God.

Dover look injury cursed 3 of our 5 defenders out , 2 out with hamstring, no cutting edge up front ,
played ok and looked dangerous going forward but no end product , Bromley capitalised on Dover mistakes

Very Notts, don’t think we’ve been great but capable of some great stuff in the final third (bit of luck with the offside for the first too). We score so many really nice goals.
