Thought it was a total smash and grab to be honest, 0-0 would have been a very fair result. But we’ll take it!

Nah, there was only one team in it for the most part. Must have had 60% possession and Reeves, Enzio hitting the bar and Lacey had the best three chances of the game before the goal. Which isn’t to say that we played particularly well at all, but enough to win it.

We’ve missed two chances from 3 yards out, a 1 on 1 and had a great save from a free kick.
Other than the Lee chance and 1 corner you created absolutely nothing.

You’re the poorest side we’ve played this season by a comfortable margin

Dagenham and Boreham created absolutely nothing against us. Yeovil were better than both of them

The draw would have been fair but its games like this that winning at death can go a very long way.
We will just have to erase Dover from the records.:bg:

As soon as Lafayette got crocked, that was it. Our out ball taken away and putting on a centre half who had a shocker and clearly isn’t good enough for this level didn’t help.

We were so deep at 2-1 it was only a matter of time until Stockport equalised and from point on, the team fell apart.
Sums it up very well.

You had a threat on the break and defended and frustrated us very well for 65ish minutes but as soon as you dropped deep and gave up on trying to score or even keep the ball then the writing was on the wall.

John Rooney is one hell of a player for this level. I was totally against Gannon playing him in the 10 position but it seems he’s gonna get an absolute bagful from there.

Not the general consensus but ok. A much improved performance from us and it could have gone either way.

What? I mean, you played us on the opening day and I was convinced half our team had the virus! Since then I’ve just realised that we’re atrocious.
Yeovil must have been bad!

We should have won by more but I’ll take a 1-0 win as our team gets more minutes together. Our approach play was good and we looked more solid as a team. Weymouth look very limited and didn’t ever look like scoring, I think they’ll go straight back down.

Disagree. Boreham Wood were at least solid and Dagenham conceding at half time killed them. You could at least see what they were trying to do.

If Jamie Allen is running round your centre halves - you’ve got problems. I’d be happy to put money on Yeovil not getting near the playoffs (not saying we will either). Just doesn’t look like they had a plan.

Such a frustrating game at the Vic

We should've absolutely battered them but shat ourselves in front of goal

On the positives though, we look a good team, some of our approach play is class, we are well organised and have threats all over the pitch, but no one there to pick up the pieces in the box.

That's definitely our achilles heel.

Come back Peter Taylor all is forgiven. McMahon won’t last long with it like this, got the old get out of jail injury card at the moment though.

Fucking shite from Notts but as the old saying goes, we’d have lost that last season. If we don’t score early Ardley shits himself when we’re away.

Hartlepool, Stockport and us top 3. If this season ever gets finished no surprise if it stays like that(in some order).

Stockport County.
We need to start making life easier for ourselves by taking opportunities and cutting out silly errors. We were the better team and deserved to win but if you give the opposition something to hang onto you can make life very difficult for yourself.

We seem to click in 10-15 minute spells where we look like creating at will and then we lose momentum. Hopefully we'll keep improving.

Possession must've been 70/30, they had one shot all game in the 88th minute, we've had one disallowed, hit the bar twice, Donaldson missed an open goal and managed to head it away from goal some how, so frustrating to watch.

Think Challinor ballsed it up a bit, why would you bring on Molyneux for Oates then play Ofosu up front when you have both Bloomfield and Grey on the bench? Doesn't make any sense.

Weymouth offered absolutely nothing and despite us missing a couple of glaring chances, a very comfortable win.

Vasilou’s miss in particular was really quite spectacular and well worth a watch.

Without major improvement, Weymouth look a shoe in for relegation on that performance.

Just about deserved it on chances but Sutton must be gutted to lose it at the death.
Two well drilled teams made it hard for each other.

When your keeper doesn't have a save to make and you are the away side you deserve to win.

I like Kyle Wootton

Fucking hell I can't understand it either

Don't know why we started Oates up top - only an impact sub for me

Then yeah he brings on Molyneux no idea what he was doing there, no one playing central at all

Think DC doesn't know who his preferred striker is - from what I've seen though what he has is what a 600k budget gets you.

Pretty comfortable 2-0 win against Daggers for us. Not sure our keeper had a save to make.

We’ve looked very solid at the back so far, barring the last 10 minutes against Chesterfield.

I see Weymouth made it 4 games without scoring.

Hugely disappointing to capitulate the way we did given we were 2-1 up with 13 minutes to go. The substitutions didn't help and once we made an error to allow Stockport to equalise they were ruthless. You could see that once they got back in the game, they would go on to tear us apart. Rooney looks a class act.

For the Stones, a steep learning curve made all the more difficult by being a part time club. Many of our players did a days work yesterday before taking on one of the biggest clubs to ever play at this level, with resources that wouldn't be out of place in League One. We've got to grow into this and develop the squad, develop the club, in order to stay in the division and then build upon it. Apparently loan signings from Premier League clubs have been lined up, subject to the EFL transfer deadline on Friday (they don't go to EFL clubs instead).

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Excellent all round team performance from the ‘Shots, admittedly against a desperately poor Dover side. At last , a tactical change from Danny Searle, taking the game to the opposition rather than sitting in and hoping for a break.
I really feel for the Dover fans, given their financial situation.

Very, very comfortable for Boreham Wood last night, closed us down from the first minute and really only one team in it. Bizarre sending off for Loza that the ref didn't pick up on but with help from the touchline eventually sent him off about 2-3 minutes after the issuing second yellow (both very soft) but had absolutely no impact on the game as already 0-2 at that stage. Boreham Wood turned the 2nd half into a 'keep ball' training session and we went into damage limitation mode.

Everyone (management, fans) seem happy that our season won't be defined by the last two games against the better sides in the league and just a case of keeping positive for the games that matter.

Two points dropped that - Yeovil are dogshite.

Horrible error for their goal and on another day we’d have scored 5 - need Stenson and Hyde back desperately

Considering he's a personal trainer, Jake Hyde seems to spend far too much time injured...

Obviously i've not paid to much attention to the league this season - but how on earth did Dover beat Notts County 1st game of the season looking at the scores since then?

By half way through the 2nd game we'd lost 3 1st choice defenders through injury.
coupled with a forward line that can't score = deep shit

Very pleased with our performances so far over what has been one of the toughest series of early fixtures we could have been given. True we've not broken any nets yet, but we're making chances and once we get the 2 main strikers we brought in specifically to do that job for us fit again and into the side, that will change. The 2 we brought in at the last minute to stand in for them had no pre-season at all and have yet to hit the target. :ds:
