Meanwhile we have to wonder if Caprice is the same player your fans bemoaned. Looked great yesterday in an attacking 4-4-2.

Pace and attacking intent covers a multitude of first impression sins. Took us 10 games to realise that 90% of the goals we conceded were his fault.

2 poor teams playing out a very poor game, Gateshead doing what a lot of teams seem to be able to do against us , score in the last 5 minutes, although this time aided by the referee , who fail to respond to a point blank foul of a Dover player at the start of the build up for the goal, other than that defences ruled the game , with very few chances created by either side,
Dover do need to find a striker though, and how the hell did they give our goal to Allen when the players all congratulated Essam

Havenot and Waterlogged on Tuesday , really need to win that one

Think it’s too early to form a judgement one way or the other about a new player. That said, I was on tenterhooks yesterday about a Caprice defensive clanger given the remarks about his defensive frailty, but it didn’t happen.

We nailed the art of winning ugly, it certainly wasn’t pretty. We weren’t great but thankfully they were poor and had clearly come for just a point!

A side note, top marks to their manager who walked around all sides of the ground post match and applauded our fans. Clearly had an enjoyable day out result aside

I never had an issue with Caprice, he has his uses. He built up a very good partnership with James Dayton on our right side last season, but Daytons season ended in late January last season and Caprice's defensive frailties got exposed alot more after that.

His one v one defending will need to improve for the step up though.

I have seen him play six or seven games now, including pre-season against higher level opposition, and he has been excellent. He has got very good defenders alongside him in McNulty, Sutton and Bakayogo which he probably did not have previously, and he is well suited to Mellon's style of play with his overlapping runs.

I'm sure I just heard that there's a player called Danny Rowe at Braintree. That's now 15 players with that name knocking around the Non League scene.

It's not like Tranmere fans to get carried away after a few games is it? Have they won league 2 yet?

Caprice always looks like a decent attacking full back, but definitely has a dodgy side to his game. I will. Not be surprised if Tranmere fans are slagging him off by Christmas.

dont worry, Norwood will end up leaving on loan somewhere to the championship just in time to screw up their early promotion charge

What’s gone wrong at Aldershot? An unusually negative performance in the game at PP near the end of last season, but thought that a one off and that you’d be in play-off contention again this season.

Maybe we're trying to do a Tranmere - be terrible until November and then make a miraculous recovery to go up through the playoffs ;)

On a serious note I hope its inexperience in the younger players we have signed. Huge week coming up for us!

Don’t get why you Wrecsam fans are so bitter about us. I’d be amazed if Rovers are anywhere near promotion at the end of the season. Norwood’s contract expires next summer, so doubtless your ex-manager will try to snap him up in January to add to Wallsall’s collection of Rovers old boys and targets. Keep up the good start and we might even be playing you again next season.

my comment was tongue in cheek dont worry. but the Way Colin Murray and Ian Holloway were spaffing over his goal on the weekend, i wouldnt be surprised, given the recent movements between leagues, that he isnt on someones radar.... other than Keates :)

Bitter? It was only a joke mate. A dig at TranmereWhite and his endless belief you are the biggest team in football.

I quite like Tranmere.

Agree r.e. winning ugly - oh how I've wished of 1-0 wins in for the past 3 years.

That being said, Saturday was my first game this season and I wasn't overly impressed by any area other than the turnout from the fans.

Hoping for much better away at Salford on saturday in terms of performance.

I'll miss playing them this season, but I don't miss them poaching every single one of our targets at this level.

Keates only knows players from this level. He's instantly forgotten about Norwood and everyone else at Tranmere because they are now in the FL.

Yup wasn’t pretty, neither was it Ebbsfleet but a wins a win, 9 from 9 and 0 goals conceded isn’t to be sniffed at.

We’re going to have a few games like that I feel. Salford will probably have a go so should play info our hands to some extend
